Naraka nods and does as she bids, closing his eyes for whatever reason she has. "Is it um... some kind of... some kind of ride?" He chuckles, and allows himself to be led along.

"Not quite, anyway." Iden laughed, then started forward with Naraka in tow. Right about when he might think they were nearly going to walk into the door, there'd be a..very strange, singularly unpleasant feeling, a little like they were about to be sick.

And as soon as that was gone, there was carpet underfoot, instead of pavement. The dizziness hit, then, like they'd been spinning in circles for too long. They were in the hallway of an apartment building, standing in front of..a door, of course. It was hardly the only one in the hall, there were a few others as well. It was just a typical hallway, really.

Nar grabs ahold of her arm when things start to get queezy, and he gives a horrible shudder, opening his eyes only when he feels himself to be elsewhere. Slowly he opens up one of his eyes and then another, looking this way and that down the hall. "Well, I didn't know what to expect but it certainly wasn't that. Where in the world are we?"

Though she sympathized, she gave a little chuckle. She was used to the feeling by now. "Home," she replied vaguely, teasing, before elaborating, "Scotland, actually."

Letting go of his hand, she slipped the necklace back into her pocket before digging out her keys and setting to unlocking the door they'd appeared in front of.

He gazes up and around him and mutters something about a 'dimension with voyeristic intention' and then he nudges her with his elbow. "You know? The time warp?" To elaborate, he begins to sing quietly and dance around while she's busy with the door. "Let's do the tiiiime warp agaaaaiiin!"

((Err, like she's said, she's got looots of things hanging around. So, mmn, here's what he'd be seeing lounging about. They may or may not all get referred to, but eh...they're around. And Ri, too.
[Sefer] [Tor'en] [x] [Ulare] (nyokiir, housecat-sized)

[Mal] [Turmali/Tori] (kyd, pard; err..pygmy goat size?)

[Rhovan] [Luminita] (shay, daeka; large dog size)

[x] [Alavere] [Dilare] [x] [x] (pooka, likkle bunny size)

[Brightblood] (mouse size) ))

"Oh god, no.." She'd just finished with the lock when he started with that, and groaned, whacking her forehead lightly against the wooden door. But as she pushed it open, she was giggling hysterically.

The door opened into her living room, which was fairly small. Well, perhaps not as small as it looked. It was hard to tell, because it was just so crowded. She hadn't been exaggerating when she talked about all her weird animals. There were a few, housecat-sized, gryphon-looking nyokiir ranged over the room, on windowsills and shelves. Along with those, there were several little things that looked a bit like Ri, only smaller...and Ri himself, lying on top of the TV. On the floor was a tightly-curled ball of wings and brightly-colored fur, that might have been distinguishable as two separate creatures--a black-winged, green cat (the pard Iden had once mentioned) and a purple-winged, yellow wolf. A couple of moderately goat-like creatures were camped out on the couch in the middle of the room.

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, another nyokii came swooping right towards the new visitor, only for Iden to snatch it out of the air, a move that seemed to be well-practiced. "Tor'en!" she exclaimed, holding the hissing and squirming creature at arm's length, by the scruff. "Who the hell let you out, sunshine?"

She turned to grin apologetically at Nar. "Sorry, he's not exactly, aah..friendly."

(( x.x oh my ))

Nar pelvic thrusts himself into the room and stops to have a look around. Good lord, how could she get away with keeping so damned many pets in one little apartment?!?! "Gee, Iden.. are you some kind of hoarder?"

He's just beginning turn towards her when he instinctively ducks, realizing a moment later that something was hurtling down towards him. He scowls at the ornery creature, tempted to hiss right back. "So I can see. What compels you to keep such ill-behaved animals in your house?"
PostPosted: Sun May 08, 2005 11:43 pm

((Eheheh.))

"Err, I guess you could say that. At least it's better than a few dozen cats, right? They just..I don't know. They're like dust, they collect..a lot of them just sort of show up." Iden grinned sheepishly.

