Hands, over her mouth. Earako's furious screaming was quickly muffled, then cut off as the pre-teen dealt with this new development. For a second, she was very still, the urge to lash out in some way at conflict with her usual kind persona. She could bite him, she had the fangs to make her point, but that wouldn't look very good in front of Da' or the teacher. And she didn't want to get in trouble!
Finally, she simply dropped, going from standing position to kneeling on the floor, in an attempt to escape the hands on her mouth. She appeared to be done screaming, and from her new spot she found a whole new view. Legs. Anoki. And shoes. Shoes? Why were shoes under the table?

Chath watched as emotions flitted across Earoko's face and then finally she just slumped onto the floor. His hands now empty he placed them at his sides, the room was a disaster he noted and then grabbing a napkin a clean one of course he knelt on the floor and offered it to the Bat girl.
"I am sorry I spilled the drink on your dress." he whispered trying not to be overly loud. "Perhaps you can rinse out most of the stain in the washroom?" he offered at least trying to be friendly, but who knew what sor tof damage he created by his bold movement.

Madeline was besides herself in all of the confusion. Wha-what? Nothing registered. Ruined, everything had been ruined...a once perfect eveing now a disaster, and the culprit behind it all? Why, it was her own "son". Large distraught blue eyes seeked the other end of the table landing on the abomination staring with glee at the scene which lay before him. This...this couldn't be her child. No, D-corp had made a mistake. Send it back, send it back! No, her child had to be that sweet little thing back at home locked up in their apartment, Revon.
A few drops of soup splashed onto her clothes, but it only faintly came to mind the cost of getting this dry cleaned. See, she was rather caught up no in the screatching and crashing of expensive China. Hands covered her ears, and there Madeline remained hunkered down until all was silent...only Chat's whispering cut through the air.
Oh....oh-oh-oh! How wonderful this was. What a kind and dreamy delight. Everywhere along his dark body, black feathers pricked with a shiver of wonderment. The ugly absence it was gone now...it was noisy, movement, sound...even the screaming was lovely. Not to say it didn't hurt, but beauty always brought pain. That lovely white thing made such an awful noise, it stung the inside of his head, but that was to be expected, the moment he had laid eyes on her that night he had flinched. The only thing that caused Keivlos to frown slightly was the smile of the man at the other end. Why was he--? A look from mother brought the raven grinning back at her.
"THE END!" He shouted. It was something that he had his mother often say . 'Whys it ssay the END?' Keivlos had asked more than once after the evenings bed time story, and Madeline would patiently explain, 'Because it means everything is over with...it's finished Keilvos, nothing more to do or say.' Yet, Keivlos being so young still didn't understand the idea. He had given it is own definition, 'The end' it was dead, if there was nothing left to do or say, the thing must be dead. It must be empty, it must be silent...and well if it was dead and silent, he would have nothing more to do here. Impish grin on his face Keivlos grabbed the stake knife on his plate and fled from the room. He would go find his own food…
What to do now? The teacher didn't know if she could face the party guests...this was so--However, she was a lady...and no matter how poor or embarrassing the circumstances, she would not run away. Timidly she stood up, "My...my apologies everyone...Earako, Raven...there is a bathroom down the hallway should you like to clean your clothes."

Only when the teacher had calmed things down did Anoki decide it was safe to move again. He sat up slowly, wiping pasta sauce out of his eyes. It was still thick in his hair and on his shoulders, and the crisp white shirt he wore would never be the same. The fabric was also ripped in two places, on his arm and back, from shards of the bowl. Underneath, the glass had nicked his skin, but not badly enough to cause worry. The worst thing, in Anoki's mind, was the only thing he noticed- that he was coming down with an awful headache, and his vision was slightly doubled if he moved too fast. He barely even registered the fact that Earako was also on the floor, and the red kid as well.
Raven cast a scornful glance downwards. The boy hadn't even sensed the bowl approaching him. His reflexes were woefully below average, and needed tuning. Shaking her head, she looked to the other woman. At least Anoki was well behaved. That bird wasn't worthy of being a raven.
At the teacher's offer, Raven nodded curtly. "I should hope so, Ms. Crossette. While I appreciate that this wasn't your intention, I'm confident that none of us had planned on spending our evening this way. What about the rest of the damage, for instance?"
Uh-oh. After hearing that tone of voice so much, Anoki knew what was coming. Mama Ray wasn't just displeased, she was angry. And bad things tended to happen when she was angry. Maybe it was best to stay on the floor, though he did scoot closer to the other children nervously. If they were in trouble too, for screaming or spilling the drinks, he wanted to help.

