"You did. Everyone does." R'ign joined in the conversation as she grabbed an empty seat next to Aoki. "Wish I knew these candidates as well as I knew you guys as candidates. I like to try and guess what color each will Impress. Though, if Glith isn't hiding any, there's going to be a lot of unhappy candidates." Grimacing, she wondered who'd deal with them. She'd have her own hands full with the new weyrlings.
She turned back to the eggs as one hatchling stumbled towards one candidate and another injured itself as it struggled to escape its egg. "Ouch. We'll need some numbweed for these hatchlings, it appears." Kerth?
Morkth says that T'rin will handle the unImpressed and will bring some numbweed as he is on his way at the moment.

Kirana stood at the entrance to the Hatching Ground, flatting out her light brown dress as she took a step forward next to the bluerider, "What...are you expecting me to do?" She asked, grinning nervously.

"Hmm? Expecting you to do? I figured you were here to watch the Hatching. Unless you're a candidate..." He paniced at that thought, if so, then they'd have to hunt her down a candidate's robe and then she'd miss most of the Hatching. T'rin set the numbweed jars down by the feeding tables, turning back to Kirana.

Kirana glanced back outside the Hatching Grounds. She was normally an honest person, but the idea of having a chance at Impression and getting away from her brother... "I'm a candidate... I just got here the other day, and I wasn't exactly briefed on what I was suppose to do..." She said, rubbing the back of her neck and blushing. "I'm sorry to put you through all this trouble."

T'rin sighed. "Shells. C'mon, then. We've got to get you back over to the Candidate Barracks and into a candidate's robe." Morkth?
Coming.
"My dragon will give us a ride to speed things up. Hopefully we can manage this without you missing too much of the Hatching..." He helped the girl up the blue dragon who had just landed. "Hold on!" The blue leapt up into the sky, quickly flying across the Weyr to the Candidate Barracks.
Once there, T'rin helped Kirana down quickly, then pointed to the female's side. "There should be some white robes lying about. Find one and put it on and then Morkth'll take us back over to the Hatching Grounds."

Gail jumped at the sound of the weyrlingmaster's voice.
"Ah, hello!" She said cheerfully. "Yeah, I talked to Naeryn a bit when she got here, I'm almost sure she'll impress; she's got such a empathetic relationship with her firelizard, I've never seen anything like it." Gail shrugged. "As for the others... I have no idea. I've just seen them around." She thought a moment. "They almost all have firelizards..." She added as an after thought.

Kirana hoped down and snatched up one of the shorter gowns, tugging it over her head as she undid her other clothing and let it fall into a pile on the ground. She gathered them up, folding them together before turning back to T'rin, grinning, "Ready," She said. She'd gotten quite used to speed dressing when it came to using the bathhouses.

R'ign smiled. "Yeah, I do believe Naeryn will Impress." She scanned the candidates for a moment, then nodded. "You're right. Most of them do have flits. Good and bad, really. They'll already know to oil the hide, but sometimes flits demand a lot of attention and newly hatched dragonets need all your attention as you all know very well." She grinned at the former weyrlings.

T'rin blinked slightly, reaching down to aid the girl up. "Okay, then. Back to the Hatching Grounds."
I've been speaking with Kerth. He says that only two have hatched and that none have Impressed yet. She will be fine. Besides, if she were to Impress, the dragon would wait.
True, love. But it's best not to keep a dragon waiting.
By then, the trio had arrived at the Hatching Grounds enterance. The bluerider hopped down after helping Kirana down, then practically dragged the girl into the Grounds. "There. Just join the other girls. Morkth says that none have Impressed yet, so you've got the same chance as all of them." Smiling, he gave her a gentle shove in that direction.

Kirana gave T'rin a grin as she stumbled over to the gaggle of girls, tucking her amber brown hair behind her ears and shuffling left and right as she sighed, shaking her head as she watched the twitching eggs.
This was almost too much to believe. She was standing in a line of girls in candidate robes on a hatching grounds of shaking eggs. Riders lined the stands around her, and her family was no where in sight. This day just couldn't get any sweeter.

T'rin then found a spot where he could get a good view of the Hatching.

Kirana shuffled a little bit more, jumping as her name echoed through out the hatching grounds. "Kirana!" Riran yelled, standing at the entrance to the grounds. "Kirana, you get back here this instant!" He shouted, starting forward into the caverns and out onto the sands.

But that is not much to brag about... She laughed in her mind.
"I've never seen her around the weyr before..." Gail mused to R'ign. "But Chaos is right...one thing right after another... By the way," She lowered her voice and looked around. "Do you know where the Weyrwoman is? Is she alright?"

T'rin turned, spotting the man in the enterance and quickly made his way over there. "Sir? The Hatching has just started."

R'ign furrowed her brows at Gail's comment. "Tolara?" She muttered, scanning the area around where the Weyrwoman usually stood with narrowed eyes, searching for her friend. "Ah, there. Hiding next to Glith, it appears." Sighing with relief, R'ign sat back.

Riran hissed at T'rin, "And my sister is out there when she's suppose to be helping with our caravan! Kirana, you get over her this minute!" He shouted, causing Kirana to wince and glance over at Riran, smiling slightly and waving before turning back to the eggs.
Riran grumbled loudly, "Get her over here! Get her here now!"

T'rin held a hand up, replying calmly, "And the candidates are out there, where they should be at this moment. How else will the hatchlings find them?" He winced as the Journeyman started shouting. "Please, sir. You don't want to anger the queen, do you? Fort has had some hard times recently and this Hatching is important for us all."
