Covet laughed at the story Yaku had been telling her as they stepped up in front of the door to the house. He was really quite charming and had been rather nice to chat with. Reaching out, she opened the door, but didn't step inside right away. Leaning against the doorframe she smiled up at him. She knew he couldn't have been all bad. All it took was someone willing to give him some patience.
"Thank you for the refreshing stroll," she smirked a little as she looked into his oddly colored eyes.
"The pleasure was mine Covet," he replied and kept his eyes on hers. The fact that she left herself open to him was not lost. Rather than stepping into the building, she remained within his space. "I rather enjoy your company," he said with his trademark charm. Reaching out he picked up a lock of her hair that had fallen over her shoulder and enjoyed its silkiness as it ran through his fingers. When she laughed and did not pull away he smirked a little. He was a shu who knew what he wanted and never bothered to ask before he took it. Without a second thought, he cupped her face in his palm and leaned down to press a soft kiss to her lips.
Covet hadn't thought twice about him touching her hair, she had grown used to it being played with. She had been about to bid him farewell when he suddenly slipped his hand over her cheek and she blinked in utter surprise as he pressed his lips to hers. What surprised her more was the softness of the kiss, the warmth of it.

Somewhere behind her a door slammed, enough to shake the walls of the house. A whimper followed and Scim came running to Covet's side, looking for some affection. He soon stopped when he spotted the strange Shu so close to his mistress and started to growl, his teeth bared and his ears flattened against his head.
If Covet went searching for Mecca she would not find him anywhere within the house.

Covet put her hands on Yaku's chest and pushed him away, her heart stopping as a door slammed shut. Taking a step back fully into the house, she frowned up at Yaku and reached down to grab Scim by the chain around his neck.
"Leave," she said, pointing out behind him.
Yaku looked down at her in surprise and smirked at the sound of a door being slammed. So her red friend had been home after all. He had been about to step forward after her, but stopped short at the appearance of the beast beside her. Though small, he knew it was not something to be messed with.
"I'll see you around dollface," he smirked and tipped his hat to her before turning and starting down the steps.
Covet watched him walk away and then turned to shut the door behind her. Sinking down to her knees she ran a hand over Scim's silky fur for a moment. Rising to her feet she went in search of Mecca though she knew it would be in vain. When the house turned up empty, she curled herself up in his leather seat in the shop and waited for him, her hand resting on Scim's back.

"You can't help yourself can you?" He said when he finally returned, stalking into the shop and removing his coat. Typically he hung his coat up and removed his boots. Ignoring Scim as he bounced around for attention. "If you get into danger around him do not expect me to help you." He said angrily looking down at her. "I honestly thought you had more intelligence." Giving a dissapointed sigh he turned to leave the workshop.

Covet looked up as Mecca came into the shop and quickly pushed herself up to her feet. She took a few steps towards him, then stopped at the look he gave her.
"Me-chan... Mecca, wait," she called out, chasing after him and putting a hand on his arm. "Don't you think you're being a bit unfair?" she demanded. "You... you know nothing about him. So he did some dumb things. So he's dangerous, that doesn't mean he'll hurt me. He has yet to actually. So if you're going to accuse me for being a fool for attempting to befriend him, then you must do the same for me chasing after you," she said.

"I said, don't call me that." He snarled, pushing her away from him. "I hate it." Seething he turned to continue walking but stopped, turning back round to face her. "I do not take joy in leaving evil magic around to destroy people. I did not burn innocent people's ships." He shouted, leaning his hand on the doorpost. "You don't just befriend people either. You're a shameless flirt. You tried with Matador, you succeeded with me ... and now you are bored and need some new male to play victim to."
leaving marks where his nails had been digging into the doorpost he stormed into the bedroom, Scim running past him just in time as he slammed the door.

