Dream...?

Lily jolted upright on her desk as she was at school. She was in the middle of French class as she awoke with a soft mumble. "no... Just leave with those three, Kemuri." and tears down her face. Vicky sat next to her with one hand on Lily's back. Madame stood on the other side of her desk. (They sat in rows of 2 and their's was the window row, 3rd pair from the front). Lily turned over to see her french teacher's carefree clothes of a mid-sleeved shirt tucked into brown denim pants with a belt with a large buckle, and on it, colourful rhinestones that shimmered in the sun.

"well, what do you have to say for yourself?" Madame said in a stern voice as Vicky shuffled to do her work as she was scared of this teacher more than any other teacher. "i'm sorry for falling asleep." Lily said sadly.

"There is half an hour of class left. get to work." she snapped out at the girl as she walked off. 'that was scary...' Lily thought to herself as she looked on her paper where she was supposed to be writing an essay in French. Her essay was over half done which took her not that long, counting that she fell asleep.

Vicky snatched Lily's dictionary quietly without causing a fuss and flipped through it as Lily madly scribbled away on her single page essay about the topic on the board. Lily stared out the window as she watched the clouds move. 'maybe if i don't tell anyone, it'll come true...' Lily thought to herself as Vicky snuck the dictionary back on Lily's desk.

Madame said goodbye to everyone as they headed off to leave. "Lily i want to speak to you." She said as Lily walked to Madame's desk. "You were being very disrespectful today." She said sternly to Lily, giving no mercy. "What you did was wrong. You spoiled this school's reputation of having great students!" She lashed out at Lily with harsh words. "If the Principal was here, he would've suspended you!" Madame continued, making false assumptions. Why did you fall asleep in class?" She asked.

"I pulled an all-nighter trying to finish a project." Lily said confidently. "that is no excuse to fall asleep in class. Manage your time properly." Madame said. "But," Lily began.

"No Buts!" Madame said. "I finished my work and it was better than most people's in the class!" Lily said out without the 'but' in front of it. "But was it better than EVERYONEs?" Madame said. "you may leave now." she added, dismissing Lily. Vicky waited outside for the ticked off Lily. They were late for their next class and they both got scolded.

**Later that day...**

Lily walked to the bus stop in her casual fashion she wore most of the time. The bus arrived as she got onto it. It wasn't Overcrowded nor was it empty. she took a seat next to an elderly lady and a teenager guy. The elderly lady seemed mild-tempered as she sat on the bus in her Purple dress and hat. She looked over to the teenager guy who was of Chinese descent and wore headphones. He had glasses as he read a graphic novel on the bus. Lily immediately recognized the series as she looked over to his book.

'i didn't know guys liked reading Shojo/Shojo beat manga books.' she thought as she awaited slowly for the bus to arrive to her stop. The bus neared her neighbourhood as she and the teenager guy stood up. She waited for him to move before she got off because it was rude to cut in front of someone. He slipped his manga book into his bag as he and Liyl got off the bus. The elderly lady stayed. Though she did give a small wave to Lily before she left. which she thought was creepy.

Lily took a left as the boy took a right. They headed off in different directions. She entered her house as her mom was making dinner. Her father was away on a business trip. Lily felt at home as her mom smiled and welcomed her in. She could hear her sister on the computer, playing on Gaia and chatting over MSN messenger.

"Go get cleaned up. I think you have to wash your hair today." Lily's mom said. Lily nodded as she headed up the stairs to the attic where her room was located. Inside, Kemuri lay asleep in his bed as he had had a hard day trying to find a job to help him pass the time. He did it when he was a teen and hasn't ever since then. It must've been hard for him to be bringing up bad memories.

She placed her bag down, grabbed her clothes and headed to the bathroom to take a shower and wash her hair while she was at it. It was growing out and she wanted to get it cut. Maybe she'd get it cut when her mom would take her.

