Changes come, Huamnity out the door
The day though hot and sluggish outside was anything but for the young man who sat in the shadows of his room. Christmas and New Years had come and gone, and though he tried to find merriment, all he could think of was how much he missed his home, his life, and his sister. Trapped on this island, and being changed into some sort of freak of nature only made things worse. Then there was Cody, what had happened to the kid, poor guy no longer had legs and now the Lab techs had gone and moved him off somewhere else. Gallen rolled over on to his stomach, all night and morning he felt like crap, shivering every so often, acking all over. The pain felt all too familiar, yet he did not want to believe it was going to happen again.
Soon an hour past and the pain only became worse, his skin crawled while he found it harder to breath, like someone was resting 25 pound weights on his chest. His ears burned along with the end of his spine as he tried to close his eyes and forget the pain. Though unable to lay there in such discomfort, Gallen soon sat up only to be greeted in the dim light that bled in from the outside world buy the beginnings of a strange discoloration along his thighs. He soon looked to his arms only to find more of the blotchy dark marks forming.
“Oh s**t, not again” he said under his breath as the pain hit him like a wave. Soon Gallen jolted back in a seizer as his body began to contort and stretch at the same time, it was like he was being ripped apart from the inside out. His feet stretched, the toes fattening as he could feel the sharp pain of his nails loosening and soon falling off. But just as fast as that pain ended a new one began as he felt the sharp ivory claws pierce through the tender flesh of his toes. As this occurred the skin on his feet discolored further gaining a more grayish blue hue, more small bead like scales soon formed spreading down his feet. Soon the same scales began to spread over his hands, but Gallen did not care, the pain coming from his back bone and soon around his mouth and nose caused him not to be awe struck by the newly forming scales.
In waves of pain he could feel and hear the bone that made up his human skull start to crack and move. His nose slowly broadening, as his face begun to jut out. Soon his ears followed pulling back more, stretching upward. He shivered and moaned as the back of his shorts begun to slide down from the slow growth of a long tail. Small bead like scales also formed at the end of the tail as it lengthened about a good foot and a half. Tears ran down his cheeks as his eyes widened, turning green. As the horrible pain subsided Gallen felt the prickle of hairs forming down the back of his neck, on his arms, and the tops of his thighs. He breathed deeper as he found that his lung felt even smaller then before. In pain from the sudden changes, his body shivered and demand for him to get into some warm water once more, all he could do was lay there and weep. The bright sun shined into his dark room, it was the only comfort he could find through this new ordeal.
