"Ah wish ah 'adn't left 'er..." the remark was risky, he should have considered Fute's feelings on the matter. If he hadn't left his mother, he would have never met anyone here. "We dunnae know if she's even a'right."
"She's fine, we can be sure. And if you had stayed, you would be oppressed and neutered like a damned female. Your grandparents would have chased you out too, once you hit a certain age. Just because you were of me, and they hated me."
The red male nodded. His father was right and he knew it.. and there would be no argueing. The sudden nuzzle from Fute set his tail thumping, and he wriggled ticklishly. "What 'appened last night, exactly?" he aimed his question at Fute mainly, seeing that his father still seemed tired.
Mik took the opportunity to lay himself down again. Grunting, he lounged against the wall of the makeshift den and settled to watch the two closely for now, trying to determine what kind of friends his son was really making out here in these strange woods.

If spoken to the wrong wolf, those words Rochir uttered forth about wishing he'd never left his mother to begin with would come across as extremely harmful to the feelings of another. Especially someone who cared for him so deeply, and knew he felt the same; hopefully.. However this was no wrong wolf. This was Fute. And Fute saw things in a light that not many other wolves ever could. Rochir was his love, yes, but it was because of this love that he fully understood how the smaller one felt. In fact, if circumstances permitted, he'd make it happen for him. Sacraficing their 'relationship' would be a small price to pay for the shear happiness he'd get from it, Rochir. Even if they'd never get the chance to even say hello to one another...
Then again, when Mikhael spoke of how it might be dangerous, a sigh of relief came inwardly from the tall male. Then, as the question was raised from Rochir as to the occurances of the night before, spots and all knew just what to say. "I was out for a walk. It had started raining; a bad storm had hit. I ran into Mikhael here. He wasn't doing so well off in the storm and all, so after a brief talk I hoisted him up and brought him back here." He'd tried to be brief, and as soon as he was finished speaking, he gave Rochir a playful pawswipe of sorts. He was feeling to be in a particularly good mood; even despite the current affair with things.

"Well, thank ye'." It felt weird thanking Fute for rescuing someone. It was simply what a Fute would do in given situation, but since it was Rochir's father, it seemed like a thank you was the right course. He moved over to Mik and leant his head down to nuzzle the familiar whitegrey fur. "Y'seem stiff.. gonna be a'right?"
"Yes, that's how it happened. And I'll be fine. Don't fuss over me, you're just like your mother." the elder male smiled for the first time in months, it was good to finally find what he had based his entire life on. There were certainly questions to be asked, but the old wolf just sat, a wise look on his face. For now he would leave things be, though he wasn't sure what would happen over the next few hours, much less the next few days.

Fute gave way to a heartfelt smile as Rochir spoke to his father with concern, and for a brief few minutes, dazed into his own little world, struggling his memory to recall even the slightest moment of his own, long-since-forgotten past. To no avail was his efforts, and it almost unsettled his otherwise cheerful disposition at this moment. He hadn't even heard the old male's nearly joking comment towards Rochir. Not that that was a bad thing, as it probably wouldn't have done him much good to pay attention anyhow.
Finally, once snapped back into reality, Fute shook himself off abruptly, clearing his coat of the remnants of the rains from earlier. One would've assumed he'd air-dried, what with all the sun out on this day of all days, but honestly, his coat was slightly thicker than what met the eye. He lapped his tongue as a dry and parched throat overcame him. This meant it was time for a drink. "I...... I think I'm going to go get something to drink." His frail words had hopefully not interrupted the two. It was clear through his tone as well, that his bright and shining mood had somewhat dimmed itself, though if one knew Fute closely enough, they'd realize also that he never completely lost happiness. It just wasn't in his nature.

Rochir took note of his friend's mood and turned back to Mik. "Father?" he questioned, making sure the elder male was still awake. "I'll be right back." With that he rose, prepared to follow Fute.
The grey wolf nodded and lay down more comfortably. The morning had been more eventful than he could handle. Within seconds he was asleep again.

Fute hadn't caught on to anything of Rochir's noticement or hinting, if he even had been doing either of two all along. "Excuse me." His words were very subtle and just as he finished he turned, walking directly off into the direction water could be scented from, if even very faintly. There were a few thoughts going through his head at this moment, most of them not being the happiest of nature right now. But then again, he figured after he had time to think about things and clear his head, maybe it would get better. He knew it would, in fact. But it'd sure hurt like hell right now.
Whatever the case, he didn't figure Rochir would need to be bothered with it all. Rochir had his own world going on at this current point in time. His father's return, the state of things, memories, and probably a lot of stressful worries on top of that; of his mother and otherwise. He could scent the easily running waters getting closer by the minute, and this made him even thirstier than before.

Shaking the dust out of his pelt, the red male began to follow Fute as soon as the spotted male reached the mouth of the den. It wouldn't be hard for Rochir to keep on his heals. Fute may have been bigger, but Rochir was built for speed. Easing himself to a steady pace he followed.
Truthfully he was thirsty himself, but Fute seemed to have things weighing on his mind, and Rochir thought it would be best to talk after such a pivotal meeting. This was what he had been doing his entire life in the freelands, his whole drive was to find his father, and now he had done it. His biggest goal had been accomplished. The bigger detail was that he would have found his father dead or not found him at all had Fute not been there.

