In responce to this request, the Quartermaster secured 42 men to help hold the depot.

- 12 guards armed with rifles and pistols, each with a knife, handaxe, or other small melee weapon.
- 5 goons armed with shotguns and hatchets.
- 15 goons armed with throwing knives and machettes.
- 10 mine workers to operate the machinery.

These men loaded up into 2 large flatbed trucks, 2 bulldozers, and 1 heavy backhoe machine.

They would soon depart for the fuel depot, and use their machinery to fortify the area.

At some point the men got tired of their card game and made a report in for HQ.

"Sir, myself and some of my men commanded by... What was his name?"

"Quin." loud enough to be heard over the radio.

"Yeah, Quin. He took us and had us take the..." The sound of a map could be heard. "L-ight-less Caves, Lightless Caves. Just ********! What the hell is that?"

"Sir, it looks like we found something, it's pretty big. Mind sending up a crew?"

In responce a request for investigation was placed over the radio, sent out to anyone who could hear.

"Investigate the Lightless Caves! They may contain the artifact that we are searching for!"

Jem has only sent two of her men ahead with Quinn, and instead had taken the time to discuss their options with them. They were basically meatshields, and really, if it came to a heated battle, they weren't skilled enough to survive for long without a good dose of luck. Neverless, none of them had family, and if the deserted her now, they'd lose their jobs. A collective decision has shuddered through the group, and they headed
toward the warehouses, ready to exit the camp.

Hein Griever to Q.uartermaster
"This is Hein Griever. I've received back-up from 4 UGH soldiers and a medic. Current location is Sunrise River. I've staked out the land for the most part and it's now under our control. Request for 10 back-up units to this area to secure it while I take the 5 UGH members to secure the surrounding areas."

Hein Griever on the Shades
"Their barrier-creating abilities rely soley on a white mage. She's been saved on several accounts by other individuals from her faction as well as a Guardian. Her stature is fairly small, and by her physical appearance, it can be assumed she is of Asian heritage. Shoot her on sight. Do not hesitate."

"The second individual for notice would be a halberd wielding idiot. This man exhibits both unnatural strength as well as above-par speed. His halberd increases his range of action greatly; therefore, we must act with intelligence. At range, it seems he is able to use some sort of explosive energy which he concentrates in his free hand while holding his polearm in the other, a deadly combination of both long and close-range capabilities."

"On their side is an archer as well. Like the others, he has exercised magic-level capabilities. One of the skills that I experienced was an enchanted arrow of ice. Laugh now, but just by being grazed by it, I nearly had my skin burned off. He shows no other threat in close-range, and was even so stupid as to charge while using long-range equipment. This makes me assume that he has no capabilities outside of long-range attacks."

"On the whole, the Shade faction seems to rely on the arcane and the archaic. Their equipment is outdated compared to our's, but that should not mean we should underestimate them. That'll get you killed. Watch for their magic capabilities, and show them what technology does to old-age idealism."

The information on three of the enemies has been acquired from Heil Griever's rescue was relayed back to the UGH forces in camp, and subsequently, out to all field operatives under the Skinner Mining Company.

It took way too much out of him. Something...something down at the ruins didn't go right.

He lost his cool, snapped, lost all conscious thought, and just ran. He ran like a goddamn coward, like a fifteen year old thrust onto the battlefield, and why? Because he was outnumbered? That wasn't the reason, it couldn't be. He wasn't scared of anything.

No...that was a lie.

He was scared alright, scared of losing. Terrified of the possibilty of failure, and because of that...he had lost, lost himself, and ended up at the ******** this."

Athan straightened up, running a hand through sweat-ridden hair.

"I'm not going to lose."

And so he was heading out, back towards the barracks. There was no time to waste, there were people out there that needed his help, and he had to prove to himself that he was half the fighter he thought he was.

Responce:

<< Ivan Emtwelve, your orders are as follows, they are...

Confirm that the battle is a standoff, then pull back to assist in the offensive on the Crecent Plains. We don't want to get involved in that spat if we can avoid it... let the enemies kill each other while we walk through thier territories. >>

Fourteen took a place up high, hidden between the masses of the buildings, like... really high. Why? Cause he's got the friggin' HV rifle and a scope powerful enough to see anything within the area and shoot it when the alert went out.

<< There has been a change in plan, Emtwelve.

Rendevous with Long Ji Fang at the river and then assist. >>

Vahn Kyonuske
"SKIIIIINNER!!!"

Well, that was enough to know that someone had come. He trained his sight down towards the grounds of the SMC forces, and right by the gates there was a man. Considering that he was far away, he'd have to increase the zoom on his scope. Normally, the scope was set at a medium setting so that while looking through it, he would be able to cover more ground. With a target in sight, he'd zoom in.

He raised an eyebrow when he saw who it was; the man he had shot at previously the day before. So it seemed he was not dead, as he didnt check after that shot anyways.

Lucky once, would he be lucky again?

He put the man's head between the crosshair of the rifle. The hypervelocity fired shots at supersonic speeds, so in accordance to that, the time it took the metal slug to travel would be tiny.
