As the man was tossed around like a sack of potatoes, he thrashed wildly, as seeing the man approach through the curtain of pain, he curled up on the bed, and tried to flinch away from him. All the while he was whimpering slightly, quietly, as he tried to hold himself together. The words were starting to carry through the pain. Someone named Cordelia... and keeping him here. Was this a prison of sorts? What the hell were they doing to do to him?

The man simply raised his eyes heavenwards and rose to his feet, evidently this patient was not going to make his life easy and with that in mind he simply withdrew from his immediate vicinity and took a seat in one of the large armchairs closer to the magical fire. With the distance, he hoped he would somehow calm the injured man's mind and then he would consider working on him again.
"You know, I cannot heal your wounds if you insist on hiding them." He pointed out softly, his gaze trained upon the fire as he allowed his thoughts to dwell upon the current situation - he had to keep the man here, that wouldn't be hard but what exactly was he meant to say to him?
"Welcome to the home of Lady Cordelia." He murmured at last, "I am the resident doctor if you must know." He finished, nodding slightly to himself as it wasn't that much of a lie...

The man remained curled up, though his eyes drifted towards the man, trying to make out the figure, and failing mostly, "W.... who is... Lady Cordelia?" he asked, his voice betraying him, and showing just how wounded, and terrorfied he was at the moment.

"Cordelia?" The man looked rather amused at this question for it had been Cordelia that Roger had walked in with and the healer could only assume that he would have known her identity if she had brought him here, "Lady Cordelia is the woman who brought you here." He responded at last and leant back into his armchair with a sigh.
"You should feel honoured, it is not everyday that she brings strangers to our home." He mused gently and closed his eyes, his thoughts drifting off elsewhere as he waited for such times when Roger would be willing to stop his struggle and allow the healer to help him - until then, the man our whatever he may be would have to remain patient.

Roger frowned. After all, his question didn't tell him much. He just knew some woman, named Cordelia, took him away from Arania... and for... some reason... his mind struggled to remember, and finally, he froze, his jaw dropping.
"I... I... I... I can't... just... oh god..." he stammered out, as what she 'wanted' with him, came through clear. It was definately a new twist on his life, and new things, rarely meant good things.
"Dune... where are you..." he muttered a little, the rogue was, well, strange, but at least nice enough, and he was surprised to find himself thinking about her, much less wishing she were nearby.

"Ah -" It all clicked as his fine hearing caught the name of the rogue, true that Dune had brought him there but said healer knew her by another name. Dune was known by innumerable names and speculation as to which was the true name were always a constant source of entertainment for some of the younger rogues within the guild that the healer's patient now lurked in.
"I believe that the woman you refer to is also known by the name of Cordelia." He offered, giving a slight chuckle as he rose to his feet and made his way towards the bed once more. He slipped his hands into his sleeves as he did so and maintained a slight distance from his patience while he assessed the injuries inflicted upon him.
"Interesting benefactor to say the least - do you have a name?"

"Roger..." the man said, looking away from the healer. He squinted his eyes shut, and clenched his jaw, as he waited for the healer to do his thing. He knew well enough the pain that would be involved with closing his wounds, after all. Besides, it gave him time to think about that strange masked woman he had met. His benefactor, it seemed... for a reason that frankly, seemed, well, out of left field.

"Very good - they call me Roan." The healer responded as he walked towards one of the shelves at the back of the room and then began to mix innumerable ingredients together to create a potent enough potion to paralyse the man and to remove all feeling from his body - he knew it was severe but it would prevent him from struggling as he cleaned the wounds and stitched them up.
That in mind, he also knew that it would mean there would be no screaming and there was no risk of the wounds being torn open once more with fright. He also knew that upon finishing he would simply give another potion to the man that would remove the paralysis but still act as a suitable pain killer.
It wasn't hard to do.
Nevertheless, as he finally made his way back over to his patient, he took a seat on the end of the bed and gave a slight sigh.
"If you have enough strength to drink this yourself then do so, if you do not then tell me as such." Roan began, his amber gaze planted upon his patient as he looked over each wound in turn, "The potion will paralyse and remove feeling from your body so that I may begin my work, I assure you the effects of the paralysis can be reversed and will be when all is finished."

