Johnny reached for the tap of the shower and turned it off firmly, ensuring that the nozzle would not drip.

He stepped out of the shower cubicle and stood, bathing in the moonlight for a second. The moment was ruined when the cold night air caught up with him, making Johnny shiver as the remaining beads of water on his body set to work making him as cold as possible.

He reached blindly for a towel and found one draped over the side of the bathtub. He used it to quickly towel himself dry, finishing with his long hair. Johnny towelled his hair as much as possible, getting it to the point that it only hung damp on his shoulders, not sopping wet.

Johnny dumped the towel back on the side of his bath and padded out of the bathroom, heading towards his own bedroom and towards clothes. He sighed quietly as an overwhelming tiredness came over him.

"How much longer?" Johnny asked his daemon who had vacated her position on his shoulder to scuttle on the floor beside him.

Salamalyon stayed silent, not wanting to either crush or confirm Johnny's hopes. She couldn't do that to him.

Johnny nodded and bent to scoop up his beloved daemon. "I thought so." He told her quietly, entering into his bedroom.

Johnny walked over to his chest of drawers and began to root through them, trying to find a pair of pants. Succeeding in his quest, Johnny then began the arduous task of finding underwear.

The redhead looked at the tattoo on his stomach, the only concrete proof that his path had already been laid out for him.

Now all that was left for him to do was walk it. And to Become

"You know that last vic that came in? They were killed by either a) a different person or b) the same person, but with a different knife. The edge of the wound is different from the first to that last vic," the red head said as he leaned against the wall, "Kyana reckons it could be a copy cat. but hey, who knows."

Bryan sighed and rubbed his temples. "I highly doubt a copy cat. It'd be too much trouble to go through all of that besides... the playing card was still there wasn't it? That information hasn't been released to the public."

He leaned back in his chair and looked up at Tala. "Would have been nice not to tell anyone details until we caught the murderer but y'know... the media are parasites."

Falborg ruffled her feathers from the chair she was sitting on.

Taki nodded back at Rei before turning back to Rose. "Yup, group meeting thing. I'm the gopher."

He blinked at rose for a moment before leaning slightly closer, raising an eyebrow in question, "And why are you giving me that 'please don't kill anyone' look?"

He was refering to the face she made when she was praying he wouldn't lose his temper.

Rose and Rei looked at eachother, giving a quick smirk before turning serious again. The fact that they did this in sync with each other was frightening, even to them.

Rei decided to make give a tactful response, there'd be no way Taki would know what they were thinking. He took a breath before puting his plan into motion... "...What look?... We weren't giving a look." He said.

Rose suppressed a sigh when he said that. She wanted to hit him over the head. That was the worst save in the history of saveage. She thought she had taught him better, and so she decided to clarify what Rei had said.

"What he means is, What ever "look" that you thought we gave, is of no importance. Right now, we should be concerning ourselves with the task at hand. Wouldn't you agree, Taki?" Rose looked at Taki with all seriousness, making Rei aware of her impatiance with him.

Probably out of boredom, shadow walked over and sat next to Rose, looking at her work collegues, with a kind of scepticism. I'm still not sure about these people...

Well. You've knowm them as long as i have....

Just be thankful that there at least some people to trust here. Even you like Rei. Admit it.

Hmmmm.. Maybe. bu-Hey! Isn't this conciance slash rational thinking thing meant to go the other way. I'm supposed to be the one getting on your case...

((Wolborg. AND HAH!! Complete character profile- motivations etc has been figured out. Am amazing an brilliant. Very important fact that is crucial to plot is that when people die their daemons go 'poof' into thin air. The book describes them as going out like a candle flame. ))

Johnny pulled on a pair of underwear and found an oversized shirt, not so much to warm him in the cool night air as to hide his changing body from the world.

It wasn't ready to see what Johnny really was yet. No one was.

Sala leapt from the dresser where she had been sitting to climb up Johnny's garment, her small claws making soft whispering sounds as she climbed. "You need to sleep." She told him gently.

Johnny shook his head. "I have too much to do." He told her, reaching up to his shoulder to stroke her body.

"You haven't slept for days. You need rest." She said a little bit more forcefully. "You're exhausted."

"So?" Johnny asked, ignoring how inviting his bed looked. "I have things I need to do."

"Things like?" Sala asked, knowing the answer.

"...Things." Johnny said, frustrated that his tired mind couldn't come up with a plausible reason for his staying awake. "I have to do things." He said stubbornly.

"You have to work tomorrow." Sala said reasonably, leaping from Johnny's shoulder on to the ground. The bed was just beyond the bond that she and Johnny shared. "You need sleep."

Johnny shook his head, lack of sleep causing him to become more and more petulant by the second. "I have to do things." He insisted again.

"You have to sleep." Sala said, turning and walking away from Johnny towards the bed.

The redhead gasped at the pain that shot through his body to it's core.

Salamalyon tugged again at their bond moving another metre closer to their bed, shuddering herself at the sick feeling it gave her. It felt like her heart was being ripped in two. It was wrong to be so far apart from her Johnny.

Johnny rushed forward and scooped her up, holding her scaly form close to his chest, mumbling incoherent sounds of love. He held her tightly, trying to convince himself that that sick feeling had only been a dream, that she would never really leave him.

Sala pressed herself as close to Johnny as possible, taking comfort in his warmth and love. "You need to sleep." She commanded through small sounds of unhappiness at being so far from him.

"Never again?" Johnny asked, moving toward the bed. Nothing, nor even the things he needed to do left undone would be a worse fate than to be without Salamalyon.

"Never again." She agreed as the collapsed into bed, tightly pressed against each other.

Sita sat up quickly. Someone's coming.

"Hmm? Oh hello Kai. Long time no see." Tala said to the blunette, "But what brings you to this scungy building on such a wonderful night. You look like you need sleep." Tala was word vomitting again.

Smooth, real smooth there.

Shut up.
