Agreed. I have Sonar . . . and all this time just assumed the char was male. Not to sound sexist, but there are absolutely no feminine qualities to that one. sweatdrop

Exactly what is feminine about Micron Gunbarrel?

I never even saw the need to classify the TF's as either male or female. For in the true sense of the word they are neither for the posess no sexual organs and reproduce A-sexualy in all continuities

Hi Devonix,
True, but the Transformers themselves, when there are 'female' ones present that is, did acknowledge they were female, opposite the male majority. Also, when there were female Transformers, some did seem to form bonds with male Transformers much like biological organism males and females even if reproduction wasn't part of anything.

Sonia confused True as well, but one of the main reasons I feel for the lacking of female Cybertronians is that they were added as an afterthought, due to the exact question we're asking here by parents groups and the like wondering where all the females were. Which is why they were done so poorly. at first. I simply found that classification while it may take place in the continuities is plain silly. The guy TF's are only guy's because they are called so and the same goes for the females. There is in fact no reason to make any distinctions accept for the sake of "Romance"

There is in fact no reason to make any distinctions accept for the sake of "Romance" As much as any Transfan might dislike it, the fact remains that there are female TFs, it's in the canon, we have to deal with it. Best explanation I've seen is if the Quintessons manufactured these beings as household devices, then obviously they would have been supplied with a data pool of possible personalities that would allow their owners to most easily relate to them. That data pool would have included feminine personalities, and as such female Transformers would be a holdover from the early days as consumer products.

That actually works very well with the Cartoon Continuity. Since it would explain the total lack of Female Decepticons as they were the military line the odds of there being a female varient being alot slimer.

Wow, a lot of deep thought put into this topic!
I personally liked the Beast Wars series and all the interestesting elements the writers put into it. Blackarachnia was one of the badest bots and I liked that.
As for the older fembots, they did seem kinda useless to me, which I guess was part of some stereotype.
It does seem strange that a machine would have different genders but I would like to see more girls in the Transformers. But it would have to have a good believeable back story as to why they exist and how they relate to the other Transformers.
And Female Decepticons would be fun to see so long as they don't completely ruin what they got going for them so far. blaugh

Cromia, Moonracer, and Starfire in that first pic, then Elita One in the second. I wonder what they have against Hot Rod.

Recca Hino Cromia, Moonracer, and Starfire in that first pic, then Elita One in the second. I wonder what they have against Hot Rod. I thought it was a fun cover, but I don't know what they have against Hot Rod. This might be the first time they've seen a male robot and theres...tension? Or maybe he was rude and told Starfire her cooking was horrible. Or maybe he called them fat, or perhaps he made a comment about them looking weaker than any transformer he'd ever seen. Ha, guess he'll regret that one!!!
Here, these were the captions that went with the pictures. But they don't give any real hints.Issue 11 Because YOU demanded it: The return of the Dinobots! The hot-tempered cavalier Hot Rod finds himself in over his head when a mysterious group of Transformers-like warriors interferes with a standard transfer mission. What are these mysterious agents truly after, and what hope do Hot Rod and his team have of stopping them? Featuring the return of the fan-favorite Dinobots, the first-ever comic book debut of some of Generation One's most desirable characters, and much, much more! Issue 12 This is it: the return of the most popular Transformer of all time! Yes, the indomitable Optimus Prime is finally back, ready to chew Energon and kick bumper-and he's all outta Energon! But the question is: where is he? Find out in this thrill-packed anniversary issue, as the greatest Autobots leader ever faces off against the ravenous Sharkticons and their cruel masters, the Quintessons! Don't miss this special birthday issue, a perfect jumping-on point featuring Optimus Prime himself ushering in an all-new era of Transformers greatness. The countdown to 2005 begins now!

I'm confused. Why do Robots have genders? The Transformers are very much Asexual, as they BUILD the other ones they have. :\

Well, from what we have seen, they don't have genders per se, but certain ones share physical characteristics with females of carbon-based species.
