"KOS-MOS penfield mapping confirmed..." Togashi glanced back and forth between two monitors. "Thats it girl..." He tried to calm her even though his words would not reach her.

He turned briefly to where Hikari lay suspended in mid air next to KOS-MOS maintenance unit. "Now... I don't know what to expect in there, Hikari. Only Chief knows...but a word of advice, just talk to her..." Hikari nodded as Togashi turned away from her and continued to glide his fingers with ease across the holographic keyboard.

"Now assuming host-separation... diving commencing in 5..."

Hikari slowed her breathing, she knew diving would sort of be like sleeping. Perhaps she would rest her body, only for a little while. She smiled slightly to herself.

"1...0..."

The world felt as if it was being pulled away from her at a rapid rate. Everything becoming black all at once and then her eyes closed. She found herself being pulled into a strange world which began to spin around hastily. At once everything stopped, she opened her eyes and she found herself standing alone, within a flower field beside the ocean. The wind blowing through her hair, and the salt smell from the sea being dragged into the air with the strong smell of flowers. She breathed in for a moment, this was something great about diving. They always enlightened each sense with the environment.

Hikari turned, feeling as if she wasn't alone.

"Right." She began confidently, and then paused upon her eyes catching ahold of a deformed cross in which the familar blue haired android was upon. And before her... sitting was a boy with white hair. She approached him with concern. "Are you alright?" Her voice almost now seemed to echo.

"She's sleeping...still, but she's waiting for you to wake her up." replied the boy in a monotone voice.

Hikari stood next to him and then sat down looking up at KOS-MOS, perhaps he was a program within her to procurate. "She's been sleeping a while, hasn't she?" replied Hikari. And she sort of laughed, "She's getting enough sleep for the both of us, perhaps?" Then she looked towards the boy with a smile.

This time the boy looked towards her, he smiled gently too, his eyes the 2nd brightest feature of him. Hikari's smile faded as she saw his face, had she seen him somewhere before? Maybe not...

All I have to do is wake her up...and then the data transfer between the two bodies will work. She thought, she shook her head and then stood up, the boy watching. "She's sleeping somewhere else...isn't she? This is just a shell..."

The boy nodded to her and stood up as well, "I will help..."

Vynn sighed. At the moment, he wanted to do nothing more than tear off into space and continue his search for her. But that was something he couldn't do; he'd promised these people that he'd assist them in repairing their vessel and give them an escort in to Second Miltia. At least there, he might be able to strongarm some information out of whoever ran the show at Vector these days.

As the lift doors opened onto the bridge, he sighed again. "Well, I guess it's out of my hands. There's nothing I can do right now."

"She's in dive mode right now. Who knows how long this may take." Rose confirmed to a 100-series. The realian nodded, turning her head and made her way off of the main panel's launch. Rose watched her for a moment as she carried away several reports within her hands and then dissapeared behind the wall that lead down into the area where the 100-series continuously worked their hearts out.

Rose turned again resting her elbows against the panel and sighed heavily. She wanted to know what was going on with the Captain's private venture at this moment. Of course she knew what was going on, but was the Captain okay? Perhaps so, Hikari was after all a strong woman and determined at that. It wasn't like her to be cut down so easily.

Her head turned upon hearing the lift.

arrow KOS-MOS Encephalon

Inside the Encephalon, Hikari was traveling at a slow pace in a world she recognized before. The Encephalon was reconstructed in a matter of minutes to fit that of a dream she had frequently at night. She was in outer space... not floating but rather walking upon crystal steps that appeared out of no where whenever she stepped. And behind her the white haired boy followed closely, and from time to time he would tell her to watch her step, and she would listen.

But soon she came to a dead end, no longer would the crystal plates appear before her, she felt afraid to step foreward.

"It's hard, I know... but don't be afraid." The boy said behind her.

"But..."

Hikari felt unimaginable fear and then after a moment a light appeared and the image of a young woman with red brown hair appeared.

