Sugarplum? She stood there dazed before her little hooves started dancing back and forth. True she looked odd with a bandage around her wing but yet the way she acted you'd never know how hurt she really was. Not that she'd purely trust a two-legger as much as her dark handsome mentor, but she was appreciative to a certain fact.
"Ooh you learn fast Mr. Torn. hee hee." she giggled gr abbing one and munching quite happily letting the juices drip messily down her muzzle. Looking up at him she fluttered her eyes like a little lovestruck filly and smiled.
"Okies now what? W here can we go to find something to do?" she trilled dancing about till her wing ached. "Oww oww oww.. well I mean" she mumbled letting her wing sag lossely, " something nice to do yeah."
Everly shook his head at her. One moment she depressed and full of apathy, the next she's ready to take on the world. He'd never ever understand his charge, nor why she was considered his responsibility. It was like one of the 7 wonders in the world he guessed. It just was.

Torn chuckled softly at the way the sugar plum seemed to effect her mood. She ate it quicly enough that he half wondered if she even tasted it. The juiced ran dark and sticky down her chin and it had to have been the cutest thing he had ever laid eyes on. "I suppose we best find you a stream, lest those bee's think your a sweet flower now with all that juice on your chin lass." he said with a chuckle.
He was glad she was feeling better, he had been so worried about her. She had been so depressed and sad after her ordeal with the bees. Now, all her fear was gone and it was as if she could do anything...He was half surprised she didnt leap right up into the sky. "Take it easy there" he lightly chidded her as her wing began to ache. "Last thing we need is for you to get perminatly stuck on the ground. "

Her mind traveled here and there stopping on an image of a flutter much like herself submerged in the thickest honey ever created. BNot being able to escape she heard those buzzing monsters with their vile stingers teasing her.
Shaylee snorted.
Now what was that all about she pondered with a shake of her curled mane, letting it bounce in the cold breeze. "Well water is a bit frigid this time of year silly. You asking me to become a flutter-sickle?" she giggled looking right into those deep brown eyes of his. Blinking she pranced abit, careful of causing pain, and watched him closely.
"Say what do you think of me Torn? Am I airheaded and silly to you?"

"Oh come now, Certainly you wont freeze up from just washing your face. " he said with a soft chuckled and a flick of his tail. He nudged her lightly, careful to watch out for the bee stings that littered her beautiful body. "I'll even race you to the stream lass. Ive seen how well you fly but how well are you on the ground?" He asked with a half cocked smile and a tilt of his head.
As she asked him what he thought of him he cleared his throat and looked to the side. Many things wanted to explode out of his mouth at once. He wanted to say. "You are the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on and I am lucky to have come here and met you." but he thought that sounded to mushy, and Torn didnt want to put the little one off. "I um... Well.. Shaylee you are a Valient little lass, whom I am enjoying having spent much of your time with. Frankly I think my days would be very boring without you. " He stoped himself for he wanted to continue with. "your purple essance and the very sight of you makes my day complete." He sighed to himself and hung his head. He couldnt very well tell her that now could he?

Boring. There was a good one in her mind. Never would she think herself as boring or even try. As fast as the flutter of the Christmas 2005 moved its a wonder she didn't give others brainfreeze when it iced out. His compliments were so dazzling in those childish eyes and she loved the attention greatly.
"A race you say... I can run the fur right off your rump if you let me." she giggled blushing. Spooked she snorted wondering just why her cheeks went warm again by her words. Was she getting sick from all those beestings covering her? Bah it was just a superstition that she'd die from the hell they put her through. Tough, witty, and fast on her feet and air she pranced about nipping playfully at him.
"Okay tough guy if its a race you want? Its a race you'll get. I'll even let you get a head start cause I'm good about those things" she giggled nodding her head.

The dark stallion couldnt help but chuckle as his words seemed to have warmed the fillies heart. She wasnt down trodden, oh no, she was full of life and ready to go, and that... was what he liked best about her. Her playful spirit and innocent nature. As long as he lived he would always cherish his time spent with her, Her of the sugar plums.
His amber eyes watched her as she pranced about him in her childlike fashion. Fixing his jaw he lowered his head and little and smirked. "If it a race ye be wantin' lassy, a race'll be what yer gettin'." He said.
His white socked hooves pranced on the ground, pawing lightly into the earth. "Wouldn' be right o' me to be running with out ya lass. Lets start together shall we?" he smiled. "'sides. I wouldn' want te'h be beatin' ya before the race even begins."

Glistening with a childlike nature she tossed those plum curled silken locks about as if a strong gust offered to do so. Hindquarters dancing with her speckled blanket made the little one look sleek with a determined guise. She was ready to race again save for this being a ground marathon. It mattered not for her heart loved the excitement with the sheer competion of it all.
Oh how long it had been since the little flutter had entered in a good race.
Sticking out her long slender neck she snorted with a grin, "Alright Mr. bigstuff. Lets see you beat me. Haven't lost one yet".
Long slender legs held up her form with dappled purples and pinks like that of her favorite snack. In escence you are what you eat they say. Standing before the gallant handsome stallion stood the embodiment of the Sugarplum Fairy.

Torn smiled at her and shook his head from side to side sending his ebony mane dancing over his obsidan coat, shaking his forlock from infront of his eyes. "You ready Lass? " he said with a deep chuckle as his hooves dug into the rich soil as they pranced waiting for the go.
His tail flicked behind him and he lowered his head. His muscles rippled under his skin, chorded and strong. It would be interesting to see who would come outthe victor. The strong stallion, or the lithe fae.
"Go!" he called out, his tenor voice ringing through out the valley.

