Pulling some chemicals from his coat and laying them out, Mekt considered the materials they had. Well, if the combined... Falling into something of his science mode, he murmured chemical compounds under his breath as he mixed things in flasks he pulled from his coat. Finally, "And if we combine this with water, we'll have a big, colorful explosion. I think."
Waving happily to all the strange creatures, Renjyo giggled. She wanted to play and play she did because playing was fun and fun was good because as long as there was fun there was no boredom and boredom was bad because if you were bored you were lonely and lonely was sad and sad was bad!
"If we didn't find sorrow to be ugly, we wouldn't care if we were sad," Kiku sighed softly. "Sorrow is supposed to be something we don't want around ourselves, and we have a tendency to want beauty around ourselves-- thus... sorrow can't be beautiful-- or at least, that's what my teacher told me," the girl explained.
"If you mean interesting as annoying as all hell, sure," Hera shrugged. She didn't have the best view of her 'brother'.
"There are many ways-- but we'll go into that later," Nasir smiled.

Nakshidil watched him, blinking in surprise. This one made bombs like she cooked. It was almost natural, it seemed. "How fast will we have to run after adding water?" she asked curiously, peeking at the flasks.
The nice creatures would be more than happy to accomodate Renjyo, especially the curious cat-girl. She mewed at at Renjyo, running back a few steps.
Laramie's eyes were dull. "I've been sad so long, I don't remember many of the happy days." he admitted. "I think of Velicia, and it's a sharp sorrow... one I wouldn't want to live without. She's inside me, you know. I killed her. We wanted to be together forever... but she died." Why he was admitting this, he didn't know.
Crout smiled. Companionable silence followed from him, as he watched the timer tick down on the oven.
Kamil smiled back faintly, slipping off to get water. He came back with two cups and a pitcher of water, setting it down on the table, pouring a cup. He moved over to Nasir, holding the cup out to him. "Ice water?" he asked gently. "I've been getting you to do a bit of talking."

"We'll have approximately 10.43 seconds to get fifty feet away-- it shouldn't be too difficult," Mekt nodded to himself, more than to Nakkie. Shaking himself out of his focus, he smiled and handed one of the two final product flasks to Nakkie. "Shall we?"
Renjyo blinked at the cat-girl, giggling as she tried to catch her. "Renjyo wants to play~~~~!"
Interesting. Perhaps that was a cruel way to think of it, but... it was interesting. "But she's still with you," Kiku smiled slightly. "That's the beauty of it-- and maybe the happy days will come back to you. It's easier to remember the sorrow than the joy-- but I'm sure she'd want you to remember both."
"Ah, thank you," Nasir smiled. He was glad of the water-- his throat had been getting a bit dry, in spite of himself. How strange. He usually didn't spend this much time talking. "Perhaps you should tell me more of yourself?"

Nakkie grinned. "Why yes, good sir." she agreed. And took a deep breath. "Say when."
Sasha traipsed forward, waving her tail. catch me if you can! she mewed, and the game was on.
Laramie smiled at Kiku. "I'm sure you're right." he murmured.
Kamil twirled his hair nervously. "Well, what do you want to hear about me?" he turned, moving back to the water, and bent to pour himself a cup, standing to move back to the loveseat, this time saving room for Nasir to sit next to him, patting the cushion invitingly.

"Three... two... one... now," Mekt called, dropping water into his flask, and running-- he assumed Nakkie would do the same, as otherwise they might run into trouble...
Running, dancing after the cat-lady, Renjyo giggled. Tag! Tag was fun! Run run run run run-- wait! Around the tree is faster~!
"I'm sorry-- I'm talking too much again, aren't I?" Kiku flushed slighter, her golden skin turning to a soft rose. "Forgive me."
"Anything you care to tell me?" Nasir smiled, taking the proffered seat next to Kamil. "Anything at all."

She also threw water, and dashed after Mekt. She was a few steps behind him when the explosion went off.... but Mekt's calculations were wrong. The explosion caused a small shockwave, that sent the green-eyes girl flying.
At the boom, Sasha turned, ears twitching. She turned and grabbed Renjyo protectively, ears swiveling.
Across the lake, Naira jerked up. Aw, heck! She took to the air, shooting across the water. Time to collect the little ones and get them back inside!
Laramie shook his head. "You haven't done anything wrong." he assured her.
Kamil chewed on his lower lip. "Well... I haven't been in this world very long?" he said tentatively. "I don't remember anything beyond a few months ago... Which is when Alana says I first showed up. I'm fond of dance, and find something incredibly alluring about bellydancing especially." he shrugged. "I've led a very boring life so far as I can remember. There isn't much to tell."

Mekt swore-- something he seldom did-- he was just out of range, but Nakkie... running over to her, apologies started falling from Mekt's lips so fast.
Booms? Mekt was playing again... ohsad.... But kitty! Gottakitty!
Ah, but she felt as if she had. After all, she'd been monopolozing the conversation. "Still. It was rude of me."
Ah. Young and yet old-- how frustrating. Promising, but frustrating. "So you've lived here most of the time you remember?"

