Ra smirked as she admitted her Japanese was coming along slowly.
"I have a thing for languages." He said sitting down next to her. "I don7t find them too hard to learn. Though Japanese is very difficult."
Leaning forward on his knees he looked up and down the street.
"I think it's my only talent." He laughed turning back to face her. "Your gift is much more interesting. Though maybe you could get Saki to help you."

Israel dropped her knees down so that she was sitting crosslegged and leaned forward to start messing with the hem of her jeans.
"I doubt it's your only talent," she grinned at him. "And it's one that I would love to have. I really want to travel everywhere and it would be soooo much easier if I were able to pick up languages like that," she said with a snap of her fingers. "Saki has helped me a little, I just don't have a head for learning it though."
"What has been your favorite place to live?" she asked, looking over at him.

Ra laughed at her notion that he picked languages up that quickly.
"Japanese is so much tougher than the other languages I have learned." He admitted with a smile. "Arabic and Persian are very closely related, English is different, but still of the same linguistic tree."
He yawned a little and stood as the bus rounded the corner.
"Britian." He said with a smile. "Many of the contries I have lived in are restrictive, even dangerous. There I could be who I wanted, not who I was told to be."

When Ra rose to his feet, she glanced down the street and then stood as well when she saw the bus. She looked back up at him with a smile.
"So you mean to tell me you're not yourself here? Then who are you?" she asked with mock suspicion as she readjusted her bag over her shoulder.

"I didn't think you meant including here." He said with a mock sigh. He grabbed a ticket and climbed onto the bus. "Here is even better. No bullies, well there weren't, no parents. Lots of god people." He smiled up at her and shifted over on the cramped seat so she could join him. "How about you? Do you prefer here or New York?"

Is followed Ra's example and slipped into the seat next to him with a bright smile.
"A few years ago... I would never have thought of leaving New York. But I love it out here. No mother, no memories. Lots of good people," she grinned. "It's given me a fresh start. Something I didn't realize I needed till I got here," she smiled and looked past him out the window.

Ra smiled at her and nodded.
"I agree." He said leaning back in the seat as the bus sauntered along. "I've learnt a lot about myself coming here. I'm learning to be more confident. It just takes time."
Ra perked up quite a lot as they edged closer to the sea. He had never lived this close to the beach before so a trip to the sea held a childhood facination.
"Do you like going to the beach?" He asked his eyes fixed on the passing scenery.

Israel watched Ra with amusement out of the corner of her eye as she watched the scenery flash by. The eagerness that started to show in his eyes was very endearing and it helped her relax a little. All she wanted was to cheer him up and it looked like her goal might be accomplished.
"I love going to the beach. The wind, sun, surf, and sand, it's one of my favorite places to be," she smiled. "My father used to take me every summer at least once," she said, her eyes going distant, but her smile remaining constant.

"I've never really lived near the beach." He said fishing some coins out of his wallet as the bus came to a halt. "When we lived in Britain we went a few times, to the south coast. But I was fifteen and an only child so it wasn't much fun." Smiling he stepped off the bus and out into the salty air. "Grinning he looked down to the beach and the people lounging around on the sand. His inner child was just about ready to explode and go running off into the sea.

Is took a deep breath of the fresh air and smiled up at the childlike grin on Ra's face. "Kinda makes you wish we had brought our swimsuits, doesn't it?" she grinned up at him. "Race you down to the surf?" she asked playfully.

Ra ignored her comment about swimsuits. He didn't even own a pair. All notions of swiming had been struck off his list of fun things to do once his schoolmates hat pointed out what a freak he was.
Grinning at her challenge he gave her a couple of seconds head start before jogging after her. He was so going to win this race.

Clutching her bag to her hip, Is took off at a sprint across the sand. She glanced over her shoulder and saw that he had taken her up on her challenge and laughing she started to run a little faster, her heavy shoes sinking into the soft sand.

Ra had his bag held tightly in his good hand to stop it annoying him.
"Loser." He laughed as he overtook her and came to a halt on the wet sand just before the lapping ocean.

Still laughing, Is plopped down onto the dry sand, trying to catch her breath.
"No fair. You're a smoker and just smoked two cigarettes!" she exclaimed through her giggles as she pulled her feet out from under her and started to untie her laces. "That and the sand slowed me down," she grinned, tugging her shoes off.
"What would you like to do? This is your day Rashne. Anything you want, you get," she smiled brightly up at him.

"I also run every morning." He laughed breathlessly easing his trainers off. He took his socks off and started to roll his jeans up to his knees. At her offer and suggestion he looked around the beach at what everyone was doing. There were some young children playing in the sand, making things. He remembered seeing the same thing when he went to the seaside with his parents. He also remembered how he had wanted to make something but couldn'T look silly doing it on his own.
"I want to do that." He said pointing to the chilren and their sand construction. "I don't know the english but it looks like fun."
