OK, Let me clear up a few things. Jasper Riddle Seriously? Acheron Hades from the first Tuesday Next book, The Eyre Affair. He's so delightfully evil. Well, maybe he's not my fave chara, but he's the first one to come to mind. On further reflection, I find this question pointless, seeing as there are multiple fave charas. It's like asking me what my favorite book is--I can't tell. First, please, don't ever write something like this right after making a post. It doesn't make you seem reflective--it makes you seem silly, at best. And besides, "Don't measure my grain with your bushels." The author of the post clearly thought the thread was a good idea, and look at how popular it is. (Albeit, I wish any of my threads did half this well.) agrab0ekim ahdog my favorite character hmmmmmmmmmm eragon from well eragon I really like him so I guess he's my favorite character a title character... meh Second, it is a bit typical to have a title character as a favorite, but, the old saying "To each, their own" comes to mind. ***** Third, PLEASE, if you have a poem for your signature make it so that you can easily tell where the lines end. And to Meggie Bacon: I beseech you, PLEASE (!!!!!!!) if you use Latin in your signature, make sure you don't sound illiterate. Check your spelling, grammar, and word choice before you put something like that on your sig. I am sorry if this sounds rude. It may. But I mean only good in posting this, I swear. Forgive me. Vale, Et tibi, Megara, si legit, pro certo animo te posituram relegitare tua epistulam. -LD

I don't have a favorite character. crying They change with the books. In the book I just finished "The Fionavar Tapestry" my favorite character would be Paul, because he could do something I have a very hard time at; face his past and accept it for what it was, thus gaining closure. In other books, I like many characters, usually the ones that reflect me in some way, or a trait I enjoy. In the "Sword of Truth" series, my favorite character was Kahlan. I also loved Nathan, who was very comical. So thus, they keep changing I tell you! sweatdrop

Leavaros I'd have to say The Fool from Robin Hobb's Tri-Trilogy. Brilliant, comical, and deeply human--er...humanesque, the Fool portrays a man who knows his destiny, and willingly moves towards it, but manipulates the people he loves most dearly to achieve his own ends: that is, The end of Time. Not the end of the world, but an end to mistakes. Where all things can be undone, even before they are done in the first place. It is hart to explain to people who haven't read the series, but, trust me--if ever there was a good guy, it was The Fool. -LD Read that series and I do have to agree. He is truly one of my favorites. M y reason for Lan from the wheel of time was one because it's my fav book series....but also because of the depth of his back story and how carefully it's woven into the story line....there are times when it's blatant but you have to be able to analyse the character to figure out the remaining. He appears cold and dead on the inside and above all that INSANELY DEADLY to everyone who doesn't give him a second glance. but those who become close to him understand how loving caring and warm hearted he is as well as how deadly he truly is. He may not be the "dark hero" or the "saintly paladin" but he's the middle ground that is clear cut for the "good" side of the conflict. and he's a philosiphor like myself.

Hmm. I never thought of Lan that way.... I guess your right, though I must question his choice in women--first Moiraine and then NYNAEVE???
Poor, poor man. -LD

My favorite character is bobby Pendragon from the Pendragon series. He is forced into a battle to save everything that ever was and will be and he acts pretty much how anyone would act. He lost everything, his family, his friends, his entire life, during the books and still keeps going on, no matter how hard things get. He knows that there is no one else to do this job, so he keeps fighting, even though he used to be a normal kid before this happened.

My favourite charcter of all time is Taslehoff, from Dragon Lance. There's too many series and books that he's in to name them. He may be comic releif but I noticed that he tends to have some great ideas. He just gets ignored till it's too late. He's funny but at the same time you can understand what he's thinking when he does what he does. ie tha whole accidentaly stealing but all the while convinced he isn't actually stealing at all.

Viscount I'm very partial to Edmond Dantes from "The Count of Monte Cristo." It's either him or Tyler Durden from "Fight Club." I love this character ! He is a genious. But, I also love Aragorn ! too sexy...