"Wait..." Hikari stepped backwards bumping into the boy behind her.

"Don't be afraid." The young woman replied.

"Who...are you?" Hikari stepped forward and up walking a little closer to her even though the crystal steps did not appear.

"Nephilim." The girl replied.

"Nephilim." repeated Hikari. "Do you know where she is...?"

And Nephilim nodded, "Why do you want to wake her?"

Why did Hikari want to wake her? For Shion? For the sake of humanity? It was all of these reasons and more. "She can save us...I am..."
The space around them faded to reveal a tomb and the cross where KOS-MOS had once been strung on. From the tomb there was a faint light glowing. "She's waiting." The white headed boy murmured.

"Go on..."

Stepping out onto the ship's bridge, Vynn randomly began to softly hum the main verse of a song he had heard called 'LONGING.' While trying to keep his voice down low enough so as not to disturb any of the working crew, he began to look for anyone fitting the description that the captain had given him of this Rose.

And, well, that didn't take long. Cos there she was, right in front of him, looking right at him. Sure, Captain Eyanami had told him more or less how to recognize her, but the plain fact of the matter was that the only person he'd ever seen in his life before with red eyes was KOS-MOS.

And that minor resembling detail caused him to stop and stare at the poor girl for a full minute.

Rose paused for a moment as well, allowing the strange man before her to continue to stare. She then stood up, "Is there a problem, Captain?" She made her way down towards him brushing her pink hair over her shoulder, "I take it you've never seen a custom grade realian...this is of course, judging by the look you are giving me."

She crossed her arms, even though she was a realian it was hard in this day and age to tell who was and who wasnt. For the style of this day was for some girls to dye their hair and wear some sort of colored contacts or have surgeries to change their physical appearance to that of a Realians.
But the truth about Rose was that she was quite unique from the rest. For one thing her body was similar to that of a humans. However she was equipped with her own personal Hilbert Effect and held a unique system of programs.

Some such as combat, cooking and cleaning, statistics, and a short range D.S.S.S. One thing that Rose prided herself in was that Hikari had created her without an emergency override code. And she was free from the dictations of the government and followed only Hikari's orders and her heart.

Rose sort of smiled to the man and then made her way to his side to lead him up to the main panel, "I must apologize for the short meeting with our Captain, she makes quite a habit out of cutting private meetings short I'm afraid. I hope you don't mind speaking things over with 2nd in command."

He shook himself out of his trance and gave her a rueful grin, scratching the back of his head nervously. "Ah, no, that's not it. It's just that you're only the second person I've ever seen that had red eyes. And the first was kind of...important to me."

Shaking his head as if to clear it, he stepped off the lift and followed her up to the control console. "I understand perfectly that sometimes one's duties tend to interfere with other things, so it's no problem."

The Bridge of the Eldridge

She forced a smile shaking her head, "The route to 2nd Miltia will require a double gate jump from this point." Rose began. She held out a delicate hand and a hologram appeared above the console with their coordinates mapped out as well as the star systems name. "I have decided that this is the best course of action due to the unusual Gnosis and Zilart phenomenon. However we are still at risk." She lowered her hand and the holograph faded. "Zilart are able jump into hyperspace as you probably know. And it is quite a problem for us...and with limitations on our ship due to malfunctions of sorts, battle in hyperspace is clearly out of the question."

Rose turned away from Hano looking out into the star clusters. "Let us hope... it does not come to that."

KOS-MOS Encephalon/The Awakening Part 1

Hikari approached the crypt slowly, reaching out with her left hand. The glowing light grew slightly brighter as she approached yet she hesitated. What would she unleash if she moved the crypt's cover? She pressed both hands against the flat cold edge however her eyebrow's knitted together.

