kp606 Quote: Men have it so much harder- they (should) have to be financially and emotionally stable and be able to support a family before they even consider starting one. They have to be the head of the relationship and the leader (which by no means means that women have no say), and are held responsible for making the tough decisions. Oh my God I love you. crying I normally don't like to drive sensitive points home but I just want to say, alot of what you say is true. Being a guy, sociologically, you have alot of roles to meet up too, and the worst part is, you have so very few options. Women are accepted and loved no matter what, they're several open lesbians in my school, my Catholic school. As of right now, they're no known openly gay boys. The adonis male is a huge archetype for guys that most must live by, women? You guys can actually choose to be however you want to be and no one will judge you for it. That is true... I'm kinda going back to the knitting example with this one. The only thing wrong with "women's work" is because it's women's work. It's awesome if a girl does karate...but if a guy knits, he's a total sissyfied wimp and that's putting it in nice terms. I can't imagine how I could get more flak for my hobbies than a male would. EDIT: Actually I have one thing to rant about... I am sick and tired of "Christian"/"Christianity" being tossed about like a derogatory slur. I get more irritated when it's used towards non-Christians because they're the only ones who stand a chance of being insulted. It SHOULD be a case of mistaken identity. Not something to insult others and become insulted by as a result.

I.Am Oh, I know, I was afraid of Fushigi being offended. ^_^;; I agree with you, pretty much completely. Well if I did offended anyone, i'm sorry. I'm not trying too sweatdrop I kind of think it's cool if a guy can sew and cook. I don't see how a guy sewing and stuff is a sissy. But I also have a thing for costumes and some of those costumes that the guys make kick butt!

The denomations are very far in beliefs and you can't just lump sum them anymore, you need to be a little more specific.

It's just not manly thing to do? *shrugs* But I'm someone who thinks basic sewing skills are just as important as basic home maintenence skills. That way I can fix a broken chair leg and my torn pants without having to go out buy new stuff. Others probably don't see it that way. There ARE men who knit out there but a lot of them are just too embarrased to admit it. Even openly gay men knitters who have managed to come out of the closet with their sexuality, can't come out of the closet with their hobbies. I'm Catholic so whether or not I even count as a "Christian" is debatable depending on who you ask. As far as I'm concerned, we're included (so go ahead and lump us together because the core beliefs are the same). As far as some Protestant sects are concerned, we're not Christians. In fact I've seen people claim Catholicism to be a form of Paganism but that's an entirely different can of worms to debate on (So...please make the distinction because we have a lot of differences).

Thought it could be really helpful for them learn at least the basics as you said. I don't know if they do this now, but when my dad joined the military they made them learn basic sewing skill to fix little things. I see no probly with that, just like I see no problem with woman learning to fix cars, that's helpful too (in fact in Germany, you have to learn the basics of fixing cars, like flat tires,ect...before they give you a license). It seems like a double stander that woman can do things that men usually do but when a man do something that more woman do they put them down. I don't mind Christains, just dislike how pro-choicers think all pro-lifers are Christains, it's that not all of us are and it's hard to prove a point when they asume things and not listen to what people say.

Well KP (was at work, while this thread grew), they seem to like me, yet I still want to know what they talk about behind our backs, ie the LHT, which they have mentioned several times in the ED thread when they get off track, not to mention other times hearing what they say about us to an extent.
I dunno, the sane ones seem to mind me, but the lets say the 'go-getters' think I'm still a woman opressing right nutter pig man. Sept for Talon-Chan... I got her to apologize to me (it was her own doing) and retract that statement about me, putting out that I was infact somewhat good.
I really find that an accomplishment.
Oh and guys, again I was gone, quit talking about Peer. I know alot of you don't like him, or hate him or whatever, but I like him and I don't like the way you talk about him. He does the same thing and I ask him to keep it to himself, so please do the same thing. Thank you.

Yeah, I think Beware and I are the ones they should be mad at for any of these unfair bannings. That I still have no idea what they're talking about.
Sorry Kaiser. The thing about the banning issue that annoys me is that if that was actually happening, it would tick me off royally. That doesn't sit right with me, banning people for their beliefs as opposed to their actions. If this isn't happening, I don't want to waste anymore time on it.
And blaming KP for it is nuts. He's the freaking one who defended darkfire for so long.

That's good. I think I PMed him in blind frustration, but I honestly don't remember. I'll check my outbox or sentbox later, but it was sorta late, I'm having an awful time lately, and I feel so rotten because his anger should be directed at me and a few others if he's mad about being banned, least of all it should be directed at KP, and...gah, I don't know. Life is pointless. There's no point in fighting. Everything's going to hell anyway.

I guess what annoys me most is the attitude of superiority of the pro-choicers. Their belief that if they just get us thinking in the right mindset that we'll have to agree. Their complete and utter lack of sense of right and wrong, and trying to force everyone to agree with them that people shouldn't think about what is morally correct but based on technicalities, defenitions, and what is written down by the law books and the courts. Their use of world hunger, desise and crime to justify their belief, while in reality abortion has cured none of these problems. Furthermore, their use of stereotypes and trying to defame the other side by what amounts to slander in order to get people to follow them, not because of their arguments but by the peer pressure method.

Already all of these posts! rofl
I want to rant about the people who think I'm stupid because of my age like on World of Warcraft back when it was new and I was 11. mad They didn't believe me when I told them I wasn't 16. I could have taken it as a compliment but it was annoying how they kept whispering me for "my real age." I HATE YOU, HOUSE ATREIDES! Kynes and Tigereyes and and... ! gonk I remember it clearly, Tearis was the one who whispered me about it.
... Not that I'm still mad about it! I'm doing fine since I don't advertise my age.

I.Am Oh, I know, I was afraid of Fushigi being offended. ^_^;; I agree with you, pretty much completely. Haha, not offended at all. I'm really starting to like this guild; it's hard to find a guild centered on such a contraversial topic that actually allows for good-natured discussions. 3nodding I guess it would be hard for me to elaborate on just what I mean by "submit" and "take charge" because I'm kinda confused as to what exactly I mean by them. I just know I don't limit them myself to simply "traditional" roles. I suppose it makes more sense when you get into the spirituality aspect of a relationship as well. -shrug- But anyway ... smile

@Karl: Amen.
Most - not all - use that method.
"Agree with us, or you're a ********, uncool, ugly moron."
rolleyes
@Lorysa: Most people here know my age, but don't believe it, because I like to debate on a lot of issues that are pretty serious in society today, such as sex, racism, and religion.
And I'm very open-minded towards a lot of different things.
[rant]
I may be pro-life, but when it comes to issues that only affect one person's body - (I believe a child is not apart of the mother that carries it) - such as drugs, sex, and alcohol, I'm very pro-choice.
Unless, of course, while being intoxicated, you get in a car, go out in public, and affect someone else negatively in the process. Then, I feel a need to step in and say "Enough."
But if someone's careful and safe with whatever they do with their bodies, and are ready to accept the responsibilty of whatever may result from their actions without affecting/taking a life, by all means: Have at it.

When McPhee converted to Pro-life-ism he was thrown out. I think you can imagine it's goal and guidelines...
