Michael Archangel damonhunters are neat, and i love the grey knights... mallius inquisitor lord (the two power weapons represent lightning claws, but i modeled them as swords as i think claws dont fit his angelic theme) Grey knight grand master the grey knights though are so expensive...if you think about it, their land raiders are cheap in relation to the rest of the chapter. i do love the holocaust power, especially since you can use it in combat..blows apart lots of troops which is good, as gray knights are so few Did you paint those?

May I just ask my fellow Daemonhunters players something? Why is it that GW hypes up close combat Inquisitors when in reality they actually suck in close comat?
I mean yeah one on one they could probably survive a fight against tougher opponents but their retinue sucks for close combat and he's not going to survive very long with toughness and strength of 3.

Being a DH player myself, I've learned through bitter experience that an Inquisitor/Inquisitor Lord's retinue tends to be more of a meat shield than anything else; they're not worth a damn in close combat, except to keep the Inquisitor's foes preoccupied while the Inquisitor sneaks around with a force weapon or Daemonhammer and swats their a** back to the Eye of Terror. biggrin And to give the Inquisitor boosted psychic powers, things of that nature. But IMHO, they're just there to make the Inquisitor seem more imposing because he has his posse. xd

Yeah I really dislike the retinue choices. Especially the combat servitor. Let's see 25 points for that or another Grey Knight. Gee I wonder what I should take? XD I wish they gave us the crusader like the Witchhunters get. He seems to be a useful close combat retinue choice.
Anyways, yeah you can tool up the Inquisitor to make him decent but he really just doesn't seem worth the points. I'd rather have more Grey Knights on the field in close combat then an Inquisitor.
Not to say there aren't good uses for an Inquisitor. The only real useful Inquisitor is a shooty one to me.

Inquisitor, Inquisitor Lord, not a huge diff. Both seem potentially useless unless they're in the back lines shooting at stuff while the Grey Knights engage in cc.

Hehe, YES XD I love my Grey Knight terminators
Though I should probably start playing around with some Inquisitor combinations again. Granted the reason I've come to Inquisitor's having a bad name was because the last few fows saw the Inquisitor alone and smooshed him easily within the first few turns. My friend's Daemon Prince came swooping in by the second turn and engaged in close combat with my Inquisitor. My Inquisitor failed his psychic check for hammerhand, then the Daemon Prince instantly crushed him (hooray toughness 3 stare ) and my retinue couldn't touch him, then they ran away like scared little children. Second time I used one aother of my friend's swooped in with his death company by second turn, engaged in close combat, and crushed my Inquisitor easily. This was during my first couple of games so I probably should try different approaches to the Inquisitor. Maybe make him join a squad of GK's (normal, not terms) or something. I just dislike the whole "I'm awesome! I fight awesome in cc... with a toughness and strength of 3 =D"
...
Yeah, sure, you keep telling yourself that Inquisitor.
However the lone Inquisitor and his retinue hype by GW is still an overhype. Alone in combat they suck against practically anything they're said to be able to fight greatly.

I am forced to agree; in the first DH battle report I saw (March 2003, Phil Kelly with DH vs. Bo Tolstrup with Daemonically possessed Eldar), the Inquisitor was torn apart by the Avatar of Khaine. The AVATAR, for the love of God - a guy in the TT game that stands barely higher than the damn Farseer! (In Dawn of War they made him look more realistic - BIG! Bigger is better, goddammit! biggrin ) But the Grand Master taking on the Lord of Change, that rocked. Even though the GM died! scream