Hikari... She heard a gentle voice and then hesitated. She looked up staring at the boy and Nephilim and for some reason she knew his name. chaos...

chaos watched her for a while, and then nodded his head gently to her as if giving her the 'okay' to proceed with moving the crypt's cover. Hikari nodded back looking down at the crypt's cover, she persed her lips and began to push with her weight, the lid moving off with ease. Inside the light faded, and the smell of flowers was strong. Hikari reached forward into the crypt, "Now I know how Shion feels..." she murmured.

Hikari was staring at a beautiful woman, her hair was a light blue, her skin slightly pale and her figure athletically built. It was strange, how she had finally come all this way to pause just for a moment to watch her as she slept. "Shion, told me so much...and she was right." Hikari pressed a gentle hand against KOS-MOS' face, it was warm and soft like human flesh.

"Good Morning KOS-MOS...my name is Hikari," She paused for a moment and smiled pulling her hand away, "Ye Shall Be As Gods." KOS-MOS' body had begun to glow once more, her eyes opened revealing a crimson red.

The Bridge of the Eldridge/Attack

"Massive gate-out to occur in 3 minutes!" a 100-series shouted. The alarms had begun to go off, Rose's eyes flew up in front of her to where the 100-series hands were rapidly typing. She turned to Hano with a look of concern, "The Zilart, it's them." She could feel the enemy preparing to pull out from hyperspace.

"100-series observational units, Sensory status report!" Rose demanded.

"There are a massive amount of Gnosis combined with Zilart prepairing to gate in-"

"Activate the energy shield! Whatever happens keep them out of the reach of the Containment Area!"

Rose threw herself into her regular seat, "Captain Hano!" Rose reached into her pocket for a small see-through card and threw it his way, "Captain Hikari! She's in Containment Area A, she may have that weapon but theres no telling if it's functional yet. The card will get you anywhere on the Eldridge, go to her!"

"Hyperspace battles are a pain in the a**." He smirked, then shook his head ruefully. "The Intrepid interacts with hyperspace on a completely different level than anything that's been done before, so battles in hyperspace are out of the question for us."

He had been about to say something else, a witty remark of some kind, when the 100-series had given her alert of the enemy incursion. His eyes fixed far beyond the bridge, to the point in space where the barrier between realspace and hyperspace was being forcibly ruptured.

He swore a violent oath in a semi-fictional language. "Bastards must've found a hole in our web of Ession mines." As he was about to pull out his Connection Gear to give orders to the Intrepid, it was then that Rose handed him the clearance card, along with the strongly-voiced request to get to the containment area.

Turning the card over in his hand, he nodded to Rose, then stepped back onto the lift to ride it down to the lower level.

"Sensors, give me a report!" William bellowed, standing in the center of the command walkway.

"Massive fleet of Gnosis and Zilart forcing their way out of hyperspace directly ahead. Numbers are still coming in, but we're reading upwards of three hundred."

"Guns, begin computing firing solutions for a blanket of cover fire to thin their numbers. Starfighter control, launch all AGWS, AMWS, and send the fighters to protect the Eldridge. Weapons, focus our shield sphere forward and keep an eye for any enemy units trying to flank us. Prepare the Hilbert Device. As soon as the last of them comes through, blanket this entire parsec."

"Turbolasers charging to full power, sir! Proton torpedoes locking!"

"AGWS are away! AMWS and fighters are continuing to launch!"

"Diverting shield power!"

"Charging Hilbert Device! Amplifiers online and at one hundred percent capacity!"

William smiled a cruel smile. "Somebody send the Captain's ES to the Eldridge. We all know he'll be wanting to stain that armor with their blood this time."

Laughter ran across the bridge crew.

"Activating Mobile DOLL system on the ES Streich." Pause. "Orders to transit to the Eldridge received and confirmed. ES Streich is launching."

"Let's show these aliens who runs the show around here..."

"Please present Class S security clearance card."

Dispassionately, Vynn slid the security card Rose had given him through the reader, then switched it to his left hand and grabbed hold of a rail running along the ceiling.

