I'd say that the mojority of female gamers devote themselves to being a 'fan' of a certain game series or character(s) of a game series more often then male gamers do. Because of this I would say that there are more girls that are to be considered 'FF fans' then guys. Male gamers tend to broden their horizons more often then females have in my experience.
I've known about 12 girls that play videos games more then often would encompass. In retrospect, I've known about 23 guys that play as many games or more then that of the females, or at least spend just as much time doing so. 10 of those 12 girls considered themselves to be Final Fantasy fans and for the most part wouldn't play any other games; they'd just play their final fantasies over and over and over again without any determination to see what other games, even other RPGs, could bring. Where as on the male side of the spectrum, only 2 of them considered themselves to be FF fans though even they played many other games.
This experience leads me to believe that there are more female final fantasy fans then male ones.
(And for the record... I did NOT include myself in this information)
I'll say the girls do... since they don't move on and obviously put more time into the games then guys do.
But as for which gender has had the most of their kind play each game?
... I'd deffinately say the guys.
((hehe I think I went a little overboard.... sweatdrop ... but at least i got my point across... I hope))

Who plays more? Girls or Guys?

lol, i agree that you have a good point but from my perspective i see more guys interested in video games in general, and i wouldnt say the population of fan girls is that drastic compared to the overall number of girl gamers. i myself like the final fantasy series but in no way restrict myself to that one line of games or genre of games. only some of my female friends restrict themselves to the rpg genre, but not the ff series, or they have only played one or two of the ff games anyways. i also would not consider myself one of the radical "fan girls" that everyone talks about, since they can be very over the top and obsessed with one particular game or series (which is pretty stinkin silly)
I'm really glad to hear it. I unfortunately seem to only know the fan girls instead of real girl gamers. more than that however, I'm just really happy that someone read and responded to a post that I put so much thought into. sweatdrop
