The man's brow knit in a quick state of confusion. So the boy was a doll? Surely not one like himself, though. From that short glance he had taken of Elliot, he seemed to be dressed far too well. Furthermore, he wasn't kneeling or serving any of those around him. Who would allow their 'doll' to just wander around without an escort? "I don't believe so," he said, thinking doll or not, he should keep an air of respect. "If you don't mind me saying, you appear far too.. fragile to be what I am. Too pure, perhaps."

"... Pure?" he asked, for once a small smile infiltrating his usual expressionlessness, almost like a weak ray of sunlight shining through dark clouds, although this would be a most sickly and nearly poisonous ray. "I... I don't think I'm pure. I am simply here so Mother and Father can have something resembling a child," he said, inclining his head slightly in a mock-bow. "So I am a doll, although they never call me that."

For some reason, Artemis felt almost.. casual talking to Elliot. Maybe it was just because he was a 'doll'. There wasn't the added pressure of making sure he didn't slip up in his actions or words. He could almost hear the presence of a smile in the other's voice although he couldn't see it himself. "Is it nice?" he asked. Quickly realizing the other might not understand his meaning, he clarified himself- "Having parents, that is, and not just an owner." He didn't know why he asked. He shouldn't be and could only hope no one else was really within hearing distance of their conversation.

Kaya Rayvnsong sat upon the roof of a small building, deep in the heart of the Gaulth desert. He could be seen from the ground and the four daughters of Seh-Vhen, the man who had showed him where to wash his clothes for the greatest desired effect, watched him from there. He was sleeping, they knew never to wake him when he dreamed or he would be severely angry with them, more than they could bare. They knew he liked to be alone, but sometimes they would come to check on him. He seemed so very lost all the time.
Kaya knew he was dreaming since his wings had become white again, as they always did in his dreams. He walked the streets of a distant city, one across a great ocean he had never seen in his waking world. He looked around, noticing a few people that stood out here and there. The dolls, the ones who looked so very much like they had no will of there own and only did as they were told."Why must they be so empty? Should they not be allowed to feel, just as mankind does?" he whispered to himself. He continued walking along, now just outside a building that very obviously housed a party of some sort. He noticed two others at least, one was a man who seemed, by his looks at least, to live only for the thrill of battle."He is too distant from those who he can trust and believes he can trust no one." he thought to himself. He knew the feeling all but too well, considering it was all he felt himself these days. He at last noticed the final one.....it was...."SHIYAA!" he shouted and tried to follow the boy. He kept slipping into the mist thought simnce the girls had awakened him at the sound of him screaming.
Not twenty minutes later, he stood before Seh-Vhen and his daughters, Kah-na, Kah-ren, Mi-Sha, and Mai-Yah."I'm leaving. I know where I'm going and I'm not planning on coming back. Don't try following me because none of you could survive the desert and I'm not going to save your hides for you." he told them as he drew his blade. The ethereal metal glittered in the soft moonlight since that was how he prefered to travel."I summon the, Saraphia. Winged guardian of ultimate winds, bless the night with your grace." he called as Shimmer began to glow brighter and a creature that appeared to be an enormous eagle of purest white and gold landed beside him. He sheathed his sword and climbed onto Saraphia's back."I need to be here." he whispered as he placed his hand on Saraphia's cheek and showed her wherehe needed to go."Do you know the place?" Saraphia cooed softly, as if she were a "nightcaller" or an owl.
She took off with Kaya holding her softly around her neck. Her golden and white plummage shone with the moonlight as she skimmed over the ocean Kaya had seen. Not even an hour after having left, he was walking the streets of the city in his dreams."Thank you my friend. Take your leave and now. I don't know when I'll need you again." He stood beside the building where he'd seen Shiyaa while Dream Whisping. No one save for the man who he seen Shiyaa leaving was there."Where has Shiyaa gone?" he asked him quietly as he leapt up into a nearby tree and flipped up to the rooftop. ((I'll describe his clothes next time))

Before he could peek inside to see what was happeneing he was stopped by the guards," Stop... Hmmm. Your such a ragimuffin you can't be magic... Move along,"Harmon did but he couldn't move to far so he settled under a tree near the holding area. He looked up at the night sky and the total lack of stars, "This place's skies are a lot different from Hailo Ginslith," He mumbled. For some reason Harmon wasn't phased by the new place he was now exploring.
He started looking at his twister and remembered what his father said," You know son I used to be in the army at Tialderoth back before I met your mother. I was indifferent about sides back then but I was young of course," he chuckled. Harmon respsonded, "You were young?" he laughed along, "Well... Anyway son when you finally go on your pilgramage I hope you can use this," he gave it to Harmon, "Do the right thing son, and I hope the twister can help guide your way as well as the spirits that guide our village," he sighed.
Harmon stared at the twister and looked up at the sky, "I hope your right Father," he looked at the area staring at the dancing light and the shadows of the people moving around in it. He wasn't sleepy at all so he could continue to stare at the light and shadows that blanketed the area.