His entire body was tingling, and he knew it was because he wanted to be out with the squads in his ES, tearing apart the enemy at close range. It was only when he stood back on the bridge and watched the battles that he lost his mind; in his ES, the ZERO System kept his mind focused on annihilating the enemy.

A buzzing from his pocket caused him to withdraw his comlink, a device reserved for emergency or battle situations for communication with his ship, since Connection Gear could become overwhelmed and swamped with calls.

"Hano."

"Captain, we're deploying the Streich to the Eldridge via the Mobile DOLL system."

"Understood. I'll retrieve it shortly; the crew wants me to have a look at a new weapon of some sort. Personally, I hope they've gotten a superlaser hidden on this ship."

William chuckled. "Understood, Captain. We've deployed our mobile squads, and we're sending the TIEs to escort the Eldridge and keep her safe."

"It's a shame we didn't upgrade to the squints when we had the chance. Their greater speed would've given them back the edge that the eyeballs surrender against the Gnosis. Hano out."

By the time he'd returned the comlink to his pocket, the shuttle had come to a halt. He made his way down the hallway, again using the clearance card where necessary, and entered the containment area.

Outside of the ship already countless Gnosis and Zilart were zooming in and out through space. And already there were several explosions occuring around the Ethrinill and her escourt ship.

Inside of the containment area, Togashi and the others were shouting at each other to disconnect the program, the alerts and sirens sounding off adding onto the stress that was already in the atmosphere.

"Disengage! Disengage! We can loose the Captain!"

"KOS-MOS won't let her go!" shouted another man.

"Damnit!" Togashi slammed his hands down at the right moment only to hear a strange eerie sound from the black maintenance unit. KOS-MOS was emitting light, the bindings were released. "She's..." Togashi paused. At that moment the ship shook rapidly, as if something heavy had crashed into it port side causing people to loose their balance in zero gravity.

Hikari's own body flew in a direction towards the ceiling, "Hikari!" Togashi raised a hand to reach out for her, a flash of blue whirled by him and he saw her KOS-MOS had jumped from her maintenance bed onto a small pillar and managed to flip backwards catching Hikari before she hit the roof, she forced herself from the roof downards onto the ground and stood up straight immediatly, Hikari tucked underneat her right arm.

KOS-MOS turned her head looking towards Hikari carefully, reading her life signs. She reached up with a tender hand pulling the VR glasses from her face and helping her to stand straight. "Hikari..." KOS-MOS demanded in a sweet like monotone voice.

At once Hikari's eyes flew open, and there was another crash into the ship and she could see several people struggling to hold on while they screamed. She looked up taking control of her own body, in the corner of her eye she caught ahold of a lovely shade of blue and she turned her head slowly. It was KOS-MOS, in the flesh. "KOS-MOS..." Hikari murmured.

"Are you alright, Captain Hikari? I apologize for keeping you within the Encephalon longer then expected. I did anticipate the current Gnosis attack." replied KOS-MOS.

"Gnosis?!" Hikari could now understand fully why the sirens were on full alert. And everyone was being tossed about like clothes in a washing machine. "Are they inside the ship?" Hikari looked back up towards KOS-MOS who remained holding her.

"Not yet, but current puncturing attacks into the ship can cause a breach. The Hilbert Effect has been activcated as of 3 minutes ago." replied KOS-MOS.

Fate had a way of messing with Vynn at critical moments. Like how you fall right into a puddle while you're rushing to work. Or forgetting to save a game in a thunderstorm and losing hours' worth of play time.

The door had opened, Vynn had entered, and then the first impact had hit the ship. In that order. As a result, the Intrepid's captain was sent headfirst into the bottom portion of a console.

"Son of a b***h!" His right hand came up over the top of the console, flailing about before coming down onto the console and using it to lever himself upright. He leaned heavily against the console, rubbing his head irritably. "Dammit, that b*****d had better be dead or I'll make his a** regret it when I get out in the-"

And then he looked up, and the throbbing in his head was immediately forgotten. He shot upright, as much as one could do so in zero gravity, and just stared. As bad as Rose had gotten it on the bridge a few minutes ago, KOS-MOS was getting it ten times worse.

