Keiko knelt on her knees, wincing as she felt the hard wood through the thin cushion that she was kneeling on. She was tempted to just pick up the cushion and throw it at the shoji door, or at Koenma--didn't he know that Yusuke had nearly promised--promised--that he would stay in the Ningenkai with her except for the Makai Tournament? Didn't the ruler know that she had waited forever for Yusuke, and now he had to go risk his life to save the world--again? Needless to say, she was seething.

She glanced around. Yep, the entire gang seemed to be there--Kuwabara, Kurama, Genkai, Yukina--even Hiei, who she wouldn't have expected to show up in a million years. Did any of them know how she felt? Keiko almost felt as if she was about to burst into tears any moment now.

Kurama, however, was almost opposite. He was the very picture of calm--or at least, that was how it seemed. Inside, he was lost in his thoughts as he waited for Genkai's words of parting.

It's been a while since we've been all together like this, he thought, remaining perfectly still on his knees. And, needless to say, this reunion is ironically solemn. His emerald eyes scanned the room, resting on the Reikai prince.

I wonder why Koenma didn't choose a new Reikai Tantei after Yusuke was fired. The suspicious thought lingered in his mind.

"Yusuke, calm down," Kurama finally said, breaking his own solemn silence. "We've all been through Master Genkai's death once before...but this one will be permanent, and much more peaceful." He glanced at the psychic, then back to the anguished ex-Reikai Tantei. His words sounded cold, but those who knew him knew he meant well.

"And," he reminded with finality, "this mission does not really concern Genkai."

"Um, Yusuke," Keiko finally spoke up. "Who said Genkai was dying in the first place?" We all knew, that since six years ago, she was getting old and losing her strength, but she isn't teetering on the brink of death.

...She has a good point. I don't recall Genkai ever saying that she was about to die, Kurama thought, slightly amused despite the situation.

Keiko looked on with a worried expression, though it was unclear for whom the worry was intended--Yusuke or Genkai. By now, she had stopped wanting to burst out and cry, or just plain throw a temper tantrum like a three-year-old. This is Yusuke's life, she reminded herself. And I can't control it for him.

So, she subjected herself to waiting for Genkai's words. One part of her dreaded what was to come, the other told her it was fate. And it definitely was.

Yusuke turned to see Keiko as she was looking worriedly at him.
" Keiko.."
He said quietly. "Maybe you shouldn't have come here. This is me and the rest of the spirit detective's fight, not yours. Keiko.
This will turn out alright in the end.. I know it."
He said, now trying to confort his worried girlfriend.

((Thankies!!! By the way, I suck at typing irish accents so if you cant make out what i'm typing i'll translate if it gets too illegible. I'll tie in Jin & Touya when the plot starts kicking up.))

SOMEWHERE IN MAKAI.....

The forrest region of the Makai had become awfully quiet since the new ruler came, probably because the loud and noisy demons were terrorizing ningenkai at the moment. In fact, it was so quiet one could hear an ice apparition let out a sneeze.

ZOOMING IN ON THE FORREST NOW....

"Y'now, I herd once thut whun yeh sneeze sumun' is talkun' 'bout yer uncle." Jin exclaimed with his almost impossible to understand irish accent as he floated alongside Touya. "The saying is when you sneeze somebody is talking about you stupid. Besides, that's just a myth." He replied to the former ex shinobi cooly, How he managed to ever perfectly understand what Jin said even he couldn't explain. Although Jin was insulted by the ice apparition, he still kept his merry grin on his face. The two kept walking at a steady pace, -or floating slowly in jin's case.- After a while, which was in reality only five or six minutes Jin made the Statement "I'm bored." "Then find a way to entertain yourself." Touya spoke back, rolling his eyes as he started to walk away from Jin. Although Touya regreted saying this Because Jin took this as an oppoutunity to pull touya off the ground and fly into the air. "ACK! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? PUT ME DOWN!! NOW!" He exclaimed frantically, flailing around like a person who was drowning. After a minute or two jin set him back down. "I wes unly jokin'. Eh is'unt my fult yer got aracnaphobia" He replied innocently, "It's Achrophobia you pointy eared idiot, and you know I have little or no sense of humor." He huffed darkly, crossing his arms as he started to walk away again. "Ay! wai up!" Jin exclaimed as he hurried after the small shower cap haired ice demon.

((How's THAT for a first post? My first time roleplaying as the two is a LOONG time. I'm alittle rusty, but i'll get better soon.))

((Yeah, that was my reaction when I first saw touya in the show, I was like "0_o why is he wearing a showercap in his head?" then I saw that it was his hair. Although I think it's just an excuse to hide the truth that it's a showercap hiding his massive brain bent on world domination! Muwahahaha!!))