If it weren't for a lifetime spent around her 'Aunt' Lithle, Earako might not have understood the dangerous edge in Anoki's mom's voice. As it was, she knew it rather well, though, as it wasn't directed at her, she didn't worry much. She did feel bad for teacher, though. It wasn't teacher's fault that her son was kinda... weird.
But there wasn't anything she could do. And her dress was still stained, and Chath was talking to her, and 'noki looked all sliced up and miserable. This wasn't turning out all that well after all.
Taking the offered napkin from Chath, she rubbed absently at her dress. "It's... It's okay," She murmured, her voice even lower than usual. Screaming had hurt her throat, a bit. "I've got lots of dresses."
That said, she reached out to squeeze the hand that had so recently been covering her mouth. Setting the napkin down, she reached her other hand out toward Anoki. "C'mere 'noki."
Her mannerisms were surprisingly childish, as, for the first time in awhile, she forgot to try and be a lady.
Michael had continued to watch the raven through the chaos, he'd been around Earako long enough to tune out her screams. Or, if not tune out, then grit his teeth and bear it. He watched the boy's strange announcement, and watched him flee his little scene, knife in hand.
Not that it was a particularly sharp knife, but Michael still moved as if to follow him.
Until Raven started talking.
He found him staring at her, reminded, not for the first time, of Lithle. Except, of course, that he liked Lithle.
"Oh, shut up," he told the woman, the earlier mask of civility removed. After all, Earako had messed up. That meant he could too. "Just shut up. I think her nights been rough enough without you pulling the offended ice b***h act."
Turning to Madeline, he offered what appeared to be a genuine smile. But then, he'd just shown he was quite capible of taking on and removing personas without much difficulty. "No offense, but do you usually let the kid run around with knives?
"He doesn't seem like the type that'd use em for whittling."

"I--" Raven's reply was far from what the teacher had hoped for. Once upon a time, Bree had called Madeline 'Ice Queen' but now it was truly apparent just which of the two was the queen around her. Distressed the teacher cast her eyes down and began to wring at her hands. "I'm really sorry--I...it was an accident...he's-- Never in her life could she feel being more ashamed or embarrassed, and the fact that she was getting chewed out by a college didn't help very much. It wasn't apparent weather or not it was a bit of soup which then splashed against the table top, or a few salty tears...but the teacher was visibly shaking. Well, at least for a moment--until shame was replaced by anger.
How...how dare this woman! She had no right to act the way she did, who did she think she was talking to her, her Madeline Marie Antoinette Crossette the Third in that tone! Stormy blue eyes cast up, and like Raven, flashed the woman a look which could freeze blood. "Eh-hem," The blonde cleared her throat, as she built up confidence letting Raven know she was done with being timid. "As I said before Ms. Raven. I am truly sorry...but its no good getting upset over something neither of us could control. As you may have noticed my--charge, " she left out son for now, deciding that linking Keivlos to her name would farther degrade her in Raven's eyes. "Is a little eccentric, it's something I've been working on with him but we still have a long way to go, we should...he is only six after all, barely a child. "
"Now..." Madeline straitened up, and pushed back her curling gold locks, "Instead of being catty with each other, like we are...I'm going to take these two to get cleaned up. " She motioned to Earako and Ana (the poor thing had been so quiet during all of this), whom she both walked over and took by the hand. "Michael, " she called over her shoulder, "would you please make sure the boys are... all right?" Both had taken a nasty hit, especially young Anoki. Thank god D-corp children were built a bit more sturdy than your average child. Not waiting for a reply she wandered away with the girls in tow.

Chath listened with chargin, he hated it when people were angry, it always made him feel very shakey inside. Then he felt Earoko's hand squeeze his and he felt better, well at lest she wasn't angery at him for making a mess of her dress. BUt suddenly the hand was tugged away and Earoko was being dragged off by the teacher. He was left alone with alone with Anoki on the floor.
NOt sure what to do he noticed that both his feet and the young boys ebside him were bare...they better gather their shoes up quickly. "You took a nasty hit there." Chath said turning to Anoki. "You ok?"