"No way... How in the hells of Barab..."

Lifting himself up, he planted his right boot on the top of the console and used that as a springboard, propelling himself across the room toward KOS-MOS and Hikari. Bringing that same foot up, he planted it on the maintenance bed to bring himself to a halt, still staring.

"Is this for real? Is that really you, KOS-MOS?"

arrow Assault Star Cruiser Intrepid, Bridge; Optional BGM: Panic - Xenosaga Episode I OST, Disc 2

William watched as the last volley of the mass turbolaser fire died out, incinerating more enemies than he could count, and then the batteries opened fire again, more selectively this time. As he watched, a pair of AG-01s roared past the bridge, pursued by a fighter-type Gnosis. A point-defense laser cannon rotated to track the pursuing Gnosis, and a single burst of green energy burned the alien out of existence.

He spared a glance to the right, in the direction of the Eldridge, and watched as the Streich vanished inside the main hangar bay. All around the two ships, AGWS and AMWS swooped through the void, trading fire with the alien attackers.

"Pull the AMWS units back and open the re-arming bays. I want them loaded up with space lasers inside of ten minutes. Let's give the capital ships something to think about until Captain Hano joins the fray."

Upon seeing the man before her, a certain program was recalled in her system, she blinked once, "Yes, I am KOS-MOS." she replied. There was yet another hit to the ship at that time and KOS-MOS remained standing while holding Hikari up. Her eyes moved away from him, there was no time for old memories.

"Continuation of the impacts will eventually cause this ship to capsize. If we are to prevent that and to preserve the lives of everyone on this ship...we must make haste," she paused and looked at Hikari once more, "Hikari, are you able to fight? Your life signs show that you are fatigued."

"I'll be fine, let's hurry, I'm not loosing my ship." Hikari nodded.

"Understood." KOS-MOS released Hikari, "Everyone else stay here. KOS-MOS, Captain Hano." She turned to them quickly, "Follow me, we're going to take a quicker way to the hangar then the use of the shuttle."

"Affirmative."

Hikari pushed herself off from the ground up towards the left hand corner of the room where she made her way towards a hatch small enough for a human man to fit inside without any trouble. She struggled for a moment to unleash the cap by turning the wheel but nothing. A glove hand moved in front of her followed by the gentle voice of KOS-MOS', "Allow me."
KOS-MOS turned the wheel with ease allowing the cap to open quickly. She moved inside rather quickly already taking ahold of a private mapping of the ship.

"Keep going straight forward until you you see the last left, KOS-MOS!" Hikari called into the small tunnel.

"Affirmative." KOS-MOS' voice echoed.

It took only a few moments, Hikari had spotted KOS-MOS turning left rather quickly and she could hear rapid gunfire of what sounded like a Gatling Gun.

"Hano! They've breached the hangar!" Hikari's own voice echoed and she forced her way out of the tunnel drawing out a gunblade like device, she glued herself to the wall for a moment and watched as a Zilart made it's way to her in a roaring fit. She looked up, her eyebrows knitting together and she cocked her gun pushing herself off of the wall with ease while firing. Her bullets managed to peirce it's skull and she used the creature as a mean to control her movements through zero gravity. Her body flipped this way and that and she soon found herself firing at incoming targets.

On the ground KOS-MOS held a Gatling Gun in each hand, firing off sprays of bullets at each enemy flying through the area. Corpses of Gnosis and Zilart raining down upon the Main Hangar and littering it with a rotton smell. Her eyes caught ahold of Hikari who remained suspended in zero gravity without much to push off from.

"Hikari!"

Hikari's eyes caught ahold of one of KOS-MOS' Gatling guns hurtling towards her and she immediatly realized she turned herself in such a way that her feet connected with the weapon causing her to fly backwards towards her E.S. while the Gatling Gun hurtled towards KOS-MOS once more.

