my parents dont care much except they say its too expensive for like 30 mins worth of reading so i have to buy my own but other then that they are fine with it. but yeah i can see why a lot of parents wouldnt like manga

My parents don`t care if I read manga... my mom just find it useless to buy a book and finish it in 15 min XD

my mom always threatens to throw away all my manga. she did that with a lot of my calvin and hobbes books, so im thinking of installing a lazer security system mrgreen . My dad doesn't care even though he sometimes teases me about it.

My parents just get pissed off at me cuz I read it!!!!! They say it's not good "literature" PLUS they don't even let me read romance novels and my mom reads through all the manga I check out at the library!!!!

They also says it's making my grades go down!!!!( well.... I do slack off more often now.... BUT I still have a 4.0 GPA!!!)

my mom, while i was at a sleep over went into my room, took all of my manga, put it in a box, and put it on my friend who also likes manga's doorstep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my friend called cause my manga had my name written in the front, and so i got it back, but seriously, inuyasha. you've got no clue!!!!! sad

My mother is a bit iffy about the whole thing involving manga. I have the graphic novels AND the how to draw manga books as well. For the longest time she hated the HTDM because much of the drawings showed nudity and I was around twelve or so at the time. I didn't see that sort of thing as something repulsive or wrong though. I found it even at that age a masterpeice of artwork.
She probably does it find it a waste of money but I go through normal books (such as the LOTR and WOT) just as quickly. And at least through the mangas you get to see how a story can be done visually rather than just words.
