"Mother, where are we going?" It was her youngest son, her second youngest pup. She hadn't originally planned on taking one of her offspring along, but she couldn't leave Darius behind without raising suspicions or making the little pup feel bad.
"We're going to find a friend of mommy's," she replied quickly, as if it had been permanently programmed into her head in case that very question was asked.
Not satisfied at all, Darius frowned and stopped in his steps.
"What friend? Is it a lady friend?" Hey, he could hope, right? But his mother didn't answer, she only ushered him on faster than before. With that, he became more confused. Why was his mother so anxious to get out and see this friend? It simply didn't make sense.
"Just hurry along. The faster you move the faster you'll find out."

*Rolling around with a wide eyed-grin male shorted, his tail dancing along side the ground. His body wiggled from side to side as he rammed himself against the grassy earth. His paws, laced in black hung up and over his chest as he rested himself against the soft grasses; his pale orbs- once chilling now seemed to dance with blue flames; something about him had changed.
The red male felt so alive- he could have died right now and still he would have felt complete. Something was different but the change felt right. Softly he let a deep sigh pass him; his yellow dipped tail slowly coming to a stop as he relaxed. This male wasn’t really paying much mind to anything around him, this was something he hardly ever did- relax.*

The wind shifted and she smelled something. Something new yet something familiar. Taima stopped mid-step to lift her nose into the air and take a few more sniffs. Her son sensed a change in her and stopped to look up at her.
"Mom...?" he said quietly, as if he were afraid to speak too loud lest his mother grow angry that he disturbed her.
"It's him!" she yipped, her body shaking with excitement as her tail wagged uncontrollably behind her. She couldn't believe it. It was actually him! After all this time she would finally be reunited with him. But then she remembered Darius and her heart nearly stopped. What would Tristan think? She'd randomly left him and now she was coming back with a son?
Darius knew nothing about this Tristan wolf and so grew agitated that his mother was merely standing there, not telling him anything. So he decided to do a little exploring.
"Well, then we'll just go see him, won't we?" he said casually, before darting forward, causing Tai to jerk after him.
"Darius! Darius, come back!!" she yelled, running slowly being as her brain wasn't exactly processing all of this information. She hadn't actually digested the fact that her son was running away from her. Really, though, he was trying to get a reaction out of her. She had been distracted since the beginning of the morning, and he didn't like it.
Eventually, they ended up in some grassy meadow, a place Dar had never really been in before. Stopping for a moment, he looked around. This gave Taima a chance to catch up.
"Darius! Don't you ever run away from me like that. What were you thinking?"
Little did the female know that the wolf she was searching for, the one she had been thinking about all this time, was right behind her.

*With a swift jerk the male quickly moved himself upward; his paws lashing out and onto the grass as he shifted himself to stand. With a blink he stopped and stood still- eyes wide. Something inside of his ached- as if an old scar had just been licked. What was this- why did he feel this way? With a soft gaze the male stood beside Tai and a pup, his friend and what looked to be her offspring- Her offspring...
Tristan didn’t want to overreact like he had so many times before and he wouldn’t... not this time. He was but a friend to her and that was what he would always be. He wanted nothing more then for her to be happy with her life, and it seemed she was. Slowly he moved himself to stand tall, his tail inching along his hind legs. What was he to say to something like this? How was he to react- Would Tai be happy to see him or was this just a twist of fate?
The puppy that she seemed to be following looked so much like her- it wasn’t hard to see that he was of her blood. With a soft smile the male spoke out, his tone light and welcoming.*
"Tai? What are you doing all the way out here?"
*SO he still was no good with words, big deal- at least he did what he could to start up a conversation, this was very awkward for him. His friend, his best friend that he felt he had hurt-lost even was standing right in front of him... with her pup. Tristan stood still, his blue orbs lacing along her form as he awaited her reply.*

Taima jerked around quickly when she heard a voice behind her. She was expecting to see some strange wolf that she and her son had randomly stumbled upon. But what she saw instead was definitely not some strange wolf, and it made her extremely happy to learn this.
"TRISTAN!" she exclaimed, pushing off of her paws and pouncing on him. Her tail wagged a mile a minute as she whimpered like a little puppy and licked delicately at his face. She simply couldn't help herself. It had been too long since they had last seen each other and she had missed him dearly. He had, after all, been her very first friend, the first wolf she had ever trusted in her whole life.
Her son, Darius, merely sat there and grinned.

