Demare Mateni

The halfling cried out as he felt the hyena's teeth sink into the palm of his hand, not quite sure if he'd managed to break the skin. In a fit of rage, Demare lifted the boy by the mouth, using the ground for support, and managed to throw Loki over himself, slamming him hard into the ground head first.

Snarling in a fit of rage, Loki twisted and grimaced at the weight he had put on his wings, and used the ground as leverage to launch himself at Demare again. Fire brimmed from both his fingertips and scarf as he whirled, attempting to land a mark on the demon with his nails.

The time for talking was over, it seemed.

Demare growled as he barely managed to dodge, his right arm getting clawed by his shoulder, tearing and singeing the bandage. The tear was enough to unravel the whole thing, the already dirty cloth-like material falling to the ground, revealing the scarred markings running along the child's arm. The fire had burned the flesh, causing it to bubble up a little bit, and the scratch happened to be right through the first mark. At first, Demian didn't notice much save for the feeling of a little blood trickling down from the wound.

After a moment, however, his whole arm began to burn, the markings rippling slightly as he grabbed tightly at the wound, crying out in pain. The seal... Somehow, it had been weakened.

Blinded by his anger, the halfling threw a hard punch toward the other's face, his fist coming so quickly it was almost a blur. The force was much greater than the first kick, causing the air to whip a little bit before making impact.

Letting out a loud yell, Loki hit the ground, now lying face up, the wind seeming to blow harder. Grimacing, he forced himself to get up. Had to finish what he started, had to fight...

Crouching, Loki wrapped his scarf further around his neck, so that the flames enveloped him, making it so he couldn't be touched as he had before. But he did notice that Demare had gotten more feral, and the eyes went to his arm... so that was the key. Grinning darkly, he ran at the halfling, whirling around halfway, attempting to shove into the other and scratch in the same place.

Loki had succeeded in another scratch, but the halfling didn't cry out this time. His red eyes began to glow brighter as the markings rippled once again, the child not hesitating in grabbing the hyena boy's arm to swing him around a couple of times, then throwing him with increased strength toward a nearby tree.

His shirt was blackened in a few areas, the bandage on his left hand on fire; he didn't seem to care, however. With the wave of his hand, the fire was gone, the skin peeling and shrivled a little bit, large blisters beginning to form. His right wing appeared to be a little bigger now, still mangled and broken looking, tears and holes along the membranes. Demare hissed as he watched Loki, wondering what the boy's next move would be. It was almost as if he didn't notice the changes that were happening.

Not even having the heart to cry out anymore, Loki crumpled at the base of the tree, nursing his injured arm, though had a look of malice in those crimson eyes of his.

He didn't move, but curled his free hand into the ground, ready to throw dirt in Demare's eyes should he come closer.

"Do you have ANY idea what kind of trouble you've caused?" he snarled, taking slow steps toward the hyena.

Lifting his right arm, it began to surge with power, black lightning dancing along his flesh. Shadows lifted from the ground, raising Loki into the air, pinning the child against the tree. One of the shadows wrapped tightly around the boy's neck, squeezing hard, but allowing just enough air to pass through so he wasn't being choked.

"Fixing those markings is going to be a b***h to do."

Reaching the other boy, a smirk spread across the child's face as he grabbed his wrist, his grip tight. "Now, I believe it's time I pay you back for what you've done."

Eyes widening, Loki struggled and tried to throw the dirt, but all it did was clash against Demare's side.

"N... ugh..." He muttered, closing an eye and baring his fangs, slouching. There was nothing more he could do; the bandage around his lavalike arm unwraveled long ago, now bearing the white symbols that marked exorcisms.

Those crimson eyes of his, however, never left Demare's eyes.

Good, because his bi-colored eyes never left Loki's.

"At first, I thought I should just break your arm and be done with it," he cooed, finally moving his sight to the arm he held. Demare moved himself closer to it, inspecting the symbols for only a moment. "However, I decided that... that just wouldn't do."

