The slim curved figure of Lenne could be seen walking back across the plains, she had just come from the ruins where she had left the guardians to guard. Striding through the grass she would see a figure and some shades alittle abit away from where she was, taking her guard up she would keep an eye out for trouble as she approached Daniel. The shades would hopefully be following her as she had basically said to come here.

As the HUGE group of shades moved in with Dan's order, so did the simple couple follow the graceful woman out into the grass.
It was a massive undertaking, considering how big the place was, but now Dan had all the assetts he needed at his disposal.
It was time to do some damage.

Incoming. With shades? Either a prisoner, or a willing helper. Either way, with two of them there, he wasn't too concerned with them. Instead, he was conversing with one of the yellow eyed pawns, the one he codenamed Con.
"Tell them, to dig like this. Small trench, 6 feet deep and wide. Sloped. It's not a barrier, but something to slow them down..." he pointed towards a place, equidistant from both sets of ruins along that invisable line seperating the ruins from the Dead Woods. "Keep that place even. If they take the bait, natural choke point. And for quick movement among our troops."
"Scattered around there, and there," he said, making loops around the ruins, "I want a series of pits, 1 foot deep hemispheres. Nothing too bad. But it'll twist the ankle of any charging moron."
"There," he pointed to another location, beyond the long slow down trench line he described, "We set up similiar, but longer pits. Use the rocks to shore up the pits, embed them so the sharp end in pointing up."
Gods, this was ancient tactics... but then again, it's what he had on hand. And it worked.
"And I want those trenches around the ruins to a depth of at least 8 feet. Shore up the gaps with the extra earth. Mingle any extra stones you have in their to help reinforce it."
"Got it?"
The shade nodded, and started to relay the orders to the work crews.
By about this time, Lenne should have been able to cross into the presence of Daniel, rather than being across the plains.

Lenne would approach Daniel with the shades that had followed her, looking for a second at the busy workers she pondered then turned her attention to Daniel. Stopping near him she would speak, her voice was quite soft and smooth.
"Here to help in whatever way I can..."

"Oh, and incase all else fails," Daniel told Con, "Pass on thsi to the Jagged Cliff garison."
"Practice running the route from the camp to the trail for quick ambushes and surprise strikes. When you have the resources to spare, see if you can relocate a few boulders, so they cover the path, and will hide you from sight on your way in for the kill."

Daniel nodded towards Lenne, "Good, good, I can use all the help I can get. This here is a major undertaking."
He gestured for Lenne to follow him, and Con, as well as the nearest Pawn he could find. Not much of a force, but a force nonetheless.
"This place isn't secure yet," he told her, walking along the perimeter of the plains, starting near the Narrow Pathway. "I need someone to maintain security patrols until the defenses are complete."
"And, if you have any ideas for improvements on the plan, speak up. I want this place ironclad!"

"Yes, so I can see."
Lenne would listen to Daniel as she followed him, looking about at all the work that was being done. Giving a simple nod to what he had said she would do what was needed so the place could be secure, the work seemed to be coming along nicely.
"Right ok, well the shades can help with the security until the work is complete and I will be on hand to guard against danger as well. At this moment in time I have nothing to add as you seemed to have covered everything well, but if I do see or think of something I will let you know straight away."

"By the way," he added, just in case someone would get the bright idea to 'fix' it, "notice how I leave that expanse near the woods clear of obsticles? That is done for a reason... you dont' want the enemy running into trouble too soon. That halfway point," he mentioned, pointing towards where he had lined out the trench, "is the perfect encounter point. Make sure to tell your shades to hold their fire until that point. When they're too far to run back to the cover of the trees, and just far enough they can't rush the bases."
With that, he continued walking, now bringing them near the woods border of the plains.
"By the way..." he started, letting it hang in the air. This was the first non white mage/demonic person he had gotten to talk to so far this battle.
"What's your area of expertise here?"

Lenne would listen to what he said carefully, taking noted on important things.
"I will do so..."
She carried on following him as she nodded to what he said, he had planned this out very well. Lenne would then answer the question he had asked her.
"Well since i'm a vampiress..well day walker I should say, I have a number of things I am good at. I can use some magic to help me, my abilities or I can be quite useful with my blades...as well as other things."
She would smirk slightly and then ask him something.
"And what might yours be?"

Daniel chuckled a bit, unable to help himself, "This," he told her, waving towards the plains with hsi right hand, his left firmly grasping a nice, sleek looking black pistol.
"Soldier by training and trade," he answered more completely, frowning as he looked back down into the woods. Something big was in thre. Drawing a lot of attention.
"Con, what's going on in there?"
Con fell silent, doing the communication thing, "Another rook is moving for the dam," he finally answered.
Daniel nodded. The battle must be going poorly there. But then again, he didn't have the energy go to running off to get shot.
"Lenne. You're in command. Keep the shades working. They know my orders. Keep the patrol going through the area until the defenses are complete.
"I'll be in the Shade Side Base, should you need me..." he stifled a yawn, and started the long walk back to the fortification. He was tired. He was hungry, and there was little more he could do here.
Rifling through his satchel, he pulled out his dinner while walking, and inspecting the workers, giving a few words of encouragement and instruction along the way.
((I gotta get going about now. Be back in... 6 or so hours.))

"Your doing a good job..."
She looked about as the shades would carry on working on the defenses, she was impressed they were working very hard.
Lenne would listen to the conversation between Con and Daniel, she could hear noises in the distance but for now she knew she must stay here.
"Ok, I will make sure they do. I'll see you later..."
Lenne would watch him walk off then go about walking around watching the shades work and keeping a look out for any danger.

Lenne had felt something it was coming from the ruins.
"Damn what now.."
She would walk around the shades while they were working, yes she had been told to stay here but the shade knew what they were doing and would guard the place if needed as well. Lenne decided to go back to the ruins, just to make sure.
"Carry on here with your work and guarding, I must go back to the ruins."
With this she turned from the shades and would make her way back towards the ruins.

((Got to pop back on for a minute. Anyway, can I suggest a time table? Something like "The defenses will be set up in 4 hours (Real Time)". This should give plenty of time for it. ))

Ivan stopped, crouched in the shadows at the edge of the forest. The big man was covered in mud and grass and moss and leaves which made his form difficult to discern in the foliage. He grimaced. Plains were such deathtraps. It seemed normal enough from here, but those tall grasses could be hiding anything. There were no orange 'X's on the trees, so this clearly was no longer Skinner Company territory. He carefully set down the case and opened it up. There wasn't a click... it had been made, along with every other piece of equipment in his possession, for stealth missions. The matte black-with-mud case was opened so as to produce as small a light shift as possible as well. An array of stylish women's sunglasses were revealed, along with several large blue tipped ammunition. He selected one of the sunglasses and put it on, connecting it with his temple dataports. He closed and picked up the case as carefully as he had put it down, then eased up on the side of the wide tree trunk facing away from the plains. He slowly rotated until he was just able to peek around the tree, then he began to survey the area through the glasses, being careful to shade the lenses against whatever light might reflect off them. The military optics built into this specific pair gave him the function of binoculars with digital distance calculation. The data was then downloaded into his cyberbrain, stored as video files.
