"No, never," replied Nereida, lowering her voice. "We'll make sure he knows his place."
"Oh, so now deflating my ego involves swear words?" Silverah replied, laughing. "My kryptonite is rap music, not the words in it."
"Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty," answered Darsais enthusiastically. "Mom got me a tape of it once. What's yours?"

Gage looked solemn for a moment, in agreement with her. He didn't know much about Jack Sparrow, but he knew that whoever he was, when he came around, he'd be younger and therefore, not the captain. "Well, I'm sure he'll understand, seeing as how he is the youngest."
"I'll remember that for future use." Ronnie chided, she stretched a bit in her seat and began to eye Gage's chicken sandwhich... it couldn't be all that bad could it... probably... best not to go there...
Well... Dierdre had only seen two ballets, and The Nutcracker was definitely out as a choice. "Swan lake," she replied. "I've only seen the ones they air on publice television." Which of course she'd have to remedy soon.

Nereida smiled. Gage understood her method of thinking. "He'll have to work his way up." She paused and took a tentative bite of her sandwich. "I've got a boat... well, more of a raft, but it doesn't have a name. Captain Canary and first mate Goldeneye Gage can't be good pirates with a nameless boat. Any ideas?"
"I shouldn't have said that," muttered Silverah. Luckily it had been a lie.
"Oh, me too. But sleeping beauty hasn't been broadcast in ages," replied Darsais. "They're both Tchaikovsky's."

Naming a boat? What did you call a boat? It wasn't like a person was it? Still, it was his duty as firstmate to contribute ideas... but perhaps he'd need a better view of the raft... er... boat. "Well, what does it look like... captain?" He added.
"It's okay," Ronnie said, "I'm not overly fond of rap music either, some of it's alright, but I'd much rather listen to something else... like showtunes!"
"Are they?" Dierdre asked airily, she wasn't quite sure who this Tchaikovsky was, but he apparently wasn't all that bad. The music was rather lovely and the dancing beautiful. "What other one's has he written?"

Nereida frowned. "It's just a raft with a rudder in the middle. I'm gonna get a real boat someday, though. And we can call it whatever we want. How about... Lady Luck?"
"Showtunes are the best invention in history," replied Silverah with utter seriousness. "You think I work at the theater on the island and don't love them? It's a requirement."
"Just the nutcracker," replied Darsais, kicking her legs against the booth bench. "And some operas."

"Lady Luck seems a bit of an odd duck for a raft. I think it belongs to something much grander. A raft needs a more... earthy name, like the black wind or something." Gage didn't really think his idea was any better, but it was the best example he could come up with.
"Showtunes are love!" Ronnie enthused, "I adore musicals, I can't count how many I've seen at the island theatre! I keep telling myself that the next time they hold an open audition I'll go in."
"Operas? I don't really like those. Ronnie says I'm just too young to understand the meaning behind them, but all I know is they hurt my ears some times." Dierdre said, deciding to poke at her salad a little.

"The Black Wind is perfect!" exclaimed Nereida, clearly liking it. "Gage, you're a genius."
"You definitely should," Silverah said. "I've done a lot of shows with them. It's a lot of fun."
"I don't like operas, either," Darsais replied, scrunching up her face. "Just fat ladies singing about lost heroes."

Gage smiled hesitantly... was it really a good name? He didn't know... but you know... go with the flow. "Well if the captain likes it, then it must be good."
"I think I may have seen a few with you in them." Ronnie tried to think back at some of the shows she'd seen. More often then not, she knew the musical well enough to not need to open the program.
Dierdre nodded her agreement, "Yes, and who wants to see fat ladies... ever?" She giggled and poked more at her salad, no it didn't look like she'd be eating it.

"It's a superb name for a pirate raft," grinned Nereida. "And we shall have its premier voyage as soon as possible."
"Everyone has, whether they notice or not. I'm one of those lucky people who can change my entire look with glasses and hair dye."
Darsais giggled. "I don't. Especially not at the beach in eensy-weensy string bikinis."

Getting into the swing of it, Gage smiled back, "And where are we headed for captain?" He'd have to do some studying and see where they could get to on such a simple raft. Maybe some nearby island.
"What a wonderful talent!" Ronnie gushed, "I've not been brave enough to do anything more with may hair than use temporary dye. And even then... I'll usually wash it out right away. I'm all about wigs for dressing up."
Dierdre pulled a pained face. "Ugh, they look like beached whales, it should be against the law for people that fat to wear such little pieces of clothing. It'd save us all from sore eyes."

"Well," said Nereida, considering it, "There's a cove near my house that's pretty cool." And there wasn't a sea monster there anymore.
"Wigs are nice, too," shrugged Silverah. "When you need to go from short to long in an hour."
Darsais giggled at the description and nodded again. "And fat men with hairy stomachs should be required by law to wear shirts.

Gage was thinking something a little more adventurous, but merely nodded in agreement. "That would make a good place to hide things... er pirate things?" He really didn't know how this was all supposed to work.
Ronnie picked at her hair, "Yeah, it's just a nice swtich without fearing permanant damage. Although..."she gestured to her dull hair, "not much could be worse, you know what I mean?"
"Ugh, what a horrid sight. You'd wonder what went through the minds of such people, surely they realize they're fat and gross. If I were that way," and god forbid THAT ever happening, "I would not want to showcase it for the world to see."

"There's a cave - you have to swim in and then it's dry - that'd make a great place to keep treasure. It's only below the water line at low tide. Otherwise the entrance is underwater, but the main part's not," Nereida informed him. "We should use it."
"Your hair is fine. You just need a new style and better products," sympathised Silverah. "And it'll look great."
"Ew, neither'd I," answered Darsais, though she could not picture tall, thin Deirdre as fat.

Well the cave sounded really cool, but... the swimming to get there? He'd have to work harder at it. Still, if his gut was right, they'd have a lot of fun adventures there! "What type of treausre would we put there?"
"Good haircare products are too pricey though, and I've got mouths to feed. It's alright though, it's not like I'm trying to impress anyone. My hair has served me well, it hasn't fallen out yet, so it's working just fine." Ronnie laughed.
Dierdre was slightly jealous of Darsais, she didn't have to worry about getting fat... her body's were built to her specifications. That would be an amazing advantage in the modeling world, which was where Dierdre strived to find herself. "Let's promise then, never to get fat... ever!"

"Stuff," said Nereida, and left it at that. She really had no idea what treasure consisted of. Gold and thingamabobs, probably.
"Well, how does it go? If it ain't broke don't fix it," laughed Silverah.
"No beached whales!" replied Darsais, which was her way of agreeing, even though it wasn't her problem. She'd had her basic dietary needs explained to her - regular amounts of sugar on a regular basis - but she knew it would never cause her to gain weight. She'd just store too much energy. There was a thought. Could too much sugar make her short circuit? She'd have to ask.
