Apart from beneath the great dark blanket of the nighttime sky, there were few places that Aysel adored more than within the covers of a book. The second she'd found a spare period of time, she'd quickly found the library, intent on finding those books on astronomy that Professor Elias had told her about. She'd snuck in so quietly, however, that she didn't think even the librarian had seen her, and was now wandering the vast corridors of literature, letting the fingers of one hand trail lightly along the spines of hundreds of books as she passed them. After a time, she ceased to look for astronomy...or for anything in particular, simply choosing to wander and explore this marvelous place.

Antigone was doing muc hte same, lost in her own thoughts of knights and dragons, of kings and queens and adventure... Oh, how she loved to read. How she envied those who wrote the books she read. She had so many... ideas in her head that she was all but bursting, but not matter how she told herself she was going to finish an idea when she set it down on paper, she rarely ever went back to them. She had reams of paper full of ideas, dialouge, descriptions... But nothing solid. Lost in her thoughts, she nearly ran straight into Aysel. Blinking golden eyes, she registered who it was in front of her, and a large grin curved her lips upwards. "Aysel!" she squeaked out quietly, happily.

Aysel's eyes snapped forward, and she stumbled back a step, eyes widening before she realized who it was. When she did, however, a slow smile spread across her face, one of the most unguarded she'd given to anybody since the time she first woke up here. "Antigone." she replied with a polite nod, eyes dancing. "I had hoped we'd be able to meet up again, but I didn't think it'd be so soon. What brings you to the library..?" Hmmh. Odd, how she wouldn't expect to see her lovely Sanguine friend here in a library...but then, she didn't exactly know much about Anti, now did she?

"I love to read," the Sanguine said simply, shrugging her shoulders and grinning. "So many words and worlds and characters to know... It's like having your own private life, and you can visit it whenever you want." A soft blush stained her cheeks then, and she offered a sheepish smile. "Sorry, I get carried away. What are you doing here?"

"Don't be sorry..." Aysel told her with a hesitant smile, "I love books too. But...I'm here because Professor Elias had said that there were books on astronomy here...and I just love that class, and the stars in general...but I have to admit, I started forgetting what I was looking for in here, what with...the vast quantity of tomes this library holds. It's amazing, isn't it..?" she trailed off, turning to peer adoringly at the shelves upon shelves of books around them.

"It is amazing," she said, sounding a bit breathless, letting her finger tips trail alone the leather-covered spines of the books like someone would caress a lover's cheek. "I want to read them all. I want to write some of them." Pausing, she flushed an even brighter shade of red. "But I don't have the time or patience. So I shall content myself with simply reading them... And maybe teaching them, some day."

"Teaching? D'you want to be a teacher?" She asked curiously, wondering why she too was flushing as she watched Antigone touch the books. It felt indecent, somehow, even though Anti had only been admiring a book. With an embaressed cough, she looked away, scanning the shelves so as not to look at her friend, for worry that she might scorn Aysel.

"Yes. I'd like to be a teacher, some day. Or perhaps head Librarian or something... Anything to do with books, and will let me be around people." Letting her hand fall, the young Sanguine smiled happily over at her friend. "And what about you? Do you have any plans for the future?"

Aysel's face fell as she remembered the promise she'd made to herself while she was on the fieldtrip, and sighed before answering softly. "I'm going to find a way to free the Scorched Souls...there has to be a way, even if nobody has discovered it yet." To her alarm, she felt tears gathering in her eyes as she recalled the mournfulness of the tragic spirits, and quickly blinked a few times to dry her eyes...though she suspected it hadn't worked.

Antigone recalled the souls with great clarity and sorrow, and she nodded softly. Reaching out, she gently touched Aysel's hand. "It's a nobel cause. I'm sure you can find a way. It's been my experiance that nothing is impossible." The young Sanguine smiled softly. "If you ever need any help researching, just ask."

Aysel took the gentle touch to her hand as permission, grabbing Anti's hand and holding it between the two of hers, trying to take comfort in the warmth of her friend's touch. The sadness was almost overwhelming her again, and she hoped she wouldn't have to howl and cry again to relieve it, as she had on Hallowe'en night. She wondered what it was about the Scorced Souls that made her so desperately unhappy...she was content, if not cheerful the rest of the time.

The young Sanguine girl was nothing if not compassionate. With a soft smile, she curled her arms around Aysel's neck, hugging her close. "There there, dear Aysel... It's horrible, I know," she murmured in what she hoped was a soothing tone. "But you'll try to help them, and that's all you can do." Antigone pulled back, and kissed the other's cheek softly.

Aysel stiffened once more as she was hugged, but relaxed quickly- she was getting used to being hugged by this strange girl. And besides, it was nice. So nothing to worry about, right? However, as shakily okay as she was with the hug, she froze as Antigone kissed her cheek, staring in shock at her. What had she done that for?

Antigone smiled broadly, before she saw the shock on her friends face. The smile slipped a little. Had she gone too far? Been too familiar? "I... S-sorry," she stuttered out, not used to feeling nervous around others. "I only meant to soothe, I didn't mean to... to..." she trailed off, gold eyes desperately looking for some place t olook other than Aysel's face.

Aysel sighed, Anti's nervousness bringing her out of her state of shock. "It's okay..." she told her, hugging her- which felt weird, but in a nice way- and kissing her cheek back to show that she knew that it didn't mean a single thing to do so. So, uh. Why, exactly was she blushing like that?