Fute did what best he could to keep his head from lowering itself towards the ground, and made sure not to frown the slightest bit, so as to not worry Rochir who was clearly now following him; should he catch up and notice from the sidelines, or something of the rather.
As soon as he reached the gently rushing waters, he quickly stepped over to its edge, mind wandering elsewhere than Rochir being there or any other living creature surrounding him, for that matter. After a few more moments his thirst was quenched, leaving his throat rather refreshed.
He sat himself down and let out a small sigh on accident. One of the things bothering him was the fact that he couldn't even remember where his own family had come from. Sure, there were vague, almost semi-realistic moments when he actually remembered a spec or two here or there... but nothing actually clicked. No, the only thing he could remember was meeting Whisper. That's the first real memory he held. The only memory he imagined he had. No family, no siblings that he could recall. Nothing. And it hurt, and weighed heavily upon him like stone now, after watching Rochir's reunion with his father. Of course, he knew Rochir hadn't meant for this to happen, and neither had Mik. He was very happy to see them together at last. But the pain was there nevertheless. He wouldn't run away from his troubles, no... But he wished he didn't have to stick around and handle them.
On top of that, and somewhat immaturely so, he imagined now that Mik was around, Rochir would eventually have to soon leave. Surely he'd need to go find his mother. They'd both need to go find her; if they could. And who was he to hold him back? Them back? That'd be the most selfish act upon this earth, and Fute was no selfish wolf. He completely understood and when the time came, he'd let them go. He'd let Rochir go. But an easy task it would not be, and perhaps even would prove a great test of their relationship. For he knew that if he found his mother, he may not be back for a while, depending upon the situation of things. Or, in a worst-case scenario, he would not be back at all...
The spotted male fought the impending emo attitude in attempt to not be like Whisper. It was terrible. Things never used to be so difficult. He was always able to be optimistic as a pup! Why now? Why him? Why were things so different? Why was it that when it came to Rochir, and his past, the two things that meant most to him, it just wasn't so easy anymore to look at things from the bright side perspective? No... he wouldn't let himself be like this.
And yet it was so. He hanged his head off to the side in position, staring down at the ground in depression. "Eugh..."

There was no doubt now, as Rochir watched his love carefully, that Fute was in a down and out way. He picked his way around rocks and splashed through the water to sit on the other side, watching Fute from across the small river. The forest was mostly dark, shaded from the sun by the hulking trees all around. A few breaks in the limbs let sun filter through, and the ground glowed yellow and gold where it hit. His ears stayed alert, filled with the sounds of the water and foraging creatures around him, wary of bigger animals - bears or elk - that may try to pick them off out of madness or extreme hunger. Regardless of his ears, the red male's eyes were trained on his beloved across the span of water.
"Speak t'me." he breathed softly, dipping a paw forward into the water. It was cool, and less than calm in most places. The heavy rains from the nights before had caused it to swell and eat up more forest than usual, leaving dangerous pits of watery forest litter here and there. They were safe here, and around the den, however, the area being too rocky and riddled with larger tree roots to prevent the almost quicksand effect.
Rochir's ears twiched as he picked up on Fute's sigh. With his Father in the picture now, Rochir wasn't sure what would happen. He figured it may be odd to have him travel with them, but now that they had found the elder, Rochir wasn't sure where there was to even go. They couldn't stay in this den forever. It wasn't sturdy, didn't keep the cold out well enough. There was no way he could take Fute back to his birth pack either. If he were to go back there, he would be going back to a war.. a war they may not win.

The lofty male had heard Rochir's soft plea from afar, but for the time being simply remained silent. What was he supposed to say to him? That he was in pain at the thought he might lose him? In pain at the thought of having no family? All the while being totally inconsiderate of HIS issues, like his father being around, and utter confusement being a most certain factor in the details as well. No, Fute simply couldn't find the words to describe how he felt at this moment...
And yet... "I....." He gave another drawn-out sigh. "...I'm sorry, Rochir." His words were almost mere whispers in the wind..

He gave a good hard look at his companion, attempting eye contact. There were too many things to think about now, and the red wolf felt very lost. Fute's despair wasn't helping, but it was selfish to feel that way. He was suffering from his own personal problems, as was Rochir. The both of them were suffering problems together of course, but dealing with your own demons was much harder.
"Ye got nothin' t'be sorry fir, m'love." he wasn't sure what Fute was sorry for, or why, but there was need for sorry with Rochir. He knew it would all pan out, things always did.
A sudden rustling caught him off guard, and his focus on Fute blurred. Rochir watched as a grey mass picked its way carefully around roots and rocks, limping to come to rest very near beside Fute.
"Son." Ice blue eyes searched over the red male, making him feel colder than the water had moments before. The grey male had made his way out for a drink, and had overheard what little was said. The elder's tail jerked, and his lips held a nasty snarl. He was hungry, thirsty, and angry again. When had he let himself get so goddamn old, that he knew he couldn't beat the s**t out of his son for this. "You left your mother to tyranny. YOU must go back and save her, if she is still alive." he spat, placing blame heavily. "I will be going with you, I doubt you can do it on your own."
Rochir sat staring, unable to say a word. What was there to do? He couldn't betray his blood, leave his mother for dead.. but there was no way he could leave his love in bad spirits, alone to fend for himself.