*With a soft grin the male sat back and barked playfully at his female counter part. She seemed to be happy to see him! This was good- very good. He would have died if she never wanted to speak to him again. Softly the male batted his tail from side to side, wiggling around as she licked at him. Things seemed to be like they were before- everything felt so right with Tai. He felt no anger or pain… things seemed to be perfect.
Perking his ears up his tail batted faster- like two small puppies they would react with one another before Tristan spoke again.
"Wow wow, what’s going on?!"
*He laughed, his tone full of life. She acted like she had missed him- had she really missed him? Moving his gaze over to the small male pup he stopped and whispered softly to Tai.*
"Your son looks just like you.."

Taima giggled and rolled over her friend like a little puppy. She was just so delighted to see him again, after all of this time! She was happy to see that he was alright and doing fine. She only wondered if he'd missed her as much as she had missed him...
"I'm so glad to see you! It's been so long.. too long!" she yipped, bumping his shoulder playfully with her head. Yet when he talked about her son, her ears perked and she looked immediately over at Darius, who was still grinning from ear to ear. She wondered what that grin meant, and hoped that it didn't mean he'd go blabbing to his father.
"This one does," she whispered back, blinking slowly and looking down at the ground. "The others, not so much." Why did it hurt to say that she had puppies? Was it...
"Well, I think I've had enough fun for one day. I'm going to head home. I'll tell dad you are out for a walk?" he said, wagging his tail as he stood up and stretched for a moment. He knew this was only his mother's friend and not some 'other wolf' and so he didn't think it was necessary to go rattling about it to Damu. Instead, he thought he'd just go out for a stroll and perhaps find some nice lady wolves.
Tai only nodded at her son, and within seconds he was gone.
There was a momentary silence as she continued to look at the ground. For some reason, she felt ashamed. Was it because she had left him, on that day so long ago? Was it because she had had puppies by a male other than him?

*After the kind display of affection the red male felt himself growing a bit attached. He had forgotten about how kind Tai had been to him-always. He really had missed her; even if things seemed to have fallen apart... a part of him would always care for her, more then he should... As Tai spoke Tristan felt himself grow a bit sick inside. Something about her body language made him feel uneasy... she moved as if she felt regret toward him- was this because of his feelings--?
Just as he was about to comment back about Tai’s puppies Tristan stopped and listened to the pup speak. When the word dad passed his muzzle Tristan slowly moved himself away from Tai. He needed to space himself from her- out of respect for her pups... and the male they called father. Smiling at Tai he eyed the pup until he was out of sight.
Things seemed a bit awkward now, they stood before one another yet they seemed to say nothing. This silence always bothered him... but he wouldn’t speak- not just yet. Thinking back on her words he sighed... Puppies. He though of how many Tai had mothered and what they all must have looked like. He was a pity to hear that only one really looked like her- Tai was a lovely wolf. Softly he sighed, his head lowering slowly... what else could he have said to make things right?...*

Taima sat there for a few more seconds, her gaze lingering on the ground. She felt extremely ashamed for leaving him the way she had, for being blind to his feelings. She wondered how things would have turned out if she had stayed with him... but then she forced herself to stop thinking about that. It wasn't right, thinking about all these ifs. She had a family now, and those ifs didn't matter.
Finally she couldn't take it. Whimpering again, she rose to her paws and moved over to him. All she wanted was to be with him again and just sit by him. But what if he had found someone else? Was that why he was so far away? That thought made her shiver slightly, but she couldn't stop what she was doing. She couldn't stop herself from moving over to him and nuzzling him under his chin.
"I really missed you Tristan. And.." she hesitated for a moment, wondering if she should bring up the subject.
"I'm really sorry for... for leaving you the way I did. I feel just awful about it. I just.. I.. I wasn't thinking, I guess." She pulled away in embarassment, folding her ears back as she looked at the ground again.
She was really screwing this up.

*His heart was racing. What was this- why was she moving so close to him...? His eyes slowly narrowed as Tai nuzzled herself against him... what was going on? She was apologizing to him... Frowning to himself the male said nothing. As if trying to hold back his words he sat still, his ears pinning back. She had a mate and pups... This felt so wrong- but inside he couldn’t help it.
Tristan sat in thought, his body cringing with every move Tai took. He had never been too good with female, his first mates death really packed a punch on him and then the feelings he had for Tai... the feelings that seemed to have killed the friendship they had- and now... what about now? Tai had someone and a family and he was still alone. Well, thinking back on it he had run into a female not to long ago that made him smile, for the first time in mouths, she had made him happy- but how long would she say before harming him? And was she even going to see him again?
Really this male was lost. Was it so wrong to enjoy being around Tai still? He longed for her attention like a puppy and now that he had it he felt weak. The blue eyed male spoke out at Tai moved away, his black laced paws pushing forward.*
"Tai- what am I to you? What do you feel for me? I can’t let this go on any longer- I need to know..."