No. That man, that infuriating, boring, useless man, did NOT just tell her to- well, she was a lady and wouldn't say it. Still, fury rushed through Raven's veins like fire. If she was any more angry she would have slapped the man, despite him being taller and bigger and most certainly able to do much more physical harm in return.
Instead she simply balled her hands into fists, and let the other woman talk. And to her surprise, the anger began to ebb, replaced by ice. For a seemingly fragile person, the teacher had a surprising amount of hidden confidence. And even though Raven was not getting all the respect she felt she deserved, and some of the remarks- being catty, and such- further got under her skin, Madeline had actually earned a trace of respect. After all, if she had bent to such a simple statement, there would be no use for her.
Unsure of what was going on, Anoki followed the directions of the only one who was adressing him, and crawled towards Earako. She looked okay now, but he was still worried. The red boy looked shaken too. It was difficult to tell how much of it was caused by the food fight, and how much by the aftermath.
And then Earako was pulled away, and Anoki was left facing the red kid. "I'm k-kay," he whispered dismissively. If Raven heard him complain about anything he knew she would just get riled up again. "A-are you? W-we f-fell."
Paying absolutely no attention to the children- after all, if that manwas going to handle it, she wouldn't- Raven closed her eyes and started rummaging in her mind for a cleaning spell. At this point, she couldn't possibly let Madeline show her up. She too, could be a class act and pull things together. Besides, a show of strength wouldn't be a bad thing. It would be better if she had her raw materials, but there were shorthand ways of doing things, and even if she was wiped out for a day or so she simply could not let anyone outdo her.

Earako did not want to be led. She wanted to stay and help her friends and make sure that they were ok. What if they needed her? The teacher had her hand though, and she wasn't allowed to argue. At least, not beyond a half whispered, "But..." as she was lead to be cleaned up.
And she did want to get her dress clean.
For the first time since he'd arrived at the dinner Michael felt awake. It had felt so good to snap at Raven, and almost as good to hear the prim and proper teacher to speak up for herself. Madeline set him off balance in the same way Earako did. She seemed... delicate. And he didn't know what to do with that.
So he did the only thing he could do. He obeyed. Kneeling beside the boys, he frowned. Anoki was bloody, and Chath looked more than a little shocky. Earako did that to people, sometimes. "Ok kids, what's the damage?"

"But nothing. " Said Madeline curtly, yet in a sweet manner. She knew the others would be fine...boys got over these things quickly. You never have to worry about boys much, they wear their emotions on the outside, or at least they usually do. Girls on the other hand...well, they are much more tricky. "We don't want to ruin your dress after all, right?" She smiled at the gentle girl surveying the damage.
Nothing to horrible...at least nothing a paper towel couldn't fix up until she got home and put her dress in the wash. Madeline led them into the bathroom in silence, it wasn't until she was kneeling down cleaning up Earako's clothes that she opened her mouth again.
"I'm sorry about Keivlos," her voice was very soft now. It didn't have the commanding tone it had when she spoke to Raven a minute ago, nor the timid stutter before it. Rather her voice had the same tone that the voice of a mother comforting a small child who had just been upset. "You have to forgive him, even though it may seem like it, its not all his fault. " She looked up at Earako wondering if the girl understood what she was saying. Sometimes it was so hard for children to grasp these concepts..."I don't think he is able to express himself how he wants to sometimes. It must be hard--I can't imagine thinking that my only chance of being heard would be if I were to scream. Ah, there. " she put down the rag and took Earako's had back. "All finished," she gave a small squeeze and her lips curved upward as she brought Earako back to her friends.
"Back." Said Madeline as she looked upon the scene before her, "I was planning to go till eight...but I'm afraid we'll have to wrap this up for tonight. Forgive me for sending you home so early everyone." Oh but really she wasn't sorry...anything to end this mess.

Chath looked up at Michael and then shook his head looknig back to where the girls had ben led off to. "Eh? I....i am doing...ok." he stuttered feeling a bit nervous all of a sudden and he felt a weight settle on his shoulders. Plopping entirely onto the floor he felt very tired. His mother had gotten up now, as if she had been too afriad to move while the teacher was around and approached. She had a napkin in her hand.
"Chath your not hurt are you?" she asked and upon seeing her son shake his head turned her attention to Anoki. She kneeled and then reaching for the closest glass of water dipped her napkin in it.
"Do you mind if i clean you up a bit?" She asked not wanting to frighten the kid. She looked to Michael feeling a bit lost. "thank you for looking after my son." she stated, looking a bit detressed.

Ah. It was always so wonderful to see parents and children helping each other out. It just made Madeline feel all tingly warm inside. Just like sunshine and daisies usually make the rest of us feel that way.
Eventually all affairs had been sorted out and the children and parents had left or were leaving. There were certain things about this whole evening that left Madeline with mixed feelings. Before going she had taken each parent and child aside offering them each private lessons, alone of course, should they like to learn more about manners. Some children had vaguely nodded and looked as if they would prefer to die than re-take a manners class.
Ah well, at least all had not been lost this evening. But for now...where had that raven gotten to.
((Feel free to do an ending post if you want to, however, you don't have to respond if you feel like their is nothing left to say.))