:: Dromius awoke suddenly from is state of Zen. He looked back at Kaya and growled a bit with a look of hate in his eyes. Was it so bad to want a little bit of peace and quiet. Before he spoke to the man he noticed the same temperance that he had even more so. He placed his hands on his swords and eyed the man strangly::
"Who the ******** Shiyaa? Sounds like a godamn noble. They like those exotic sounding names. Listen , i dont know who the hell you are but im about to let you knwo who the hell i am. I dont feel like talking and all i want is my peae. So if you please , get the hell outta here before i make you"

"Fine, I won't bother you anymore than to say this. Shiyaa has never truely been a noble, he despises the way they treat others." he leapt into the and spread his wings slihgtly. As he caught the wind, his overlong midnight blue kimono blew out behind him.
He remembered as he flew just why he wore such dark colors now. Seh-Vhen had showed him a spring that never seemed to dry up, and anything that drank from would die an instant death. He had said a fable he once heard claimed that the spring was formed by the river of death passing under that spot. Kaya had made Seh-Vhen leave and stripped down to his birthday suit, his wings wrapped around him somewhat like a cloak. He washed his clothes in the spring and as he did they changed, just as he had. His pearl white robe had become the midnight blue kimono he now wore. The three silver bands he wore spaced along his left arms, had changed into a poisonous green metal, and each bore a single crystal in the serpents mouth. The golden band on his right had vanished until he donned the kimono again. At once, it had changed and become a golden winged serpent wrapped around the kimono. His white sandals had become nearley knee length leather boots. They were the same midnight blue as his new kimono. He had thoroughly enjoyed the new clothes that he wore. Especially since they had become nearly impenatrable. It would take great strength to pierce this armor.
As he glided along the skies, in the direction he had thought he'd seen Shiyaa going in his dream, his bands glinted softly along his left arm and Shimmer seamed to be glowing abnormally in it's sheath.

Elliot frowned softly and then, his voice soft as it always was, replied with his usual answer, "It is nice if I am told it should be nice. They are... they are my parents - they adopted me as a child - but they are... from what I understand, real parents talk to their children... In their minds I am a doll, so that is what I am." He shrugged slightly, forgetting that the other could not see him, his expression a little confused. He couldn't explain it any more clearly than that and he knew the other would most likely not understand.

Maybe this Elliot wasn't so different from himself, afterall. They were both told what their place was in society and that is what they believed -or better yet, had to accept. "Is that what you believe, though?" he asked. "Do you believe yourself to be only a doll?" There was a time before when Artemis believed otherwise of himself. He thought he was more than just a creation. Then again, that idea was forcefully taken away along with everything else he believed was his own.

"I... I am human. This body still hurts when something happens to it, but if I think that way, then I will only be more hurt, won't I? I... I beleive what I'm told to and what makes things less painful..." Amethyst eyes gazed down at the man - the doll? the toy? - and he felt the corners of his mouth twitch up ever so slightly. How unlike himself. He ran pale fingers through his dark, green locks, eyes closing for a moment before they opened again. He shouldn't mess up his hair, he knew. That would make Mother unhappy.

Even though it had been only a few minutes into their conversation, Artemis believed this was the most he had spoken to anyone at one of these gatherings before. "You're right," he said. "Being controlled both mind and body must be less painful." Afterall, whenever he no longer tried his rebellious phases, there was definitely less pain dealt. With a move almost too small to be seen, he shifted some of his weight back onto his foot to relieve the pressure from his knee.

