*laugh* It's ok, rank systems are always confusing xd
Yeah, this completely throws out the complex rank structure of today's military, and is the same system applied to all three branches.
Chaos Seed and D5 are not 'traditional' parts of the GNG. Department 5 is basically Section 9 from Ghost in the Shell with allowances for the zanyness of Gaia RP. Chaos Seed is the organization that operates as Department 5's opposite in the Antagonism System. Both don't have military rank structuring. 3nodding

Okies, that makes sense. But it still rubs me the wrong way to call a navy seaman and an airforce airmen a private xd
I can understand that thw Chaos Seed and D5 not having a military rank structure, which is why i ask if they have any kind of way to seperate the leaders and followers? If not using the GNG rank structure, it could be using some other form like i've said before... "Mr. Henchmen and Lord Vader and Laser gun duct taped ontop of a dolphin".
Scratch the dolphin and put an kangaroo there. Yeahm... Those things can Box!
Sorry if i ended up making things confusing, im just trying to Un-confuse myself sweatdrop

*laughs* you have such an interesting way of unconfusing yourself! whee
D5 will have two NPC 'leaders'. No particular titles or anything, though the players might call them 'chief' or 'captain' just out of respect, not out of official titling.
Chaos Seed only has one member so far, so I haven't had a chance to figure that out yet.

One problem that might be able to fix the ranking problem with members of two or more organizations and whatnot (referring to Tanasha) would be that we might have to just move around the person's rank. Like say...If I was a private in the GA but end up commanding some other branch organization, I would be moved up so the authority level is decently parallel.
If it's a totally different organization (ie: no relations, items are their own etc), then we just have to think of which organization would hold the authority.

Either that or T-Boss will have to select one or the other organization for Tanasha, and make a seperate character for the other. sweatdrop I dunno how the poor girl keeps up with everything.

Maintaining the GA security is easy. She approves all designs, and has hooks into the GA systems allowing her to keep track of what's going on, much the same as if they were ASDF structures. Further, she has her old unit handling operating the systems. As they aren't actually part of the millitary, they don't have an official rank. Instead ASDF and GA personnelle are under orders to treat them as if they had a rank one below her own.

"Both" is a special case.
I took over the GA's security because nobody had any idea about how to set-up and run a base's security, and it needed to be done to keep random people from climbing in our 'open windows' and walking through the 'unlocked doors' to steal our top secret files - which apparently were left lying out in plain sight, exactly wherever they wanted them to be.
When I started the ASDF, the GA still needed somebody doing that job so I kept it.
Normally, you pick one or the other. 3nodding

Well I'm under the impression that the ASDF is under the GA as the 'airforce' section of the army itself. In that perspective, anyone who joins the ASDF would then be joining the GA itself as well.

It's still under the auspices of the high command, and thus the executive branch of government, but it's not spawned from the GA in the same way as the modern western militaries' air forces began as specialized arms of their armies in WWI.

Ai Leen Since you're currently the only actual GA member still active, I'm not sure sweatdrop What rank did Tippmann give you? (Also, I wonder if I'll see Tippmann at AX again this year! whee ) Woah, wait...Seeing as I just noticed this thread...who the heck said he was the only one active?
