For your information, NO, I didn't sit in Box Five. 1. The theater wasn't open because of rehearsals. 2. I think the real Box Five is higher than the second floor (Edit: No it isn't), and that wasn't open for visits. I will get to sit in a high Box 17 though... tomorrow...
I'm about to go to the Musée d'Orsay. I'll get pics of the Opera House model and 3D map-type thing. Bye!

I don't like this. I don't like this. crying I CAN'T USE DOCUMENT FORMAT! WAAH!!!
[This message is supposed to be in Document Format.]
*ahem*
1. Musée d'Orsay Mega Phantom time. This place has a terrific cross-section model of the Opera House (Erik's dream <3), a 3D map of the Place de l'Opéra area with a detailed model of the Opera House (though this part is covered with stuffed animals... I wonder why), decorations from the old Le Petier Opera House (I'm pretty sure), and dioramas from some of the operas (AKH! 2004 Movie!). I spent a lot of time in the opera area. I also spent a lot of time in the cafe, because we were waiting for some friends to show up who didn't manage to convince the guards to let them through the line early. Also, we saw some greatly decorated rooms (I kept making scissors signs at all the chandeliers) and sculptures and of course the impressionism. Photos uploaded 6/22 http://i5.tinypic.com/157g7yx.jpg View of Opera House from the terrace http://i5.tinypic.com/15cizw1.jpg Entrance Hall, Grand Staircase, Grand Foyer http://i3.tinypic.com/15cj1vr.jpg Le Theatre! http://i3.tinypic.com/15cj2vt.jpg Buquet lives up here http://i5.tinypic.com/15cj5oo.jpg The more backstage part of ze Opera http://i3.tinypic.com/15cj6mb.jpg Erik lives down here...somewhere... http://i5.tinypic.com/15cj9fp.jpg Le Season Tickets Room et le underground passage (ah, franglais!) http://i4.tinypic.com/15cjbi8.jpg One of the many walls of old decorations http://i5.tinypic.com/15cjc4o.jpg La Traviata diorama (o.O 2004 movie!) http://i3.tinypic.com/15cjxnl.jpg That one clock in the Orsay http://i5.tinypic.com/15cjy9w.jpg Yeah, it's half an opera. Half. Minus the chandelier. http://i4.tinypic.com/15cjz95.jpg Painted in the ballet room of the LePetier Opera http://i5.tinypic.com/15ck17r.jpg Me and the model <3
2. EABJM choir practice YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!! EABJM was my school in Paris in 7th grade. This was my only Tuesday here (Tuesday is the day when the choir practice goes on) and I really wanted to see Aude, the choir director, so we called and they let me visit! (I'm going to spend the day on Thursday.) In the middle of the rehearsal, in a semi-break, I started playing Think of Me and one person sang along! She wasn't a phan though... -_- Anyway, it turns out they're doing a concert at the awards ceremony on Thursday, which conveniently happens to be the day I'm spending at EAB. The downside: I have to memorize two songs in less than two days and one song in a half hour. The upside: The songs are really cool and one of them is Love Changes Everything, that Aspects of Love song that was originally going to be in Phantom. The REAL upside: I'M PERFORMING!!!
3. The movie We watched Les Demoiselles de Rochefort. As always, I looked for Phantom relations. There was one song that screamed "ERIK!" at me *grins evilly*. Also, I heard one instrumental piece that sounded practically like Erik had composed it. And then there were the masques at the Sunday festival scene. Oh, and the main female characters were named Garnier.
We're going to the Orangerie tomorrow, and we also have opera tickets for Iphigénie en Tauride. The higher floors will be open and I'll look for Box Five.

