Taima wagged her tail as things seemed to be settled between the two. They loved each other, true, but they understood that they both could not act on this love. She had a family, and she could not betray them, could not leave or abandon them. And life would be good, for the both of them. They'd get by alright, and they'd be happy.

"And you'll always be my best friend," she replied softly, moving over towards him and plopping down next to him. She smiled then tugged on his ear, just like old times. This would be good. They'd stick together and remain friends. Everything would work out.

"I'm glad I met you that day by the river," she murmured, before resting her head on her paws, closing her eyes, and letting herself drift off into dreamland.
