Once again, funny you should say that, because in his blog, RJ specifically states that as one of the reasons he intends to live longer and prove the doctors wrong.

I am positively addicted to his novels. My best friend owns them all, And i go over to his apartment and steal them, and then zip right through them. I'll read for HOURS just to see what happens.
It's A shame that he's sick though, RJ that is. His books really have changed my life, because they inspire me to work on my craft more (which is comics) God Bless him!

I love the first book, however, I dislike the others. They become more of a soap-opra, truly, I dont think there should of been even a second book, I think the plot was finished perfectly on the first book, well not entirley, but the author could've at least kept up on the importance of in-charater.

wow I didn't know he was terminally ill...I'm so sorry to hear that. I've read the whole series so far, and although a few points of it are slow, the most recent book makes up for it. As for my favorite characters, right now, for the guys it's Mat and Loial (even though he's a minor character, he's the one I most identify with). As for the ladies, it would have to be Rand's three loves. My favorite books of the series has to be Crown of Swords and Knife of Dreams.

My favorite women were Nynaeve and (though we only see her in 'god this is annoying yet oddly intriguging' Mat vision POV) I think I'm a fan of Tuon too...except for the whole head shaving thing...I love my hair too much to do that.

I am on book 5 right now, getting to read a lot of it as i'm stuck home with a seriously bad flu, and I have to say that while Rand completely gets on my nerves with his somewhat pretentious angst, it's still a good time. I love Nynaeve, she's so mean, but well meaning, haha. I am hoping Perrin comes back in a big way soon, because he's my other favorite character, and book 5 is pretty devoid of any Perrin storyline.
I love the books however!

I really loved the series, but I just couldn't take it watching Rand slowly going berserks. To me the books just got worse with each one, but everyone has there own tastes.
By the way, did anyone hear that Hollywood is going to make the series into a movie?

Wow, that would be very hard considering the complexities in the series

I couldn't see the series being made into movie, just imagine what it'll look like when Rand starts yelling at himself.

I know. Thats one topic that came up in another guild I'm in. Though, I don't know if its true or not.
But, generally the books are better then the movies and there are a lot of people who would not like to see it made into movie.

I don't think WoT could be made into a movie...not a live action one anyway...perhaps animation would work, but that would just take away from the effects the books go for...it's just one of those which can only be a book...

I think it'd be hard to show the stuff with Rand and LTT in a movie. Has anyone else noticed that there is no such thing as an unimportant character in WoT? If a character is mentioned, they'll be important sooner or later. I really don't know how he keeps track of all these people. surprised RJ's sick? crying But he has to finish WoT!! crying