Fute listened in a terribly surprised manner at Mik's words as he randomly appeared from the distance. Rochir's comforting had done well to make him feel slightly better and slightly worse all at once. Worse in that he had nothing to apologize for
As soon as his head turned to meet a confuscious red male - a confuscious love of his -, he realized that things needed to be taken from a different perspective. Immediately he picked himself up and went to stand in front of the smaller one. "Rochir...my love... you do what you must." His words were stern yet comforting and his eyes were sturdy in themselves. His head also nodded slightly as soon as he had finished speaking. It was quite possible that Mik had already heard enough to realize their 'relationship' but that wasn't the matter right now. Either way, Rochir had a duty to uphold, and Fute was going nowhere. He'd wait on him forever, if it took it...
He just hoped everything would turn out well...

The shellshocked look on the red male's face clearly said one thing. He didn't know what to do. He stood, legs shaky from the sudden inner turmoil, and almost fell into the river. He felt dizzy, and couldn't bring himself to look at either wolf across the river.
"Oh shut up, you whining nancy." The grey wolf was old, but he was most certainly not losing his flare for being rediculous. He was glad for his mate now, withough her he wouldn't have been able to say half the things he said. And he was of course not calling Fute 'Nancy' proper. "That means f**." he put bluntly, after a minute. "Are you going to stand there with a dumb look on your maw, or come with me?" He was basically asking Rochir to come kill off an entire pack of wolves.
He was not in his right mind. Rochir feared for the actions of his father, maw now agape at the acidic words that spewed from his father's clenched teeth. "Yir insane. Yir askin' tha' ah go fight a war with ye.. a war we'd lose for shir."
"Look at me, son. I'm old now. Your mother is two years older than me.. she could very well be dead already."
"Exactly, and ye still wan' t' go madly runnin' into a pack o' wolves to die like idiots."
The elder wolf bared his fangs, starting across the now muddy water. The bristle down his neck and back didn't say well for the fate of the young one. "You call me a fool.. when YOU were the one to leave her helpless."

At first Fute had taken Mik's intentions in a rather opposing way, thinking they were very well and in their right mind. Now however, as he stood and watched the tragic horror take place, he didn't know what to make of the elder one anymore. Was he just calling HIM a f**? That didn't really offend him so much though; not as much as did the fact that he was now practically threatening Rochir's life.
"Back off of him!" he snapped, not even thinking of the consequences of his actions at the moment. His only reaction was to do what he felt was right, and defend Rochir from having to go if he surely did not want to go. "Back off of him...NOW." His words were low and stern as he repeated himself once more, stepping in the middle of the two of em'. As long as he was around, there would be no laying a single PAW on his red beloved. For ANY reason, nomatter WHO the wolf was.
"Just because YOU'RE suffering on the inside due to not knowing of your mate's very existence even, does NOT give you the right to come here, blame your SON for it all, and then have the nerve to ask him to come BACK with you to POSSIBLY DIE." His teeth were baring themselves now and he found his own paws gritting themselves into the ground, pressing hard with the tension of the moment. If one were to be seeing Fute for the first time, they'd be mighty afraid at this circumstance, probably. Furthermore, it was unlike Fute, and those who knew him would surely be shocked at how he was acting.
He in no way meant to imply Rochir couldn't handle himself however, and hoped it wouldn't be taken that way. He just wasn't thinking clearly, and acting on an impulse according to what he'd just overheard. "Now. Either you shut up and go back and fight for her yourself, or shut up and leave things be, or, if you choose to so much as lay a paw on him, we can do this the hard way....OLD WOLF."

" 'e cannae do it. 'e'd die." the small red male stepped around Fute, coming near nose to nose with his father. The elder male was still snarling, still ready to fight. "Calm yirself, I donnae wish t' fight ye. Yir still me da', no matter wha' 'appens."
He leaned to the side, weighting himself against Fute. "Fute, please donnae show disrespect t' 'im. It's the same as disrespectin' me." he sighed. He knew the choices he had made wouldn't sit well with his father. But he wasn't the naive pup he used to be, thinking his father would love him no matter what, that they would always share that special bond.
"Ah won't be comin' with ye. Ah'd not feel so strongly about it if she was still livin'." He stepped forward, close enough to come muzzle to ear with the elder. "Ah 'ope ye dunnae 'ate me fir it... Dad." he spoke quietly, trying to keep it only loud enough for his father to hear.
"I'm glad I got to see you before it was too late. You've grown up well. Maybe too much like your dear mother." It was all he could manage to say. He had become very cold in the water, very stiff. Turning as best he could, he made his way out onto semi-dry land to limp away. He had completed his goal, he could give up now, and die happy.