She thought of the Dance at school. It was in a few days and she still needed to find a dress to go in. It was a formal dance, like Prom, but it was free to enter and you had to be accompanied by another student and each student could only bring one guest. Lily had already cleared Kemuri's profile with the school so that he could go and get to know some new people, meet Vicky again and maybe she'll get to dance with him! Lily giggled as the water sprayed out of the fauchet onto her body which had gotten light t-shirt tans.

She finished quickly and stepped out, wrapped in a large green towel. She dried herself and wore her clothes quickly. She went straight to her room. There on the ground sat Kemuri, staring at the TV where a movie was playing. It was animated and looked pretty amusing. But Kemuri was not amused. Lily wanted to speak but the awkward air was around the room as Lily remembered her dream.

she just walked over to her computer and moved the mouse to get the screen to turn back on. She would have consumed herself in computer games until dinner and after dinner but Kemuri had to break the silence. "When is the dance?" He asked her, staring directly at her from where he sat on the floor. The heavy air didn't bother him for he was clueless on what Lily's dream was. "It's in a few days." Lily said, not looking into his red gaze. Kemuri nodded as he turned back to the TV. Lily continued her way on the internet and continued to play her role playing games.

a few days passed quickly with minimal speech between guardian and herald. It was the night of the dance. Lily had recently gotten a beautiful knee-length dress that was light pink. It was two fingers wide on the straps and it had sequins on the edge and it went a little outwards near the foot of the dress. Kemuri dressed in a white hand-me-down tuxedo that Lily dug out of her parents' closet. "Perfect" Lily exclaimed as she twirled around in front of the mirror.

"Let's go before we're late." Kemuri said in a playful tone to Lily. He began his way out the window as Lily made her way out the door of her room. The house was empty since her sister was out and her parents were having dinner with a friend and wouldn't be back for quite a bit. Kemuri waited for her outside the door. The two headed off to the school together. They met Vicky along the way.

Vicky wore a sassy black strapless dress. The end of the dress was cut on a slant and it gave Vicky a very shapely look. The three headed off to the dance together. Vicky constantly clung onto Kemuri as they walked.

they eventually got to the dance. Everyone was just arriving and the sound equipment was still being set up in the gymnasium. Lily saw Jonathan in a messy sorta neat dress shirt with black tuxedo pants and a loose tie. Lily thought he looked perfect. Kemuri rolled his eyes as he watched Lily go head over heels for the guy.

soon, Lily saw KEMURI being bombarded with girls. He stood out because of his height. She could see Vicky being pushed around and Shannon and them trying to get their pretty little manicured hands on him. Lily drove in and clung onto Kemuri's arm. Kemuri was relieved that Lily was going to save him. Lily tried to pull Kemuri out of the mess but girls kept pushing and pushing. Lily eventually got shoved onto the floor, outside of the crowd.

"Lily! I'll find you inside!" Kemuri called out to Lily as she lay flat on her face on the pavement. Vicky was busy flirting with some guys to care. Jonathan peered over from his group of friends but decided it was useless to help me up... Lily couldn't care less. She picked herself up, looking like it didn't affect her. She dusted off her dress and headed into the building for the formal ball. She stepped into the building to see it was completely decorated with the most beautiful ornaments. She stared in awe at the hallways and rooms upon rooms that were glistening like the stars.

She stepped softly like a butterfly through the halls with her hair that could not compare to the beauty of anyone else. She smiled as she entered the dance floor. It was not time for slow songs yet so the music theme was Rock and music that was popular at the time. She could not find Vicky or any one! She stood by a wall since none of the music was to her tastes. Lily was mainly Anime themes or oldies slow rock. She stood there looking in the distance. Who was that...?

It was Kemuri! He had escaped the mob of girls. "Hey Lily, finally found you." He yelled to Lily. It was barely audible since the music blared not that far from where Lily took stance. "You finally got rid of those girls?" Lily smirked softly. Kemuri couldn't hear her. He shrugged and took Lily's hand.

"Let's Dance!" He said with a smile. The slow songs were coming and these were the songs that Lily would know most about. she smiled as they both danced the night away.