"He keeps coming back, the damn thing. The rest of them behave themselves, for the most part, except for silly tricks now and then." She glowered down at Tor'en, then kicked the door shut.

He looks at each one of them in turn, recalling how bitchy the little furry one was. God, they're ugly, mismatched animals at that. He doesn't make comment, though, and instead wanders around, trying to avoid any creatures in case they should decide to give him hell. He wrinkles up his nose at the smell of all of them mingling together. "I can't imagine you have a hell of a lot of time to yourself, trying to take care of all these.. things. Don't they ever fight?"
PostPosted: Sun May 08, 2005 11:52 pm

"They really don't need a lot of taking care of. Most of them just sort of come and go, anyway." She shrugged, walking over to one of the two windows in the room. Setting Toby down, she opened up the window and tossed Tor'en outside, shutting it before he could decide to come zooming back in. "Sometimes they do, but usually just Ala and Di." She nodded to the antlered pooka draped over the arm of the couch, and the darkest one, resting on a bookshelf.

The animals are all mostly awake now, and peering curiously at the visitor. None of them seem in the mood to move or disturb him, though.

"Oh, I see....." He pauses near the pooka he'd 'met' the other day, wondering at how Iden managed to attract all the most awful characters. Does that say something about him? He gives a shake of his head and turns back to poke around and look at her furnishings. "You put that thing outside? Aren't you afraid of him hurting someone?" He glances towards the window as he has a seat on the floor.

Ri started to raise his head and say something, but realized he was still supposed to be ignoring this person, and closed his eyes. His tail dangled over the edge of the TV, swaying slowly.

"Not really, no. He only goes for people who come in. He'll just..go hunt bats, probably." She frowned, scratching her head. "I'm, err..sorry about them all..."

By this point, there was something to be heard stirring from the other room. Vlad, presumably.

In response, he merely gives a shrug. Perhaps it was less of a pet than an oddball visitor. "So this is just Scotland, huh? The way you talked about it, I wondered if you didn't live in hell or somewhere similarly awful. You could get here an easier way than however you did it, you know. Our shop door has a similar trick. You just walk out wherever you want to go to. It's how people like Yume managed to find the place. I never quite figured it out myself, but you could easily go to there from here and visa versa. I wonder, if it really came down to it, now that I've been here, but I'm not just going to walk into your house uninvited. I don't know how well it works for people who don't come from.. that place, if that makes any sense."

Nar cocks an ear at the sound from the other room, but only supposes it to be another pet. "They aren't very friendly, are they?" he mutters, looking at the pooka.
PostPosted: Mon May 09, 2005 12:15 am

"Does it? Huh, damn. Pity I didn't realize that before. Ach, oh well. I know now, anyway. Thanks." Well, didn't she feel stupid?

"They're lazy, and sleepy. Once they're really awake, and they've decided they like the look of you, they'll see about getting acquainted." Already, the shaggy blue pooka was starting to venture forward, ears up as it sniffed in the vampire's direction. If Nar were to pet it, he'd make the possibly unpleasant discovery that it's fur was somehow naturally wet.

Finally, Vlad emerged and leaned quietly against the doorframe, his expression unreadable as he eyes the company. He was shirtless, revealing an upper body with a fair few scars, reminders from early in his warrior's life, before he'd become a vampire.

Nar watches the pooka approach, but doesn't venture to pet it. Instead, he gets up and wanders over to the window, peering out. He'd never been to this part of the UK and is intensely curious as to what it looks like. There's not a whole lot to see, though, from the aparment window. He didn't really know what he had expected. "Is it nice here? I hear Scotland is very pretty. I'll forever prefer the forests of Romania and India, though. And the open ocean. Those are the places I've felt most at home for a variety of reasons."

He glances over at the appearance of the other vampire and gives a nod and a pleasant 'good evening', before he looks back out. "Does it get misty here? I spent a little time in England and it got awfully thick some nights. Maybe we can go out later? It looks nice." He drums his fingers on the windows and stands on his tip-toes, trying to see the street below.