Post finally typed 2 days after event happened The Opera!
Okay, so... I went to an opera at the Garnier. First we had a little "linner" at the Café de la Paix. Before we left, I had to go to the b-room which was up a set of stairs with a hanging light in the middle. I had fun poking the light and making it swiiiiiiiing... *evil grin*
And then we went to the theater itself. All the floors were open! I walked around the top floor looking down and then I took pictures of all the doors marked "5". I actually asked an usher which one was the real Box Five (she knew what I was getting at too) and she said that it was the one on the first floor. >_< Again another large phan misunderstanding! I could have taken a picture of the door on the tour! (It's all now clear to me. When I was flipping through the French book I noticed that it said "La première loge no. 5" which means the one on the first floor. Ahh!) At the intermission I took a picture of Box Five from the interior of the theater. And speaking of... IT WAS PHAN-TASTIC! The one word I would pick to describe the interior of the theater would be elaborate. Especially the chandelier... We actually sat in two different four-person boxes, and one of them was the one that the chandelier counterweight fell on. O_O
As for the opera shown, Gluck's Iphigénie en Tauride, I thought it looked too simple. Not that the music was bad; on the contrary, the music was great. But I didn't like how they did the sets. Operas look way better when you can actually follow the plot. I didn't actually pay much attention to it at all during the first act because I couldn't see, but I managed to switch places with someone for the second act. I thought... it was... um... good.
Ah, and don't forget the coincidential self-made phanexperiences! I was singing Masquerade during the intermission, and walking downstairs toward the Grand Staircase at the same time, and I arrived at the top of the stairs just when I got to the part where Red Death appears. I was like o_O and then I started walking down the stairs like he does in the play/movie. I didn't sing Why So Silent aloud though, just in my head.
I gots photos! http://i5.tinypic.com/15gdowi.jpg Ah, fine opera! http://i3.tinypic.com/15gdp46.jpg Chandelieeeeeeer!!!! (Now THAT'S what I call ELABORATE!) http://i5.tinypic.com/15gdpir.jpg A view of the back part of the theater from floor 4 box 17 http://i3.tinypic.com/15gdpx2.jpg View of the Grand Staircase from above http://i3.tinypic.com/15gdrfk.jpg Oooooh spoooooky! http://i4.tinypic.com/15gdrvb.jpg Box Five there in the center of the photo http://i5.tinypic.com/15gds3t.jpg Closer http://i5.tinypic.com/15gdsav.jpg Closer http://i3.tinypic.com/15gdslw.jpg View from the ampitheater http://i5.tinypic.com/15gdsvk.jpg Music in the night (Augh, I look horrible) http://i3.tinypic.com/15gdta8.jpg I owe a lot to the Paris metro system. You know, someone should put a cutout of a picture of Erik in one of my Box Five pics... yay...

Well, I visited EAB. My friends are still there. Although they've kinda grown into... not my friends. But I had lots of fun, especially in the two MUSIC classes I went to (with two different blocks) where I showed off my fantastic musical skills by playing compositions... and a piece I really like called Confidence... and of course Phantom. Oh, and speaking of, I kept running across the library in study halls to get the BEWK, and one time I kept re-reading the projection scene and laughing evilly at it in the middle of a group of friends and they were like "O_O What is she doing?!"
The awards ceremony turned out to be rather disappointing. The choir didn't sound good. But Chloe was kinda cute when she was silently begging for the microphone to sing her solo. =D Gosh, I simply HAVE to do that piece with my voice teacher. *sings Vocal Concerto*
OOH! OOH! And I finally got my DVD of the 50th anniversary celebration! We watched it tonight and it was com-plete-ly awesome.

We went to the Tuileries and the Orangerie... like I said before. Although nothing very Phantomy happened over there, I got to take a nice walk and see a lot of good paintings. BUT! As soon as we walked out of the Orangerie, Mom said to me, "How about if you take a shower while Dad and I are cooking dinner and then all three of us spend dinner in front of Phantom of the Opera?" I was like... O_O OMG!!! How could I refuse? So now we're in the middle of bringing food up the cramped spiral staircase to the upstairs living room and we're going to watch PHANTOOOOM!!!!! Imagine, my mom said that. She told me it was because she wanted the movie fresh in her mind for three days later when we're seeing the play because she wanted to notice the differences. ^_^ (photos will go here)

TWO...MORE...DAYS...
Watching Phantom was fun last night. Except... Mom turns out to be an Erik-basher. GRRRRRRRRR *brandishes imaginary punjab* 123shun! talk2hand
I don't know what we're going to do today.
KatiliaLangahi: That's great! Remember, box five is on the first floor, so it's open for viewing at least from the outside, unless they have those construction walls up again (like they did when I was on tour). And be sure to check out the Season Tickets room down below. And if you want to go sightseeing, you might want to go to the more famous things like the Eiffel tower or the Louvre. Since we've already done those a couple times we're doing what we haven't done, or what we want to do again.

So, we went to La Villette. At the Cité des Sciences, there were a lot of exhibits that I saw... and they had some things having to do with MAAAAAAAASKS. In the biometrics exhibit, it showed a mask that looked like someone's face for disguising someone else's identity, and I thought "Woo, what if Erik were to come in and then someone steal his mask and make the biometrics machine think they're him...?" And then in the Light Games exhibit (which also had a lot of mirrors... Erik's dream ^_^), I saw a reverse mask that, when you close your eyes, is supposed to follow you. It was kreepee!!! Then we walked around the Parc de la Villette and ate dinner at the Café de la Musique. Then we went home. Then... I put too many thens in here.

We went to the Conciergerie and the Picasso museum today. The Conciergerie was Paris's first ever palace, which was later made into a dungeon. The Picasso museum is... just that. There's not much to be said.
Touring photos (to come, later)
