spuntino That's exactly what it is. It's also bad for your skin, since it's there to protect the layers underneath. If you remove the top layers, you're more easily prone to infection and further sun damage.
Anyway, there's no real quick fix for a tan. You just have to wait for it to fade. Bleaches and soaps can be just as harmful to your skin as scraping. Additionally, bone white skin is not healthy at all even if it is your "natural" tone; you need at least 15 minutes of direct sunlight every day to properly produce Vitamin D so you can process calcium. You're going to get a bit of color in your cheeks with that. Taking vitamins can help, but unless you have a severe skin condition, sunlight really is good for you and a bit of color in your cheeks is better than not.
I still have no idea why people are obsessed with being so damn pale. o_O
yeah.... I'm ghostly pale and i wish i could get a tan. I have very fair skin so i'll burn if i try.

I have tan skin as well. I think I inherited it from my dad, because he's tan-skinned whereas my mom's skin is very pale (which is unusual for a Vietnamese). I wear a jacket all the time and put on sunscreen before going out, but my skin is still tan. sweatdrop My skin lightens up a little around the winter season, but once summer hits, it's back to being tan again. I know I didn't use to be tan because in my childhood pictures, I had lighter skin.