The world was spinning. Very very spinny-spinny. Nakshidil sat up with a moan, holding her head. "I missed the pretty boom." she said ruefully. "Why are there three of you?" she groaned, and closed her eyes. She'd hit her head kinda hard, it seemed.
Sasha nosed at Renjyo. Little girl not hurt, oh good. Little one, and big boom... Sasha's tail fluffed in agitation.
When Naira landed on the beach, calling for Renjyo, Sasha nudged her back down to the sandy area.
Laramie smiled. "I don't think so. So relax." he sais gently. "I was rude, telling you things I shouldn't have. I'm sure you weren't wanting to know all you learned.
Kamil tilted his head, running his fingers across his chest, rubbing at his shoulders. "Yes." he murmured. "I feel like such a child sometimes... I don't have the same experiences as the others. A child, in an adult body." he made a face. "And it's a pain, when I want to learn... so much more, but don't have even basic skill sets. Can't get a job... I'm always sticking my foot in my mouth..."

Gently picking her up, Mekt grimaced inwardly. "Come on, let's get you back to the materials-- I think I can make something for your head." He should be able to. He knew how to. Damn, how could he have miscalculated?
Waving to Sasha, Renjyo ran down to Naira, a big smile across the little girl's face. "Renjyo had fun~!" she proclaimed to the angel.
"Oh, no. It was most interesting-- fascinating, really. I..." Oh dear. She was being rude again wasn't she?
"What kind of job would you think of getting?" Nasir asked, considering Kamil. There were certain professions where Kamil would get hired in an instant... like a model. Or something else.

Nakshidil smiled at him, a wincing one. "I probably just didn't run fast enough." she muttered. "I'm sorry Mekt."
Naira smiled at Renjyo, nodding to Sasha as the cat-girl disappeared back into the trees. "I'm glad! I left your clothes on the other side, so we'll get them when we go to the other side, okay?"
Laramie laughed. "Just relax." he said, and stood, moving over to the bookshelves. "Feel free to grab something to read."
Kamil pursed his lips. "I don't know... what jobs are out there? I know about dance teachers, and writers, and actual dancers. Crout said I could make good money dancing at night. I heard one of his friends say I should be a pet, or an exotic dancer. Though how they think I would make money from pretending to be a dog, or rabbit, or something..." he thought about it. "And I'm unsure as to what dancing would be considered exotic. My bellydancing, maybe?" a shrug. "So, what is your dream?" he leaned over, lifting the pitcher of water, refilling Nasir's cup.

"No-- it's my fault. If I'd added a different compound, we would've had a little longer..." Mekt muttered, disliking himself extremely much at the moment.
Renjyo nodded, snuggling up to the angel. She just wanted contact-- physical contact.
Kiku smiled slightly. There was a time when she would've been perfectly calm in this situation, but then again... she'd had the dreams recently. "...thank you."
Oh, the idea of Kamil being someone's pet was delicious-- as long as Kamil was Nasir's pet. For some reason Nasir felt somewhat possessive of the boy. "Exotic dancing is... something not quite as exotic as you're thinking."

She swatted at his head. "Don't worry about it." she sounded almost churlish. "I didn't mean to make you feel guilty because I was slow. It was my idea, I knew the risks. And it was cool, what I saw of it." her smile was genuine. "So don't worry. We can try again later."
She flew the smaller girl carefully, holding onto her tightly. When they finally did land, she settled into the sand, still holding her carefully. No hurry.
he smiled at her genuinely, settling into a comfortable silence.
Oooo, deft dodging of his question? And obliviously, Kamil chased after Nasir's words. "What do you mean?"

Nakkie's smile was contagious, and Mekt found himself relaxing in spite of himself. "All right then. Later. Once you're all taken care of."
Cuddling up with Naira, Renjyo gave the angel a kiss on the cheek, smiling. "Sankyuu~"
Finding a book, Kiku sighed as she read it slowly. After all, everything was quickly becoming more complicated, wasn't it?
"Perhaps it would be better to show you than to explain it-- after all, it wouldn't do to simply explain something like this," Nasir explained quietly, considering this. "Although, I have the bad feeling your mother wouldn't approve."

She nodded. "Of course." she laughed. "It looked really fun from upside down." her laughter was bright.
"You're welcome, my pretty friend." she said, and kissed her back lightly, hugging her close.
Blue eyes met Nasir's in genuine confusion. Maybe he was a bit slow... "Well," he said finally, "We can go up to my room, if you think it's not something proper." he said finally. He was very curious now. "That is, if you'd like."

It was... strange. The way he found himself relaxing around Nakkie in a way that wasn't normal. At least, it wasn't normal for him. It wasn't anywhere NEAR normal for Mekt. He DIDN'T relax around... well, anyone. But Nakkie was an exception, apprently. Carrying the girl back to the house, he held her tight, feeling her body against his, warm...
Giggling, Renyo clung to Naira, enjoying the physical comfort. Ah, the way of the world! It was wonderfullicious! She got to hug and snuggle and give kisses~!
Tempting, tempting-- and Nasir had never been good at resisting temptation. "If you're honestly that curious, perhaps it would be best if we retired to your room, Kamil. I wouldn't want any of the b-- kids wandering in when we're discussing things like this."
