^Awwwww, shucks
redface heart And just now I was feeling pretty peckish, so I went into the kitchen to rummage around. I have a bunch of tortillas in the fridge so I grabbed one and was going to eat it plain, but then I decided that it'd be more fun to try for something a little more creative. So after a bit of searching (I am still relatively unfamilliar with my aunt's kitchen, and she doesn't keep much of anything in stock) I got stuff together to make a simple, half assed pastry sort of deal I guess. I started by sifting some icing sugar onto the tortilla, then spooning some blueberry jam over it. Next I filled a small bowl with frozen blueberries and chocolate chips, at around a 2:1 ratio probably, and tossed that into the microwave for a couple of minutes untill the blueberries had thawed and the chocolate had melted. Then I had to add more chocolate chips because I didn't think it was going to set properly, and in hindsight I think I should have maybe risked it because I wasn't entirely satisfied with the chocolate flavor to blueberry flavour ratio in the final product. But anyway, I tossed that sucker into the deepfreeze for a couple of minutes to set, and when it had sufficiently I used it as the filling for my tortilla pastry. Also, after rolling it, I sprinked some more icing sugar over top for presentation, but this was not entirely neccesary. It was allright I guess, for a 5 minute snack from scratch and just off the top of my head. With more time and consideration, it could have been better. I do think that, after this, next time I do a chocolate fondue I will use blueberries. Please feel free to PM me with any suggestion on what might have worked better, or on something else to try next time if you can think of anything.
