Rage stopped for a moment, shifting her paws in the sand beneath her, the wind blew gently off the water, making her nose wrinkle a bit, the smell would have to be getting used to, she knew that. Her tail swayed a bit slower now, as she considered the scents carried by the wind.
Truthfully Rage was not teh brightest pup, being quite young and she hadn't been taught many things. She only knew how to run...thats what she was good at despite her physical limitations of her heart and aching body. Hunting, tracking, and such however were a whole different story, she was inexperienced at it, though she believed a couple of the scents carried by the wind was that of Amelie and Phib.

It was good to know, least her conscience was telling her the right way in which to travel, she wondered how she would act around Phib now though. Being around Amelie would pose no problem what so ever, Amelie was calm, Amelie, had essentially saved Rage.

Phib however was a bit intimidating, though Rage would let that go, with everything she had been through she had to try and be strong, no matter what her mind toldher and tried to make her do. That voice...she still didn't know what it was. Perhaps later she could ask Amelie, in private, so that her new friend Cael would not think of Rage as being odd.

"Close he is yes." Rage stated turning to Cael with a smile, her amber orbs seemed to glow in the few rays of the sun as the giant orb of fire was disappearing below the land that separated the earth from the sky. Soon it would be dark...that could pose a problem. Since Rage had come, she hadn't asked Amelie or Phib where she would stay...who she'd stay with. That would be a problem, for since Rage's loss, she had not slept well at all. She would constantly toss and turn in the night, giving her a bad nights sleep...which was not needed.

"This way..." Rage said with a sway of her tail as she began to tred forwards once again, she wondered though, how Cael would react to Phib's size and presence, moreso, how she would act, and how he would act around her...after everything Phib had seen and done for her. These things she wondered.

From the silence, musing thoughts began to arouse his emotions as an uncertain fear of meeting an Alpha began to gnaw at his stomach, knotting it and churning it in a sickly fashion.
Cael never did feel comfortable in the presence of those who ranked above him as the fears and taunts from his old pack unceasingly tore at his heart. What was he to become? Certainly not a true heroic, strong and powerful wolf as his fur was not blessed with the ancient tribal markings of the ancients; no red or white markings of totems or the powerful entities adorned his fur.

 He was simply-

"Nothing, I am nothing," he muttered as his paws sulked and dragged across the sand. "I cannot become the one I want to be..."

The once vibrant green eyes lost their captive gleam, the fire that had once dwelled within was dying off as his head hung down low. How could he even look up? He was not worthy, no- how could he even bare to look upon anyone? Maybe coming to the packlands was just a mistake; he was just a useless pup and why would anyone want him around?

 But...there was one person.

 Rage.

Cael's eyes quickly darted upwards in a sheepish manner as he stared at her with a small smile. She, Rage, had been the only one whom had ever noticed him besides his pack but such looks were not so warm nor friends. Many times they were scoffs, scorns and hackles that adressed him as being tainted or unworthy.

But, quickly, his mind rebuked all thoughts of the past and focused upon the black pup before him. This was a new future he was weaving, a new destiny, and he would certainly not let the past intervine.

His ears suddenly perked up as Rage spoke. The Alpha was close and, soon, he'd be making a first impression and asking to stay. Oh, he couldn't let his words faulter! The last thing he would want was to make a fool out of himself. Cael took a deep breath as he continued padding alongside Rage.

"Okay," he replied with a softened voice, timid and unsure of what was to come next.

Rage stood on all fours, her ears wished to lay against her skull though she kepted them perked forward, her tail swaying back and forth a bit, the very tip of it swishing the sand beneath her paws. She shifted herself a bit, her amber eyes now focused on Phib, he seemed different today, though she could not place it.
Her mouth suddenly went dry, she quickly glanced towards the ocean, it called to her but Phib had said not to drink from it...wonder why? But enough of thinking of food and water, another subject had to be adressed now..Cael, he wished to stay, and Rage wondered if Phib would let him.

"G-good afternoon Phib..." Rage said sheepishly, practically forcing the words from her throat. Why was she so nervous? Phib had helped her before, why was she like this?

"This is Cael, yes" Rage stated with a nod of her head and a sway of her tail. She wondered where Amelie was, but she'd probably come later...maybe, hopfully. "He helped me..." she continued, "I couldn't...remember which way to go..."

His ears suddenly fell flat as an unfamiliar voice adressed them; one that was older, deep with wisdom and a tone that reminded him much of his own fathers. Instantly, Cael hid away his eyes from the Alpha as a meek and lowly feeling stormed through his whole body. Cael was unfit to look into the Alpha's eyes, let alone the eyes of anyone else. It was fear, fear that witheld him from breaking free from the tangles of his burdens and foul emotions.
But he couldn't live like this forever! Cael had ran away from his pack for the very same reason; to fight away his fears and become the son his father had always yearned for him to become. He couldn't, no- he wouldn't let fear take hold of him.

