Well that really depends on the school. Usually because of more experience, high schoolers are really good.

PaulVGarza what im wondering is are high school students as good as i think they are? (i think that they are VERY good) High school bands are very good. In Colorado at least, we are just a step down from drum corp. of course sweatdrop i cant speak of every one. I know that there are many high school bands who I just wish would dissaper.

PaulVGarza what im wondering is are high school students as good as i think they are? (i think that they are VERY good) Many of us are, but sadly there are a bunch of people who don't work very hard and aren't that great (i do work very hard and lots of us are as good as you think)

Depends. Not all high school band people (if that's who you're talking about, cause it is a band nerd guild) are the same...some rock, some suck. All depends. And it's an opinion, too. I think 1/3 are, I beat the other high schoolers to symphonic band even if I'm just a freshman...

Most are but there are a few in band just for the trips and such. But the ones that really apply themselves are amazing

Shinigami_1890 I would have to say, it really depends on the reputuation. Like in Texas, band is a big deal and everyones pumped up so it rocks. But in some areas here in MI, band is like Whatever, (wich sucks) so its not as good.
To answer the thread question, yes I'm in Wind Ensemble and we ROCK!! And so does Symphony band when they really want to. Jazz band is possibly better than WE and Freshman Concert band is good...for being freshman.