Kaya drifted along in the skies until he tired of simply being in the air. He straightened his wings behind him so that he began to dive toward the ground. Just a few feet from the earth beneath him, he spread his wings and caught the air enough to land softly. As he began walking again, h realized that he had done no more than circle the pantheon building he'd seen before. Against his better judgement since he could hear many more people inside than he cared for, he walked in and actually ended up standing beside Elliot and Artemis not really caring what they said to each other but hearing a bit anyway."You should be glad the pain is lessened by not having a choice in what you are. You may be able to survive a heartbreak as great as mine without the changes I've gone through." and he walked away, looking just as he always did, like he didn't care about anyone but himself. He continued to look for Shiyaa and found him standing not to far from the other two when he just couldn't hold in any longer and shouted out through the roar of laughing, drunken nobles."Shiyaa! Where are you?!".

Elliot looked up as a man's words reached his ears. But he had disapeared before Elliot could get much more than a glimpse of him. He frowned, his confusion returning, and then looked back as the - what should he call him? 'the man who kneeled'? Somehow that didn't seem right.
"Elliot, Elliot!!" The emerald-haired boy turned around to see a young man, much taller than the boy, with dark auburn hair approaching him, a wide smile on his lips. "I've been looking for you, you know? Why ever have you been staying here?" The youth peered over the boy's shoulder and, spotting Artemis, shook his head, a knowing smile on his lips. "Elliot, you shouldn't talk to servants. It's wrong. Come on, I want to dance with you."
Elliot looked confused and perhaps a little reluctant if one have ever been any good at reading his expressions - or, rather, non-expressions - but followed, having no will to oppose the other. He glanced back at artemis once before he followed the man, his hand grasped by the red head's strong fingers.

As always, Artemis didn't lift his eyes with Kaya's comment. Heartbreak? He was not permitted to know such things. It may get in the way of his work. Then there was a new voice; One he recognized well enough to know it belonged to one of the nobles' sons. A boy who even had his small share of making his existence all the more miserable. When he heard the two's retreating footsteps, he closed his eyes. Part of him didn't want the other to leave. It felt good to work out his voice and actually speak to another who seemed to be have at least some similar notions as himself.
But he was alone again, looking at the inside of his eyelids. It was hard for him to remember new faces for he got only short glimpses every now and again before having to avert his eyes.
His concentration was soon broken, however, when he heard one of his Lords call. He didn't hesitate to rise and immediatly walk before the man, dropping into a silent bow. "Pour our Mistress here some wine," he said, gesturing to the full bottle on the table just near them.
Artemis straightened his posture and retrieved the said drink. His gaze remained on the falling liquid from the bottle. That is, until he felt a harsh shove from behind. A quiet splatter and he looked down to see a small puddle of the wine had missed the glass and spilled to the floor. "Oh, it appears you've made a mess," his Lord, the very one who had pushed him, stated. "Clean it up." He waited until the purple-haired servant started off for a rag before adding- "With your mouth."
A burst of snooty laughter erupted around the small group. Artemis sighed inaudibly as he set the wine bottle aside and dropped to his hands and knees. They did this often. Give him little tests, some more humiliating than others, to show off his obedience. Either that or merely for sick entertainment. And without objection, he lowered his mouth to the floor to lick up the vile drink. A series of comments started up about how well-trained a dog he was and if he did any other tricks. Just as always.

Kaya had sank down onto a nearby chair after his outburst. Not a soul had heard him. He on the other hand heard someone calling out to one of the "dolls" he'd spoken to a few moments ago. He watched the noble push him and force him to clean it up as he did. He moved to his feet and walked over."Imballa Inacio." he spoke as he stopped only a few feet from the nobles. The wine bottle lifted from the table and poured itself out over the head of the noble who had pushed Artemis."My sincerest Apologies, sir. I suppose I should be a bit more mindful of how I use spells I haven't mastered yet." He hoped the noble hadn't heard his spell or worse, yet, knew it."Please, allow me to clean this up for you. We don't want you to soil your clothes any more do we." he blew a gentle breeze across the palm of his hand, gathering up all of the spilled wine, including what Artemis was being forced to clean up. He waved his hand toward the nearest door and as if placed back into the bottle and carried, the wine took the form of a bottle itself and drifted outside, where it poured itself onto the ground."There you are sir." he stepped over to Artemis, as if he hadn't noticed him yet, and pulled him to his feet, quickly whispering "You're welcome" to him. Once he was up, Kaya spoke aloud."There you are sir, I hope you didn't hurt yourself with that fall. That red wine can be dangerous." he stepped to Artemis' side and began to dust his clothes off, by hand this time. His tone of voice hadn't so much as wavered from it's usally dissinterested one. He had maintained the control of his voice so well, he thought at least, that the noble didn't hear the sarcasm in every word he spoke to him.