His voice sounded like a trumpet as the race extended into a full gallop. No holds barred was this flutters enemy. Long before she could outbest anyone in her flight she was a skilled runner that teamed with flying. Thoiugh she appeared breakable she was strong in those long thin legs carrying her toward her goal. Even the falling snow didn't facinate the stout little mare's determination. Powering herself beside this great bulk of black satin she shaw and heard nothing but the whistling wind fleeing through her ears.

Torn's hooves thundered onto the ground, tearing at the turf below him and leaving ruts where his hooves had been. He powered forward, mustering all his strength into an explosive head start. All too soon he began to loose pace and the flutter was begining to catch up with him. He continued to slow and she was there beside him now running neck and neck. It seemed as if the stallion had made a fatal error in thinking that getting a head start early on would power him ahead of the slender lass.
Casting a glance to the side he watched her, even though she was on the ground her grace never left her. She was purple poerty in motion as she ran along beside him, her wings tucked in to avoid resistance and her mane and tail trailing behind her like a fan fare.....

As the two thundered upon the ground a little teal creature nearly leapt two feet nearly being trampled from the two advancing equines moving like a solid pair near one another. Pulling himself back with his agile reflexes he blinked in a startled wonder keeping track of the two. Shaylee was forgetting her misfortune and Torn was having the time of his life.
Shaylee grinned with a smirk feeling victory within her sight as she charged toward the river neck to neck with her deep ebony competitor. Everly was a mild distraction as he nearly got himself trampled but she knew her guardian well. The little canine was used to surprises and learned to cope with them in uncanny ways. Dirt flew from her hooves mixed with battered crystalline snow melting earthy colors as it mingled with the sod below.
She smiled glancing at those rustling muscles beside her partially swooning with a purr in her little chest. This is what life was all about and for once someone was sharing it with her openly. Whinning she stretched her head out further and pounded even harder.
It was now or never....

Torn was starting to slow into a stready pace just when the little mare seemed to be building up speed. He counted himself foolish for thundering ahead of her so early in the race and running back behind her was a distraction. She was fluid poetry in motion, the mare was agile grace and purple plum passion emboided in one. Her hair streamed out behind her in a fan fair to her coming. Yes, she was one of the sidhe, a little one... a spirit.
And he wouldnt have it any other way.
Graced by her countance and befriended as he was, he was very lucky. He turned his head to watch the teal blur rush to the side, his thoughts muddled and full of pride he picked his head up again to keep his eye on the race and road ahead. But It was too late.
He had veered off corse watching everly dance out of the way and he stumbled breaking stride. A slight pain in his left back leg shot up his side but he paid it no mind as he crow hopped over a fallen log. Shaylee was yards ahead now and he couldnt let her win with that much of a leed. He thunderd ahead ignoring the pain in his leg and the crimson dots that followed the ground behind him.
His leg was cut just above the hoof and a piece of wood was still lodged in side. Steadily it made its way out of the skin and fell harmlessly to the ground. A Minor wound but one that would cause the stallion shame none the less once he realised his folly. He was supposed to be making the mare feel better, not wounding himself and looking like a fool.

Drawing to the finish her heart pounded deeper and broader this time around. The wind, the freedom, the thrill of victory than ran within those strong little veins. She knew what she wanted and wasn't loosing it.
Thundering her little hooves she trailed onward toward the river that sweat covered her chest with a frothy whiteness that clung here and there even on her shoulders and rump. A stinging sensation began to irritate her as her pace kept in time with her goal. Little needles drilling endlessly into her entire being. The more she ran the harsher the annoyance became which was causing her to falter in her progress. If only she'd have known that Torn was behind her in his own injury. But her determination was her strength. Crying was for the weak which the bumblebees would laugh at, no mater what the cost her very escence depended upon this crucial moment as she smelled the moving water swaying back and forth like a finishline.
"Nearly there torn. You just wait and watch. I'll show you I'm strong. Please believe me..." she thought deeply blinking a few tears away. By now that water looked as inviting as any other.

Torn thundered behind her proud hooves diging into the sod as the sound of the water trickling through the rocks reached his ears and the scent of pure cleen glacier water reached his nose. That cold caress of the waters scent stirred him forward. The little lass was closing in on the prize.
It wasnt that he thought her weak, or didnt want to be beaten by a mare. For if it was any mare that could best him he knew Shaylee could do it. The mare was a spunky and wild as she was graceful and elegant.
It was the fact that he was having the time of his life, and he wanted it to continue. He was in a race, a true race of the hearts. Both beating and pounding towards the same goal in an attempt to slightly out do the other. He smiled a bit as he watched her run before him, hooves digging into the moist ground. He was just behind her, and just head but only a few paces away was the river bank.

"Yeeesssssssss" she squealed smelling that wonderful scent, the driving lifeforce of all living things. Victory was sweet as honey nestled within the protective bees hive, and she was the reaper of all the spoils. Just a little bit further was her destiny as it swayed too and fro.
Running still at her quickened pace her head weaved sideways to gaze upon the deternined competitor directly behind her. Smirking she thought to herself, "Heh he just doesn't want to give up does he. Don't even to me" giggling she winked at him, picking up more speed as she called upon it. Though it was a tad chilly she'd welcome the coolness that would envelope her sides and neck numbing the thousans pricklings that annoyed the poor fiesy creature to no end.
"Fast as fast can be... you'll never catch meeeeeeeeeee" she yelled out so he'd hear her. Soon very soon it would all be over yet her heart wished this race could last for an eternity.