She jumped up from the ground reaching out grasping ahold of the Gatling Gun, her fingers tightening and then pulling the trigger on a few Zilart that were on a collision course with her. She paused for a moment, pressing a button next to the triggers of her Gatling Guns. A cartridge from each being ejected.

Her eyes raced up to where the breach had been which was no blocked up by a quick retaliation of enhanced environmental bugs. KOS-MOS turned her head, within the cockpit of E.S. Ephraim, Hikari could be detected. "We must proceed outside of the ship, there is no need for concern for intrusions into the ship."

In the shadow of the Intrepid's shuttlecraft, the pilot peeked out from behind cover with one of the new, long-barreled blaster rifles that had been developed aboard the star cruiser, and let out a cheer at the sight of reinforcements, and the presence of the one individual whom the captain had been seeking for ten years.

There was one last Gnosis, a dual-wielding Armaros type, left between Vynn and the ES Streich. Kicking off the railing, he propelled himself directly at it, drawing his sword from his left side and holding it back over his shoulder as he did.

"Nagareboshi!"

As he reached the Gnosis, he swung his sword out like a baseball bat. Predictably, the enemy moved its own blades to intercept, but the bugger damn sure was not anticipating the force behind that strike being equal to the recoil of a space laser. Needless to say, the Armaros was shot backwards like a bullet from a gun, to impact against the far wall of the hangar, where the shock of the impact liquefied it. [Vynn Overdrive/Shooting Star]

With that threat eliminated, Vynn sheathed his sword and kicked off the floor, sailing up into the cockpit of the Streich. Pulling himself into the seat, he strapped himself and his hands flew across the console, entering commands to disengage the Mobile DOLL mode, to seal the cockpit, and engage the artificial gravity.

"This is the part where I would normally say that this is like the good old days. The bad news is that I was never part of the good old days, so I guess that means it's time to make some good new days."

He tapped three final buttons on the control console.

[Optional BGM: Battlefield - Gundam Wing Endless Waltz OST]

The "eyes" of the Streich flashed their trademark bloody red color as the massive ES stood fully upright, unfurling its vernier wings and spreading them out behind it. Reaching back its left arm, the mech came back with a massive double-barreled laser cannon held in that hand. The right hand reached down to retrieve a bladeless hilt held in a docking station on the right hip armor, connected back to the mech's reactor by a power cable. It didn't power it on immediately.

Within the cockpit, Vynn switched on the viewscreens, which displayed a one hundred and eighty degree view ahead of his mech. "You guys ready to go?"

Hikari hesitated in her E.S. before going outside. Whatever was crashing into the Eldridge was obviously large. She looked down at her humming monitors and into the cool green light that served as her guidance screen and systems. And at her side KOS-MOS hovered and made her way to attach herself to E.S. Ephraim's arm.

"KOS-MOS." Hikari murmured.

"Yes, Hikari?"

"Your battle specifics on your current body are not near enough quality to that of your last body, correct?" She looked over towards her right wing and onto her shoulder blade where KOS-MOS was standing. Her eyes were upon her and then KOS-MOS looked forward towards Hangar door. "Yes...even at maximum output I would be unable to create enough energy to use a Phase Transfer Cannon."

Hikari ran her fingers along the left console of her E.S. "But enough to use your X-Buster? Without damaging your current body?"

"More than enough, Hikari." KOS-MOS replied.

"Right...Captain Hano, our target will be the largest Gnosis, since our mechs are capable of such. Judging by the tremors the ship has been recieving it seems that were being nudged by something on the scale of 'Cathedral Ship'"

Hikari began to move her mech, the wings expanding and slightly opening up as it raised the mech's body several feet from the ground, a soft blue light illuminating from the wings with what seemed to be a hazy light powder of blue following behind, "KOS-MOS, take care of all minor Gnosis and Zilart in any way you see fit. Protect the ships and the crew members of both, understand?"

