Hmm . . . well, here is a suggestion from a once frequent poster, now
veteran blue moon poster.
How about we all get back to the damn roleplaying! How's that for an
idea. This guild has degenerated into a bunch of mindless monkeys
bashing on keyboards to create barely recognizable sentences that
only b***h about how some other guy is god modding. See, the other
problem is, from what i've seen, there is too wide a range of skills in
this guild. Not just that, but a wide range of prefered RP rules too. Some
people enjoy being munchkins while others don't even use magic. Some
people can roleplay very well with a large bulk, some can't, and some
can even roleplay using very little in the way of words. This variety
creates too many things to b***h about, which people will always do just
to get some attention, or get someone in trouble, and it's the internet
so nobody cares if they do it anyway.
I say get rid of all these damnedable power level rules and rp
requirements, and make a rating system that will rate the kind of rp,
the content there of, and the level of skill needed to survive. Something
like this -
Level of magic/Level of rp/Technology/Content.
Then make your distinctions between all of them, and a grand list of
what they all mean. Such as follows
Level of Magic
Level of magic - The amount of magic, and types of magic allowed in
this certain roleplaying thread. This will tell you if you can be all powerful
like a god, or you can only conjure fire in your hand, or even no magic
at all. The ratings for these are as follows.
Extreme - You can will the world around you to whatever you want, if you
decide to be that powerful. Magic is the world, and you part of this world.
Demi-god - You can use magic, but it is restricted to large blasts and such.
You cannot however bend the world to how you want, but you can shape
some things to better suit you.
Moderate - Magic is a learning experience, and comes naturally to some.
Blasts of elements and transportation spells are allowed, and you can
become powerful, but only if you master all the types of magic, which is
difficult.
Shaman - Magic is limited, spells require rituals and magic is not so easily
to learn. There might be one or two people in your community that can
use it, and even then, they cannot do much. Blessings and curses are
common, items can be made into magical artifacts, though not always
this limited.
Caveman - Magic? What is this, Ma-gic? You speak weird little man! J/k,
though in this kind of world, you will find NO magic. None what-so-ever.
Magic is either a tale of days past, or just never existed, and only exists
in the minds of crazy people, or so they think.
Thats atleast how I would do it. Then there would not be such confusion
and bitching out of all the guild because this thread is different from that
thread, and no one can agree on s**t. With this kind of system, it would
give you all the info you needed to know about limitations that you would
ever need to know about the thread. Few questions would arise about
how powerful someone can be, and if someone accuses someone else of
god modding, all they have to do is refer to this rating, and argument
over. I think I may try and institute this rating system to a few of my
other guilds, it seems like it would work very well as a roleplay standard
and help out so many people with all of their confusion. But yeah, this is
just the suggestion of a veteran blue moon poster whom just wants to see
this guild get better, and possibly join back if it ever does.
