My problem is that I'm not pro-life from my religious beliefs. I'm not even a Christian.

I just think that it's a basic human right to live.

I guess you could say I'm Pro-Life from my religious beliefs, or lack thereof anyway.

I believe there is no god, there is no heaven, there is no life after death and there is nothing waiting for you when you die but eternal nothingness.

Therefore to END life is the greatest sin anyone can ever commit.

These people have yet to make a good argument against people forcing their beliefs on others. Is that not what governments do? What is a man made law other then some ones belief on what should or should not be done? They are forcing their believes that they have the right to kill those who have done no wrong : innocent children. Their aborting the children is forcing a decision upon the child that kills the child. The child can not be brought back to life. If they want to call my objection to murder forcing my religious beliefs on them fine let them call it what suits them. It’s not like the people objecting to this have any consistency any way right? They object to stealing based on the grounds that it is wrong to take another’s property with out their consent? So they only are offended when religious beliefs say something they don’t like. So no I will not stop “Forcing my religious beliefs on them”. I will fight to protect the innocent no matter what they say.

Ebony the Peacian Vampire
Think about it. Everyone stamps the stereotype of a homophobic, Bible-thumping, Republican on every single Christian, right?

I find this ironic.

How so?

I think ppl are confused. You follow a religion, because you think it's true. It's from religion that ppl get their beliefs.

BTW, something I feel I should touch on, 'cause I've seen this come up atleast twice. Just so no one's confused. wink

No good Christian is the old definition of homophobia(use violence against a gay person simply 'cause they're gay scream ), but every good Christian is the liberal definition(you don't endorse/accept homosexUALITY 3nodding ).

I take offense to that. I consider myself a very good Christian. However, I see no reason why homosexuallity should be condemned; God is love. Thus, if two men are truly in love with each other, and who are you to say that they aren't, there God must be. And the only verse in the Bible against homosexuallity is iffy, because just about every "law" around it is considered to have been ended by Christ. Unless you don't eat pork, or touch women who are menstrating, etc.

I believe Christ told us He didn't come to erase the old law, not one 'iota' of it. He came to set Christians free from it, so, while we're not bound to it, others still are. If this still sounds confusing, go to a Christian guild called 'Unashamed'. They can explain it, and answer questions better.

And the quote below isn't a law.

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor sodomites, nor theives, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."1 Corinthians 6:9

And where did I say God hates them?

Christians shouldn't be touching women who aren't their wives anyways.....(and vice versa)

o.O Wow, I have no idea where you got most of what you are replying to. I never said you claimed that God hates homosexuals; I just said that homosexual love is a thing of God if it is true, because God -is- love, and so any manner of true love is of God.

Nor did I say anything about touching women who aren't your wife. o.O Especially since I wasn't talking about sex with women. I meant touching. Bumping into. Holding hands. And regardless of whether you're married to the woman or not, she can menstruate. So you can be touching a woman you are married to who is menstrating.

And that quote is a mistranslation, I'm pretty sure; In fact, out of 14 translations, only 6 translate that as "homosexual." The others, including the King James Version, translate it as "effeminate" or "male prostitute;" Most translate it as "effeminate," meaning it's much more likely that it is speaking of crossdressers. Not gays.

But the point is, if Jesus -didn't- erase any of the old law, then you are breaking God's laws whenever you eat pork, or even a cheeseburger, as dairy is not supposed to touch meat. Or when you cut your hair. Or when men shave their beards.

Hmmm, must've misread something(stupid partial dylexia). scream

Romans seem to disagree with you. As well as God, considering He destroyed Sodom and Gemorrah for it.

'If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them'
Lev. 20:13

'The Greek word for “sodomite” (arsenokoites) literally means “male copulation” or “male sexual relations.” '

confused What's wrong with holding hands? You can hold hands, and still have a platonic relationship. And usually bumping into ppl is an accident(or should be ninja ). And touch can mean more... erm, sexual things.

Dairy? And aren't fish meat? I haven't cut my hair in over a year, and I don't plan too.

I don't have the exact quote, but I believe the bible said not to touch menstruating women in any way whatsoever, that while they are menstruating, they are an abomination. No shaking hands, no patting them on the shoulder, no high fives, or you are unclean too.

Do you avoid people during your period and take a mikvah afterward?

Have you ever eaten shellfish like shrimp or lobster?

Ever worn cotton/linen or cotton/polyester blends?

Those are abominations too...

God destroyed Sodom and Gemorrah because they raped angels, not because of male to male relations. And there are arguments about what the actual meaning of arsenokoites is; Though a literal translation would take it to mean gay sex, taking it in context as the translators of the Bible seem to have, it could easily refer to Sodom, or gay -rape-.

Yes, but in this case, in the laws of leviticus, touching simply means touching. Women are not to be touched when they are on their period, in any manner, or else the man touching them becomes unclean and must go through a cleansing ritual before he can enter into the temple again.

Quote:

o.O But... Where did I say something about fish? Dairy is anything made from milk, including cheese. So no cheese touching any sort of meat. And you may not be intending to cut your hair, but do you believe that it is immoral for anyone to cut their hair?

Actually, I don't think they did, but they tried to. They were at Lot's door, trying to get in. Lot offered his unwed daughters('cause he knew they were after men, not women). That didn't work so God made the men blind, but they kept trying to get in.

'Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination' Lev. 18: 22

'If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them'
Lev. 20:13 And this mentions no rape. Unless men in those times only raped women.... eek

Temple? You mean the same temple Jews used for animal sacrifices to get rid of their sins? We don't even need it anymore 'cause Christ died for our sins. Ugh, I think I just had an answer to this, but it left me. crying
Anywho, I'm looking something up on that, so wait.

You mentioned meat. Fish is meat. Christ ate lots of fish. And when the Hebrews where in the desert, God sent birds for them to eat(along some honey bread, I think it's called 'manna').
You also said something about dairy not touching meat in your last post(whatever that means.. confused ).
Nope, but I believe it said somewhere that women were supposed to have long hair.