Slowly drawing his head up as Rage adressed and responded to Phib, Cael leveled his vibrant green eyes with those of the Alpha, Pib. Though his paws seemed to quiver slightly, his black lathered tail swayed behind him in a casual manner.

 First impressions were always important.

A small, warm smile drew upon the young pup's maw as he stared into the eyes of the black wolf before him.

Littered with scars and black as that of a moonless night, Phib seemed to emulate the very wolf his father sought as his son. But how could Cael ever become such a noble wolf, one who was sure to bestow honor and strength within his pack. A soft sight emitted from his maw as his muzzle bunched up. This was one wolf he could never be like, he knew all to well that he could never be a warrior.

Bucking up his courage and picking up his mood, he smiled.

 "Hello, Phib."

Amber orbs watching Phib intently glanced now and then back to Cael, Rage smiled though she still felt utterly stupid and helpless for getting lost so easily. Her memory had things fade away so quickly it was hard for Rage to remember anything of where Amelie and Phib were in an area or which way she had to go to find them. Her tail hung behind her now, no longer swaying, blinking once or twice she peered around, Amelie was not here...Rage did so want to ask her what that voice in her head was... what it was trying to do adn if she could get rid of it.
But she didn't want to say anything now, Phib might look at her in an odd fashion, Cael too...but thats another reason she was here, Cael. He was nice, he helped her, he wanted to stay, he wanted to get stronger as she wished to, she wondered if he would be allowed to stay.

Rage winced though it was hard to see and determine what she did, as her mind flooded with questions and random images and depictions of situations current and past. She also though had a question for Phib...or Amelie, whoever could help...Rage had not been here long, and she did not know where she should stay...what area she should stay around. SO many questions...

Standing before the Alpha, Cael took a deep breath as his ears fell slightly flat against his skull for a few moments. Lost? It depends how you looked at the current situation if you could deem the young pup "lost". It was true that he knew not where he was going yet, at the same time, he knew that anywhere was better than home.
Glancing up into Phibs eyes, Cael tilted his head slightly with a mild thought process. "I know where I am but...I've wandered away from my pack. But it doesn't matter because they don't want me," he softly replied with a low whine.

He wasn't strong; no markings of the ancients tribal totems nor colors of the packs burnished his hide. Rejected within the sight of his pack and as well as the ancients, Cael was left to find his own fate. But the feeling of forlorn loneliness toiled and weighed heavy upon his heart as he still couldn't fathome nor understand why he, one of the few pups from his pack, was not tarnished nor marked with strength nor honor?

Perhaps that futures not for me, he thought as his muzzle wrinked with an ill sensation; painful thoughts and recollections rampaging through his every train of thought.

But he couldn't live like this!

Shaking his head as he was brushing and whisping away the unwanted thoughts, Cael huffed a deep breath.

"I...I want to stay in these lands, I mean- I want to be apart of your pack," he commented with a rather assured tone in his voice as his green orbs trailed upwards back towards the black wolf. "May I join your pack, Phib?"

Well this was strange. Not in the way that he found most things strange, it was simply a surprising kind of strange. Would a mother truly not want her child? He was all for joining, but he was also cautious about mistaking the boy's opinion as that of a frustrated runaway. "Not want you?" He remarked. "And what would your mother say about that? It's better to face things rather then run away from them." The long black wolf fixed his posture and leaned the brunt of his weight across his hips, slanting his body to the side.
"You are more then welcome to join, if you wish. I certainly would not turn someone down who helps ladies in distress. But, I would caution you to do something hastily." Was it really coming down to population? In his old land, he had always managed large numbers of people, and never had they had any problems about females loosing or eating children. In fact- the only maternal problem he had ever encountered had been with his own mother.

Just the thought of her gave him a slight headache, and he adjusted his jaw against the roof of his mouth. But despite all the animosity she would one day hold for him, he regretted not treating her as a mother. Perhaps things might have been different if he had not attached himself so much to the father.

Ears flopped down a bit now as Rage sat a few feet from the boys, hearing them speak to one another, Cael looking so small next to Phib...but Cael was young, he'd grow bigger and stronger, she was sure of it. But Phib had truth in his words...
Cael shouldn't do things too hastily...not at all...

This worried Rage a bit, a low whine almost escaping her throat as she sat "out of the bubble," was Phib trying to get Cael to go back home? But but...he said he wanted to stay.

She shifted her paws looking down, perhaps Phib was right, to leave a home for good was not always the best idea...but losing a new found friend so quickly, wasn't a good idea either. Truthfully, Rage didn't have anymore real-close friends, not after she lost Nix and her family. Amelie was quite nice, as Mozelle was too, Phib too in a strange way...but she was just getting used to these surroundings...losing a friend now, losing Cael...would be hard.

