I think the game would be much better if there were two options to choose from while Rinoa is hanging clenched to the wall during the battle.
1. Rescue her and get used to her annoying presence. stare

Well... he has his years and was wounded. Judging by his posture you might suspect where all the hot dogs are disappearing. There was also this thing about him having heart problems.

It's mentioned just before you fight Norg. The doctor asks you to tell Cid he should have a check up as soon as possible because of his heart problems. As far as I remember at least. sweatdrop

That's maybe because in his opinion the garden's main role was to give a family to all the children. I think he's a better father figure than let's say general Caraway (speaking of commanding neutral ). He never claimed to be a warrior type, when the time came he passed the leadership to Squall. He probably could stay in charge and let him do the dirty work but the rest of the students needed someone to look up to and Squall boosted the morale just when it was needed.

*glomps* I'm not the only one who thinks that! Yay! I wished so many times that I could have just killed Rinoa! Especially during the Adel battle. I mean how Mary-sue is that? A young girl who is fighting for freedom with two friends who have to call on SeeDs to carry out their attacks and later on becomes a sorceress? I mean wtc?

Geez slap a pink dress on her, give her long, brown, braided, tied w/a pink ribbon hair and call her Aerith. No offense to the Aerith fans but Aerith is the biggest Mary-Sue of all FF games.

But thank you for saying that. I cannot stand her and besides why would Squall want her? Just b/c she has money she tinks she can throw around? Puh-leaze! (sorry Zell moment) *shakes head* Rinoa should have never been invented.