He pressed his cheek against the bare flesh, rubbing against it a little bit as if he got some sort of pleasure out of that. He took in a deep breath, taking in the boy's scent as his fingers dug into his wrist, his eyes rolling back a little bit.

"I did say that I wondered what your blood might taste like. I'm getting kind of... hungry," he breathed.

Without another word, Demare sunk his teeth into Loki's arm. He bit hard, clamping his jaw closed as his now sharp teeth ripped and tore at the muscle underneath the skin, nearly reaching the hyena's bone. Once his mouth was closed, he pulled away and released the boy's arm, backing away as he chewed the tissue a little bit before swallowing. Blood dripped down from his lips as the smirk returned, a crazed look in his blank eyes.

"Disgusting," he sneered. "I could eat you for lunch!"

Crying out, Loki watched as Demare bit into his arm, ripping away the flesh, as if it were a mere piece of meat.

... the pain was overwhelming. It hurt worse than when he exorcised... and now, he had no strength left to fight back; all he could think about was the pain.

Pain... just like poison. But where... did the poison come from?

Quite suddenly, a brush of air enveloped both of the boys, alerting them to another presence. Standing there, beside Loki, was a tall man adorned with black feathers, and pupilless eyes. A haughty look was given, and he raised his chin just a small bit, as if he dared the other to oppose him.

"Loki... is not your property..."

Demare's smirk faded as his eyes turned to the man that appeared, his left arm lifting up to wipe the blood from his mouth. A friend of the dog's... how touching.

"I never said he was," he barked, turning around as he reached out for Mordanath with his mind, the shadows lifting the poor dagger from the ground. At it hovered into his hands, it screeched a little bit before calming down, the eye darting about as if searching for something. "I was simply returning a favor."

The halfling had no interest in fighting someone else, even in his current state of mind. He only hurt those he deemed untrustworthy, or anyone that tried to hurt him. 'Kill or be killed', as the saying went... He prefered it to be simply 'kill'.

"Then leave. You have no more business to attend to..." The raven turned and dealt with Loki, picking the hyena boy up from the ground, noting that he was slowly going unconscious.

Loki's hair was a matted mess of blood. The wound on his arm was oozing fresh blood, as well as other more smaller areas, though less noticable than his arm. The raven glanced around until he spotted the bandage that Loki had had previously. Picking it up, he tied it tightly around Loki's arm, then glanced back up to Demare.

He didn't trust him in the slightest.

Sliding in between the raven and Demare, the large lizard huffed as he sat on his haunches, looking rather mussed up but still good to go.

However, he didn't move from his spot, and looked the part of a guard dog. No way was he going to let anything else happen to Loki - not on his watch.

"Pffft, like you even need to tell me," he stated, taking up his scarf, not even turning to look at them. He winced at the touch of the material, his left hand badly burned. "I was leaving anyway."

Demare's feet dragged against the ground, the child stumbling a little bit as he tried to get far enough away from the others so he could sit down and try to tend to his own wounds. The scratches wouldn't be too hard to heal, but the burns would take quite a bit of time. His body itself, however, needed to be balanced against first thing. It couldn't handle the broken seal, as he took wobbly steps toward home.

Rest, Clare demanded. I'll get us home, heal you as best as I'm able, and then you can fix the seal.

I... can't, the demon sighed, feeling his head throb a little bit. I can't leave the body.

What?

I've been trying to leave... since I threw that b***h...

If the angel had said anything after that, he didn't hear it. The halfling just kept walking, trying to figure out how to fix the seal. It had been so long...

"Lue." Murmured the raven, whom the lizard gave his rapt attention to. "Gather Loki's book and lantern. We're going for... a short trip." Nodding to the raven as he turned to leave, the flame lizard sidewinded over to the book, picking that up, and managing to get the lantern as well.

"Things need to be fixed."

All Lue could do was nod, in a sad sort of way.