The man's lips clenched shut, and he shook his head. This might be Dune's place... or it might just be a story. Regardless, considering what Dune wanted him with, he wasn't about to drink any strange brews, not at all. He locked his gaze upon the man, and tried to imitate well, anyone strong and sure, to impart the lesson that he wasn't going to be doing anything of the sort.

"If that is what you would prefer." Roan murmured and rose to his feet again, setting the bowl beside his bed as he returned to his armchair by the fire. He was by no means bothered by the man's stubborness due to the fact that in time his wounds would become so painful that he would realise he would need the treatment regardless of the situation.
That being said however, the healer did steeple his fingers together and turned his attentions to the fire, his mind returning to its wanderings as he listened to the hustle and bustle of an apparent celebration beneath his feet in the lower regions of the hidden domain. If the man had not already figured out by now that a rogue would argue that black was white in an attempt to save their backsides or another of importance then the healer sincerely doubted that his patient ever would...

Roger uncurled slightly as the man sat back down at the fire. His eyes watched him for several moments, before his pain clouded mind finally got that he didn't understand what he meant. Thus through clenched teeth he spoke, "Just.... patch me... together without... the drugs..." he told him. After all, it was part of who he was. He never ingested anything like that. He had been patched up like this, from wounds like this, before. Sure it hurt. But... it was just what he believed in.

"You are rather indecisive aren't you?" Roan observed from his place by the fire, his hands remaining steepled as he made it quite clear that he was not about to budge any moment soon, "Twice I offer to heal you and you struggle, the third you ask yourself and are preapred to endure inexplicable pain when I could null it completely and then revitalise your limbs when it was complete."
He released an exasperated sigh as he racked his mind for reasons as to why this man would be of any use whatsoever to 'Dune' and soon came to the conclusion that he must have made an impact on her somehow during her absence - he was hardly desirable physically and besides, he had claim over that part so what was it?
"How did you meet her?" He enquired at last as a hint of jealousy crept in to his mind.

Roger's mind raced... for one, he didnt' know if he was supposed to talk about the temple. After all, Dune had been quite, strange about it. She seemed to want it to be a quiet, secure place she could commune in alone. He could understand that. That's what he was doing, when he met her, after all. It wouldnt' do to let more people know about that place...
"I... met her on the road... she saved my life... twice..." he told him. "Then... he... someone... was doing this to me... she saved me... in return for... um..." he muttered, blushing unseen due to the blood that covered him, "... nightly activities... or so it sounded..." he whispered.

Roan's blood boiled and he promptly closed his eyes as his jaw clenched. He fought for control over his anger and after a few moments he released a deep breath, mulling over each of his words before beginning to chuckle - she wouldn't want that sort of thing from a wimp like him, there must have been something the healer was missing and after a few moments he concluded that it would be better to ask at a later date when he could speak with the rogue in private.
"I sincerely doubt she meant it to be serious, she is a rather good actress when she needs to be and if the situation was dire then she would use said skilsl to the best of her abilities." He explained to the man as if to reassure him and himself at the same time - she couldn't want someone so weak as his new found patient...Wasn't possible.
"All things considered, if it was the quickest way to get rid of the man then it was probably the best move she could have made." He muttered, again to reassure himself more than ever.

The man shook his head, as though he was trying to make sense of it himself, "I... dont' really get why though... I mean... there's no reason for her to care about me one way or another... I don't... know why she came to help me... much less claimed me like that..." he muttered, unable to fathom it indeed. He barely knew her. He owed her, as is, now owed her even more, and... that man, he'd be back later, after all. And he doubted she'd keep him around enough to prevent that.