Covet blinked in utter surprise when he shoved her away and snarled at her. She quickly realized that she had seen him worked up, but never angry before. She stood rooted to the spot in shock and fear, only moving to take a small step back as he wheeled around to face her again. At his final words she leaned heavily back against the wall, her legs no longer able to support her. She could feel the hot tears stinging her eyes, but refused to let them be spilled. She wanted to run away and hide, but she knew she couldn't do that. She needed to face this to the bitter end.
Making her way up the stairs, she hesitated as she stood before the closed bedroom door. Leaning her forehead on it for a moment, she took a deep breath and walked inside.
"Mecca, you're wrong. You are so very, very wrong. I did not flirt with him. Not once. I don't want him. I don't want to be with him and I do not play victim. I'm honestly sorry that you feel that way about me. That was never my intention with you. Never," she said, managing to keep her voice steady and clenching her fists tightly down at her sides. "My honest to goodness intention was to befriend him, but I won't try anymore. He is not worth losing you over."

Mecca lit a candle and splayed his hand on the arm of the chair he had thrown himself into. Tipping it onto its side he watched as the hot wax dripped onto his skin. The pain was minimal, but for the moment it would have to do.
"You are free Covet, you may do what you wish." He said as he watched the drips. "You seemed to be enjoying yourself, I saw little resistance to his closeness, or his kiss. If that is what you enjoy then who am I to stop you."

"Free? You act as though I were your captive," she said, watching him try to hurt himself. She strode forward and snatched the candle out of his hand, swallowing hard as wax spilled on her own hand. Kneeling down in front of him, she blew out the flame and tossed the candle aside.
"Don't you dare try to escape this," she said glaring up at him. "If you saw no resistance, then you obviously did not see much of our interaction. Even before you stormed off I had pushed him away. I did not expect him to do that, nor did I want him to. Contrary to what you are accusing me of, I am not some cheap floozy. I may damn well act like one, but I sure as hell am not one. You are the only one I want to be with Mecca. You. No one else. Can't you understand that?"

"Do I scare you Covet?" He asked flatly standing and walking to the window and looking out over Ceiphei. "Tell me, what do you feel when I hurt you?"

Covet frowned at his random question and watched him stand. Rising to her own feet, she clutched her hands together in front of her. "No. I am not afraid of you Mecca," she replied honestly. Stepping forward, she closed the space between them, but remained a few steps away. "And I feel..." she paused and looked down at the floor for a moment, having never thought much about it. "I feel you. I feel close to you. I understand that it's the only way that you are physically able to show me how you feel. I understand it and I relish every moment we spend together. I meant what I said last night." Or rather hinted at, she admitted silently. "And I mean what I say today. Please Me-ch.... Mecca... this is one pain I don't want you to feel," she said softly, slowly reaching out to put her hand on his arm.

"I want you to stay away from him." He said turning to face her slowly. "He's dangerous and I do not want you to get hurt." He sighed and took some of her hair between his fingers. "I am sorry I left, I had to control my anger.

Covet silently breathed a sigh of relief when he turned to face her and she looked directly into his steel blue eyes. "I know. That's why I did not come looking for you," she said softly, reaching up to run her fingers over the hand that held her hair, feeling the silky wax on his skin. "I promise Me-cha... Mecca that I'll stay away from him," she said, stepping forward to close the space between them.
"Tell me... do you really hate it when I call you that?" she asked softly, tilting her head a little and pressing her lips to his to kiss him deeply, but softly before he could answer. She knew what she felt when she shared in his pain, but she wondered if he still felt nothing with her softness.

"Yes." He said when she finally let him speak. "But when I am not angry, I do not mind." He sighed and stepped away from her, turning back to walk out of the door and down towards the shop. Scimitar following close on his heels.
Covet deserved better, he should just let her go. He wasn't made for a relationship, that he had just proved.

Covet smiled a little when he answered her, but it faded as he stepped away. She watched him leave and ran a hand through her hair. Maybe she should just leave. All he ever wanted was his peace, something that she continually destroyed on a regular basis. Taking a deep breath she made her way to his shop. She watched him for a moment and then walked around, reading the spines of the books, the titles she already knew by heart.
"Me-ch..." Breathing deeply in frustration as she nearly slipped again, she turned on her heels to face him. "Mecca, do you want me to leave? I cause you nothing but trouble. I fear that no matter how hard I try, I will always cause you trouble. If you want your peace, then I will give it to you," she said, watching him.