"Affirmative."

arrow Cockpit of the ES Streich

"Don't you worry none about whatever's knocking on your door. Streich was designed as instant death on wings for anything of fortress size or smaller."

If there was a rulebook for designing and building ES craft, whoever had built the Streich had thrown the entire book out the window. For starters, the cockpit lacked the "suspended in midair" feeling that most ES had, as it lacked the 360-degree monitors that provided a spherical view around the pilot. There was absolutely no holographic technology in the cockpit; every button, lever, and switch was present 100% of the time.

Vynn finished uploading some tactical data and objectives into the ZERO System, then belatedly switched comm frequencies over to the Intrepid. A viewscreen popped up in the upper right corner of his main monitor, displaying William's face.

"I'm about to launch in the Streich. Captain Eyanami will be joining me in her ES, and we're going to blow their command ship out of space. Status."

"All craft have been deployed. We've lost three TIEs, four AMWS, and an AGWS unit. I've ordered the AMWS to pull back, take stands on the ship, and switch to space lasers. I'd originally intended them to put holes in their capital fleet, but now I've got them harassing that Cathedral-class Gnosis that's playing tag with the Eldridge."

Settling his hands over the control joysticks, Vynn sent the Streich marching toward the main hangar exit. "Good work. Now I've got some good news for you, William. That weapon system that they wanted to show me?" He grinned. "None other than KOS-MOS, herself."

William rocked back as if he had been physically struck. "Forgive my language sir, but are you shitting me?"

"Absolutely not." A twist of the levers turned the main camera on Streich's forehead until KOS-MOS, standing on the shoulder of Hikari's ES, was centered in the forward viewscreen, and he transmitted that data to William.

The ES pilot smirked. "Now that we've found our princess, we'd best put on a good show for her."

arrow Assault Star Cruiser Intrepid, Bridge

William nodded once. "I heartily agree with you, sir." He turned slightly, nodding to the communication officer, who opened up another channel to broadcast to all crew and personnel of the ship. "Attention, all hands. On this day, our long-sought mission has been accomplished, and we have found KOS-MOS, alive and well! Let no gunner, pilot, or marine abdicate his duty in any way before her!"

The affect of William's short speech was like there was a Jedi on board who had just cast Battle Meditation. The morale of the combat crew instantly doubled, and countless more explosions of Gnosis began to fill the battlefield.

arrow Cockpit of the ES Streich

Grinning, his mech's eyes glowing a bloody red color, Vynn brought the Streich right up to the edge of the hangar bay, pausing to look out at the battle raging before him.

"Hey, KOS-MOS," he said over an open comm frequency. "I spent the last ten years trying to find you. I can't even put into words how good it is to see you again. You may not be able to understand my feelings right now, but know that I'm going to fight my absolute best to protect you."

[Optional BGM: When the Dragon Swims, Everything Dies - Gundam Wing OST, Operation 1]

With that, the vernier engines cleverly hidden beneath the angelic wings of the ES Streich flared, and the mobile suit leapt into space, a dark blue beam of hyper-ionized energy leaping out of the beam saber emitter as soon as it was clear of the ship.

The maroon craft immediately shoulder-rammed a passing cruiser-type Gnosis, stunning the alien long enough for the right arm to bring up the hyper saber and drive it into the creature's head. Leaving the dead or dying creature to drift in space, the Streich turned and brought a fighter Gnosis' charge to a punishing halt with a devastating roundhouse kick, followed by a volley of machine cannon fire to put the alien down.

A dozen space laser beams, any one of them powerful enough to incinerate entire limbs of his mech, shot around the Streich on all sides, vaporizing any Gnosis they came in contact with and continuing on unabated, to slam into the side of the Cathedral-class Gnosis that was playing tag with the Eldridge.

