Peir's eyes looked about ready to fall out of his head, and the moment eh wolf actually spoke he took a few sudden steps back, speachless. "He couldn't gain controle of his mouth for quite a while, making a few odd stammer sounds of confusion before he finally shook his head and clamped his jaw shut.

He still held his staff as though he expected an attack at any moment when he finally looked back at Felicity. "Um... so... guess we should start on lunch," he said.

Finally he understood, Poet was similar but not quite the same. He'd never seen her as another creature at least beside human with a few color and age changes, sometimes funny ears but that was all. "Alright," he said as he went to stand by the fire. She really was a good cook, at least if smell was any indication. He certainly hoped it tasted as good as it smelled. He made a few minor adjustments, mostly turning this or that spit and reallt only because he did not like being idle for too long.

Peir gave a nervous smile down to the three tots who'd clustered about the fire to watch. "Not too close now..." he said in a voice just as nervous as his smile. The small two-legged one put a hand on his own head and looked up at Peir. "Yous horns a' bigger than mine," he said bluntly. "Why?" he asked in that near sing-song voice children attach to the word why.

"Oh, well um... I'm older," Peir said in responce, as though that were enough to satisfy a child.

"So mines'll grow when I do?" he asked and Peir's lips twitched a bit. Kids asked too many questions.

"Um..." He took a closer look at the 'taur and discovered he was a minotuar! "Oh! Well... they'll never be as big as mine... but sure, they'll grow," he said.

"I have a horn too!" The blue hair girl announced.

"Well that's just silly, girl's don't have horns," Peir said, but he wasn't looking at her. He was watching the fire instead, and then looked up to see Felicity. "Ah, hello," he said. Stupid! Don't say hello! "Uh, where do you want to set lunch up?" he asked hurredly.

Peir shot a quick worried glance toward Nessa but was too distracted by the process of helping Felicity move the meat to really pay much attention to her. He thought for a moment she might just be brain-addled.

"Oh, yes of course," he said when Felicity handed him the plate. He seemed to have regained some of his composure. He began helping her dole out the food to the little ones.

Peir didn't notice that Logan had been trying to get his attention until he grabbed the older 'taur's leg and gave a little tug. "Huh? What? Oh... yes?" he said.

"Teach my horns t'grow like yours," he said with a huge grin and Peir rolled his eyes.

Peir flashed a quick 'thank you' grin Felicity's way and started eating. He was surprised that while eating the kids were silent. He guessed they hadn't mastered talking with food in their mouths, at least that was what he was used to whenever he ate with Azure and Kit.

Peir tilted his head, that was just... well... odd. His eyebrow was arched as he watched the trio head off on their own. The day so far had been odd, but nice. He started picking up the children's plates to help out Felicity and waited for her to let him know where they'd take these to wash up.

Synn wandered onto the beach, sheilding his eyes from the bright light. His legs were still slightly unstable, so when his hoofs hit the sand he immediately slipped to the ground. He turned slightly so to land on his right side, away from his already hurt left leg. Sighing with relief and pulling himself up again, he put a hand on the nearest tree to steady himself.

Synn sank back as he noticed other taurs coming to him. He pressed against the tree, whispering to it.
"Don't let them see, for you are wise and know the ways to blend into nature." He murmured, stroking it's bark with one hand while keeping his eyes fixed on the two. His mother had always taught him to be kind to all trees, for they are older than the oldest elder on this island. He loved the trees and trusted them, but never had he asked them to blend him in. He doubted if it would work.