But she couldn't say anything, as a new friend, Rage wanted Cael to be happy...but how could she do this? Cael helped her when she got lost, but how could she help him? She wasn't very strong, nor very fast right now (her legs still recovering from the amount of travel she had endured before), and she couldn't hunt or track or do anything.

She felt a cackle echo in her mind as her ears perked forward,"Thats right...you can't do anything....anything at all...."

She shook her head again, as if trying to shake the mind out her ears, then she looked back to Phib and Cael, wondering what was going to happen now...

Cael stifled at a response, biting his lower lip as Phib inquired upon what his mother would say in this case. But...that was exactly it. What would his mother say?
 He never knew her.

After she gave birth to her only son, Cael, she immediately passed away to causes that were unknown but in a way that was told as, "it was her time to go" or "the ancients had found her work to be complete." But what did that mean? Why did she have to leave so soon? No one could ever give a sensible explaination and, perhaps, death was a concept that everyone understood. Yet if everyone understood death, then why didn't Cael?

"I-I don't know what my mom would say," he replied as he closed his eyes momentarily and spoke quietly. "I never knew her...Dad said she passed away after I was born."

"See," he began as his thoughts began to muse and ramble as he began to answer the first part of Phibs question, "the first wolves of the packs, the Ancients, bless every wolf with the sacred markings in white or red. Those show strength, success and a destiny but I don't have either color and...that's a bad omen." As his paws shifted upon the ground in a slightly nervous display, the young pup bucked up his courange and continued.

"So everyone thought of me as an outcast and a sign of bad fortunes, even my Dad but he doesn't want me and is tired of me not being strong enough or fast enough. That's why I ran away...and came across Rage." As he slowly peered up towards Phib, he sighed. "I just want somewhere to belong."

He nodded his head to the advice spoken by the black Alpha, his mind already set upon his final decision.

"I would like to join your pack." He announced with a smile as he glanced over towards the black, young wolfess that sat near him. "I want to stay here with Rage."

Rage shifted her paws in front of her again looking at the ground beneath her as words seemed to pass in one ear and out the other, some some things caught her attention but she did not look up...only played with the tuft of grass in the dirt before her, it kept her from jumping forward to keep Cael from leaving if he had been told...though she doubted Phib would do such a thing...and she was right.
The moment Rage heard that Phib allowed Cael to stay she peered up, tail swaying slowly yet with a happy flick now and then, she was getting to have Cael be around her, for an even longer time. She was getting a friend...

Tail swaying back and forth she looked to Phib with a happiness not seen before, as if her eyes were saying 'thank you,' she hoped he would understand it without her speaking, she was still tumbling with words now and again, and she did not wish to confuse others...

Excited she was, now she could get stronger, and Cael could get stronger, they could do it together! These things tumbled through her mind, but moreso, she was glad Cael got to stay, she didn't want to lose another friend...not at all.

She wriggled a bit where she was, holding in the excited-ness within her. So many things to do...so many things.

...uh oh...she forgot to ask Phib before...

She mustered up a bit of courage and looked towards Phib again, hoping her speech would be fine now, "Phib..." she said with almost a squeak, she knew she should've asked this before, "ummmm....well I mean..." think Rage think! You can spill out a few words from your throat can't you?

"Amelie...or you...or others...they did not tell me where I should stay..." she said with a shaky voice, surprisingly though her words were fine, just a bit shaky, it was getting better though. But teh question still stood. Rage had no idea what parts of the territory were safe for her to go to, especially with her memory...and she didn't know if there were den sites where she was supposed to go. She wasn't totally sure of them.

That brought up another question, were there other pups too? But she'd wait, perhaps she'd find them out sooner or later. Then she peered towards Cael from the corner of her amber eyes, a smile on her face...he could stay.

The brown and purple hued pup shook his head as a warm smile curled upon his maw. "Don't be. It's alright...everyone experiences loss sometime," he replied as his swayed his tail nonchalantly behind him.
When Phib once again presented an invitation to stay in the packlands, a wide grin spread across the young pups maw as he suddenly divereted his gaze towards the black she-wolf.

His heart raced as his body began becoming plauged and immersed with a flood of emotion, Cael was falling deeper and deeper into his friendship with Rage. But oh how he felt invincible when he sat at her side! The feeling of being able to conquer or vanquish anything that came his way, for the first time, made him feel as if he was much more than a drifting shadow; he felt, in a sense, complete.

As Rage spoke, Cael listened intently as he flickered his ears and looked between both the Alpha and the young pup. Where would they go? Were the to stay in the same den as the older wolves or find their own place? But to Cael, It didn't matter as long as he was with Rage.

Cael had made a friend, the first real friend whom he held affection for.

Leaping towards Rage as he yipped excitedly, Cael tumbled and nuzzled her in a tender manner. "I'm not leaving! I'm gonna stay here with you, Rage!" Tugging upon her ear in a playful manner, the young male wuffed and rolled onto his back.

 "I'm stayin' here with you."
