Covet turned back towards the organ and watched the darkness curl like a black mist. She was captivated by the swirling darkness. Faintly she could hear a voice chanting something in a language she did not recognize but understood clearly. She heard another voice and realized vaguely that it was Mecca's, but she couldn't hear what he was saying. A dark tendril started to roll out from the darkness, though she could not tell if it were cloud or shadow as it seemed to be both at the same time. Lifting her hand, she started to reach out for the tendril as it reached out to her.

Mecca watched as Covet stood transfixed. Watching the darkness ebb closer, strying to feel what kind of magic it was. He almost did not seeCovet's hand reach out for the tendril. "Covet, No!" he said firmly, stepping forwards to grab her arm and pull it away from the encroaching darkness.

Covet blinked and frowned as her hand was suddenly snatched away. The chanting grew more insistant and she turned her eyes towards Mecca. A flash of red flickered across her green eyes. When she blinked again, it was gone and her expression softened into an uncertain smile. Pinning her ears back to drown out the chanting, she glanced down at Mecca's hand on her arm.
"What are you doing?" she asked, glancing back up to his eyes.

"That is evil." He said pointing to it. The flash of red in her eyes and her change in manner had not gone unoticed. Mecca kept her arm in his grip and reached into his coat pocket for something.
Turning his eyes back to Covet's he looked deep into them and took a breath. "I think we should leave." He said in a steady voice.

"Leave?" she repeated, glancing back to the darkness that seemed to hover where it was though it moved constantly, its shape ambiguous like smoke.
"But don't you want to know what it is?" she asked, managing to keep her voice steady, though she wanted to raise it so she could hear herself over the foreign words. She wanted to reach out and touch it, but Mecca's hand on her arm kept her from doing so. She turned her face back towards him and gave him a rather charming smile.
"I mean... it can't be all bad. It's just a cloud," she said, looking back towards it, her free arm starting to reach towards it again.

Mecca gave her a glare of annoyance and swung her away from the cloud. "It's bad." He said, almost a shout. Muttering some words under his breath he threw a ball up in the air and said an unusual word loudly.
There was a flash of light and the dark cloud dissolved, Mecca caught the ball in his hand and turned back to Covet. "See, Covet." He said holding the now swirling black ball out. "Bad magic." He continued to watch her. Just because he had captured the magic it didn't mean she was not still posessed.

Covet frowned as she stumbled a little when Mecca twirled her away from the organ, then blinked at the bright flash of light. When she opened her eyes, the darkness was gone. When Mecca turned back towards her, her eyes fell on the swirling darkness trapped within the ball. Lifting her ears, she tried to catch the chanting again, but it had softened greatly and was now a soft hum in the back of her mind. Swiveling them around a little, she realized that the object he held was what was muting it. Smirking lightly, she reached out and picked the ball up from his palm.
"So it was," she agreed lightly, holding the ball up a little so she could peer at it, the chanting growing louder again now that she held the ball between her fingertips. "Hm," she hummed thoughtfully as she turned around and started towards the door.
"Aren't you coming?" she asked him over her shoulder, looking away just as her eyes flashed again.

Mecca watched her and frowned as she took the ball. Did she think he was a total idiot. Sighing he watched her and narrowed his eyes. "Covet, come here." He said beckoning her with a crimson finger and a loaded smirk. "Not yet."

Smirking, she turned back to face him with an arched brow and ran an impatient hand through her hair. "First you want to leave, now you want to stay? Honestly Mecca, you really should work on your decision making skills," she smirked and started to turn away again. "I've grown weary of this place. I'm leaving even if you're staying," she said with a small shrug as she stepped out into the main hall of the cathedral without another glance back.

"I said come here." He said muttering an incantation and summoning the ball to himself. It flew, up and out of Covet's hand and through the air to his. "Now Covet, are you going to come here or do I have to bind you?" He said flatly, his cold eyes boaring into her. This really was getting rather out of hand. They couldn't even have a day out without some drama befalling them.

Covet blinked and spun around to watch the ball fly back to him. Supressing the urge to be irritated, she plastered on a cool smirk as she walked back into the small room. "If you wanted that back, you could have just asked," she said, her eyes dropping down to the ball and then back up to his. "Now Me-chan, you got what you wanted. Can we go home now?" she asked, tilting her head to the side imploringly as she reached up and adjusted the collar of his coat.

Right you would have. Mecca thought as she walked over to him. But, at least he had her now. Smiling cooly at her as she spoke and adjusted his collar he slipped an arm around her waist and dragged her inside the room, slamming the door behind him.
He shoved the ball in his pocket and held her tight as he placed a hand on her head and started to chant a banishing spell. With any luck, whatever had gotten into her would leave.

At first she tried to struggle against him, trying to free herself from him, but then his chanting mixed with the other voice started to clash. The dissonance was making her ears and head hurt, and taking deep breaths, she clamped her eyes shut tightly as she leaned forward to rest her forehead against his chest.
"Stop!" she cried out, pinning her ears down with her hands. She didn't care which one obeyed her, she just wanted one of them to stop. "Me-chan please!" she cried out again, tears rolling slowly down her cheeks.

Mecca ignored her cries, keeping his hand firmly on her head and chanting a little louder. He could hear the chanting now. It was coming, all he needed was to step it up a little. Switching to a more powerful, yet untried chant he closed his eyes and blocked the other light out.
After what seemed like an age there was a flash of darkness and the chanting stopped. Mecca, breathing heavily opened his eyes and looked at Covet. Whatever it was, appeared to have gone.

After it was over, Covet remained with her forehead pressed firmly against his chest, the tears in her eyes rolling silently down her cheeks and falling to the floor. Taking a couple of deep breaths, she slowly released her ears and sniffed lightly as she brushed her cheeks dry. One more deep breath, and she slowly lifted her head to look up into his eyes with a tiny smirk.
"Told you this place had its dark corners," she said softly, resting her hands against his chest and searching his eyes as her fingers lightly grasped the collar of his coat. Her ears were still ringing, but otherwise the silence in the small room was very welcome.