Taima was so confused. She had a mate, she had a family, so what was she doing? She loved Damu and would never betray him, so what were these feelings now? What was going on? Her heart pounded in her chest and it felt like she'd throw up her stomach at any time now. Her head was all in a jumble and she felt like she couldn't even stand.
She had left Tristan so long ago, knowing of his feelings for her. She had probably torn his heart in two, and now she was back and acting this way. What was wrong with her?
When he asked her what he was to her, she pressed her ears down even lower towards her skull. She thought she had known before, but now she wasn't too sure. That very morning, she had gone out in search for him, thinking that they'd have a nice reunion, friend-to-friend. Now she wasn't so sure. There was something else in the picture now, but she couldn't quite place it.
"Tristan..." she began, still trying to find the right words. Glancing up, she managed to look into his eyes, those soft blue orbs that looked at her with a sort of affection... and then she just blurted:
"I love you."

"...What...?"
*In a slight disbelief Tristan slowly moved himself to stand, his eyes wide. What was going on? - was this a dream? His body was aching all over as Tai spoke out to him. Three words... that was all it took for this male to fold into a million tiny pieces right before her. All of his feelings seemed to push in and out of him with every look she gave him...
How should he take this? Inside he felt himself screaming out the same words to Tai but he knew that this was all to good to be true. Softly the male spoke, his bleu eyes chilling... yet they held the same look they always had- a longing reflected in his eyes.*
"Tai... Don’t say things you will later regret..."
*Tristan didn’t want Tai to lose anything; he didn’t want her to say things she didn’t mean and would later hate herself for. He stood still after speaking, his body softly quivering. He felt so small right now and he didn’t know how long he would be able to control his emotions.*

Tai couldn't believe what she had said either. She had a mate and a family with him! How on earth could she be standing there saying that she loved another male? It... it wasn't right! How could she betray Damu like that, after she had thought that she never would? Why was she acting this way, feeling this way? She was comitted! So why all of this?
"Oh my..." she breathed, glancing to and fro frantically. This wasn't happening. It couldn't be. Her words... she hadn't spoken them, right?
"I can't... what.. I didn't... it..." She couldn't seem to put together a proper sentence as everything that happened in the past few seconds registered in her mind. She stumbled backwards, unable to believe what she had said to him. Was it true? Did she really love Tristan? They always said that the time when one speaks the truest is when one blurts out. And that's what she had done; she had blurted out.
"Damu.. he..."
Taima shook her head, still unable to believe all of this. She stumbled again, this time to the side. It was just all confusing. It was all too much to get a hold on...

"...Did he do something to you Tai?"
*Tristan asked, his eyes narrowing. Still in the back of his mind he felt himself slowly pushing his feelings for her into view and with what she just said- this could really change his life and completely make hers hell. He knew that he cared for her but did she care for him like she said she did? If she had why did she leave him before? Had it taken her this long to see- or was it just because she was upset with herself that she let the words pass her. Whatever the reason was behind all of this Tristan wanted to know.*
"Tai... please don’t play with me. I-I don’t want you to say things you don’t mean, or you feel you will not mean it later on. You should think about this... just- think about this."
*He wasn’t a bad man... he knew right from wrong and he knew if she really didn’t know what she was saying and he let it continue he would be to blame. Tristan wouldn’t let that happen- he wouldn’t let her make any wrong choices. She needed thinking time... maybe it was just the rush that made her say it... even if he hoped that what she spoke was truth he wouldn’t say a word until her thoughts were gathered.*

Taima shook her head as she sat down and just stared at the ground. "No... he's never done anything to me. He loves me."
Damu had never done anything to deserve this! He loved her and treated her well. He had taken care of her while she was pregnant and had put up with her outrageous mood swings. So why was she here, telling another male that she loved him? It just wasn't right. But why had she said it? The words had felt true when she spoke them...
Glancing up at Tristan, she trembled. "I-it's true. I love you." She paused for a moment and her eyes began to water as a small frown came over her face.
"But I can't... this... I..."
She shook her head, unable to process all of this correctly. She loved Damu, right? Yes! Then why was she saying that she loved Tristan. She couldn't have both of them, but then she'd feel horrible for choosing one and leaving the other behind. She had already left Tristan once, and she had torn herself apart for it.
"What have I done?"
