LittleSora They totally killed the Lemony Snicket, A Series of Unfortunate Events! They used Jim Carey and it killed it! I like Jim Carey and all but he stole the spotlight...which he usually does anyway.. Who else agree's? Yeah, he made you kinda like Count Olaf v.v;; (I like Jim Carey, but he doesn't play bad guys well if it's meant to be serious). And it was a little strange how they squashed it all down into one movie, but better than there being a movie for each book. I do think it was alright, though I have to admit one of my favourite parts was the credits..But that's not because the film was bad, they were amazing credits! scream xp It was quite nice to see how it all ended aswell, since I do like the books, but after the third one it was kinda just the same thing different circumstances, so I stopped reading them sweatdrop

I can't wait to see whether they butcher Eragon or not. I hope they do a good job like how LotR was done (even though they left out Tom crying ), but we'll just have to wait and see. Who else can't wait to see it?

Worst in my POV: Catwoman, The Time Machine, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Fahrenheit 451
Best in my POV: Memoirs of a Geisha, Lord of the Rings, The Great Gatsby, there's more but I forgot them, sorry.... sweatdrop

hmmm most likely harry potter, they cut out way too much backround information and added un-needed changes to the entire plot-line just to have a comedic approach..
personally i think they should have made 2 movies out of both the 3rd and 4th movie and then combine the two halfs into the release of the DVD.

The worst book to movie transition was probably The Series of Unfortunate Events, and Harry Potter. The best was Lord of the Rings in my opinion. Though they missed some key plot features, they made it more exciting than the book was. (In my opinion..)

Wildebeest The worst would be Ella Enchanted. I wanted to cry after I saw the movie. I loved the book, but they changed everything in the movie. The only similarities were the title and the main character's name was Ella.
I actually did cry after seeing Ella Enchanted put on the "silver screen". Very rarely do I have the opportunity to witness one of my favorite childhood books being systematically slaughtered, but in that movie I felt every chop of the ax.

crystalsmuse I forgot if I said this one... But Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy bombed! Bombed meaning good or bad? I thought it was the weirdest book ever, and the movie was just as insanely odd. xd So odd in fact, that I didn't like it at all.. sweatdrop Still, the books were far better, they wrecked the movie for the most part.

V for Vendetta the movie is supposed to be very different from the GRAPHIC novel/comic. V's character and Evey are changed. The graphic novel is a whole lot longer and more elaborate, like any book is before a movie transition. Hollywood had to squish it down for us to watch in 2 hours, but I think they did good about opening up questions. I really enjoyed the "psychological" part and themes of the movie more than the movie itself.
And graphic novels/comics can be pretty elaborate and have adult-ish themes like books, so don't hate on them, k? They're like books. There's the crappy side and then there's the great elaborate side.