Inside the Streich's cockpit, Vynn switched weapon control mode over to the twin buster rifle and leveled the massive weapon in its left hand toward the equally-massive Gnosis. If his craft were a true ES, capable of Anima awakening overdrives, then the buster rifle would definitely be the third and most powerful overdrive.

The interior lightning of the cockpit changed to red, indicating that the buster rifle's guidance computer was seeking a target lock. On the forward viewscreen, a red targeting reticle slid over the image of the Cathedral Gnosis, searching for the most critical target: its brain. Outside, the vernier engines began to glow white as they prepared to fire in controlled bursts to counter the recoil of the mighty weapon, and the twin barrels of the rifle began to glow an ominous golden color.

Finally, the reticle came to a halt over the upper portion of the Gnosis, three-quarters of the way back, and burned green to indicate a target lock. Vynn depressed the firing trigger.

It was as if a star had exploded in the center of the battlefield, so intense was the illumination of the buster rifle's beam as it was formed, accelerated, and blasted out toward its target in a tenth of a second. The Streich itself completely disappeared to the naked eye in the golden backwash of the weapon, and a beam the width and breadth of five AGWS units standing side by side roared out toward the Cathedral Gnosis.

Anything caught in the path of that beam simply ceased to exist, shielded or not. Nearly a hundred ball-shaped explosions sprang up along the beam's flight path, the result of any of the assimilated human craft used by the Zilart being caught within the ionization splash damage of the beam, but not directly in the path of the beam itself.

All but unstoppable, the twin buster rifle's beam continued on its inevitable date with the control center/brain of the Cathedral Gnosis. Unless God, Himself, was shielding that bugger, it was about three seconds from having a very, very bad day.

KOS-MOS looked back towards the ES Streich. Though her eyes showed little interest her eyebrows knitted together lightly and she turned away on the shoulder of the ES. "To be protected...I'm here to protect."

"What... KOS-MOS?" Hikari turned for a brief moment to look up at the blue haired android. "The air is to thin, switch to frequency."

"Affirmative." Hikari could hear KOS-MOS through the ES.

Hikari reached forward flipping a switch on the side of her panel and her ES shot off into space through dozens of blasts and laser shots. She had manuevered through with ease and paused as KOS-MOS jumped off into space to draw out her own gun and began to contribute to the fighting.

And she quickly weaved her way through the oncoming Gnosis and Zilart, her ES summoning what seemed to be a blade made out of high powered lasers on it's right arm. Hikari's eyes caught ahold of the slight dent within the Ethrinill and the Intrepid was lingering near by giving off it's own support fire.

"It's not as big as Cathedral ship..." Hikari murmured. She pushed forward on the controls and her ES dove down towards the large Gnosis and she could see that Hano was already was attacking.

"Coming." Hikari murmured. She narrowed her eyes pressing up against the controls causing the ES to go even faster. She twisted the handle a bit and the ES' arm raised up driving the beam blade into the belly of the Gnosis and cutting through the tail end. The beam faded and a rail cannon appeared in both hands of her ES she turned at a safer opposite distance from Hano.

The gun had begun to charge slowly, Hikari's eyes flew up at an instant she saw a few small shells of light fly past her ES and into the head of an oncoming Gnosis and then that familar blue haired android managed to flip backwards into space and pulled her body into a ball it seemed for a moment. A large ice like spike bursting from her back and she pulled herself from her fetal position opening her arms, large beams of light spreading out several hundred kilometers past them and slamming into Gnosis.

All the while Hikari watched in amazement at the work of KOS-MOS. The Gnosis were being absorbed, as for the Zilart... some of them had faded from the impact of the X-Buster beams but alot more lingered around and continued to fly about as if they owned the place. Hikari turned back to her next attack, the cannon fully charged she released the trigger from her finger and a slight eerie noise sounded out within her cockpit. The rail gun pulled back slightly and thrust out a small fragment of light at a high speed towards the Cathedral Gnosis and imbedded itself into it releasing an explosion from within.
