November 10, 2006
I went to visit Sally and Sylvestanya today and bring them some more milk. I've been going every couple of days and getting to know the both of them fairly well. Sally is such a sweet thing though sometimes she's kinda clueless. I suppose that comes from transforming from a pumpkin, she has no idea what the rest of the world is like. And Sylve is an angel, just coos and slobbers all over you.
But today when I went over...WOW!! A gigantic pumpkin stood in the clearing right next to the patch!! I couldn't believe my eyes and started calling out for Sally. To my surprise she came out from inside the pumpkin! I must have had a shocked look on my face because she laughed and welcomed me inside. And so I went in and was shocked yet again.
The inside of the pumpkin was empty and there was a little fireplace right in the middle of it that went up to the stem. I finally managed to ask Sally how this had happened, and she said something about pumpkins and sacrificing their life force and well to be honest, I didn't really follow much of the details. She looked kinda upset too, so I didn't want to push. She asked if I would help her get some stuff for their new house and I agreed. There was a whole bunch of unused stuff at the HQ, as long as I could lug it all the way here there shouldn't be a problem.
I left shortly after to start gathering stuff. I still can't believe it - they are living inside a giant pumpkin!!

November 11, 2006I found something special today. I was exhausted but couldn't sleep for some reason. It was a nice calm evening and I thought it might be relaxing to go walk on the beach and watch the sun set, so I slipped out of my tree and started off. It was getting dark faster than I expected though, I guess I haven't adjusted to the winter time yet. I knew I wasn't going to make it to the beach on time but kept walking, maybe the sound of the waves would put me to sleep. I let my power flare for a bit so I could see in the dark. I don't use it as often as I should and still can't control it very well, especially when I'm emotional, but it's slowly getting better as I age. It still exhausts me when I use it though, which was why I was so tired today. Sally thinks I should learn to control it and I suppose she's right. Besides, Sylve loves it and I can't resist showing off for her.
The only light out now was the moon overhead ( and well, me ) but like always I didn't want to call extra attention to myself, so once I got out of the wooded area, I kept the power levels to just as much as necessary to see. I was right, the sound of the waves was calming, but now that the sun had set it was getting a bit cold. I sat down on the sand, shivering against the breeze, and brought my legs up to my chest. I let my mind wander for awhile as I sat there listening. I don't know how long it was that I sat there, I guess I lost track of time, when I saw something glint in the sand. At first I just thought my eyes were playing tricks on me in the dark, when there was another glitter in the same spot.
I crawled over to the area, the sand gritting against my knees softly. I didn't see anything strange...wait! Light reflected off of the polished surface of something round, almost completely buried in the sand. I reached down to pick it up and blew gently on it to dust away the remaining sand desperately clinging to it and examined it closer. 'Such a pretty rock' I thought. It was a dark blue with white sparkles and a green glow about it. Wait, green glow? Rocks don't glow.
That was when I felt a slight beat to it. I almost dropped it in surprise. Uncertain, I held it to my ear and listened intently. I didn't have to wait long, in just a few moments time, a slight thump echoed from it. "What in the world??"
Then I remembered what had taken place on this very beach just a few weeks ago. So much had happened since then I had almost forgotten about it. They had found eggs of a new Pae species, Naiads. I frowned at the memory of the Naiad egg I had found, it seemed to be cursed with bad luck. I looked at this egg and it seemed different somehow. I thought they had all been found though, that little faerie made such a big deal over them and had insisted on gathering them all up. I looked at my egg again...I guess I can understand how this one could have been missed, especially in the dark. The moon would have to be shinning just right on it for it glimmer like it had. A sudden thought occurred to me... maybe it had been the light of my power and not the light of the moon. I suddenly felt very destined to have found this little egg. I looked around me for that fluttering faerie and not seeing her anywhere decided it was safe to take home with me.
I set off for my tree at once, I guess feeling a bit guilty. On the way home I remembered that the faerie had mentioned that the eggs needed to be under water when they hatched. I wasn't sure how old my egg was and decided I needed to put it in some water before my mind would be able to rest tonight. The idea of it hatching while not in water...well I didn't even want to have to think about it. It seemed like forever until I finally got home. I put the egg down in a safe place and walked over to the small stream nearby. 'How in the world am I going to do this' I thought scratching my head.
I think I might have started to doze off when it hit me. A dam! Well a sorta dam anyways. Bleh, this was gonna get messy. I raised the level of my power so that it was light enough to see what I was doing perfectly and set to work.
A few hours later I was done. I had widened and deepened part of the stream so that it made a mini lake. At each end there was a sort of crude gate that I had fastened out of some branches, that slowed down the flow of water. It wasn't perfect but it was dark and I was tired and it would have to do for now. I went back over the tree, grabbed the egg and plopped it in. "Welcome home, Asrai." I had decided on the name while I worked. It was something I remembered from my readings...it meant water-faerie. I thought it fit nicely.
Now that that task was done, I rinsed off my hands downstream. I felt filthy but the water was too shallow to take a bath here and I was too exhausted to go anywhere else tonight. The dirt and mud and wood stuck under my claws were driving me crazy though and if I wanted any sleep tonight they would have to be cleaned first. This was the first time I had ever actually used them to make something. I remember feeling proud as I climbed back up into the safety of my tree and blissfully drifted off to sleep.

I swear every time I go over to Sally and Sylve's pumpkin house something new has happened. Sylve grew into a toddler sometime into the night and managed to burn her hand pretty badly while exploring. I offered to escort them to the Healing House, I wasn't sure exactly where it was as I haven't been there yet, but I'm sure it can't be too hard to find. Sally asked if I would take the little girl though and babysit her for a few hours. Poor thing, she looked like she had been up all night running after the newly crawling troublemaker. It's not like I had anything do to so I agreed and spent the rest of the day babysitting. We had to go to HQ first to find out where the healing house was. It was a little brisk out but the walk was nice and Sylvestanya enjoyed seeing new things especially the beach. One day when it's warmer we should all come back and have a picnic or something. The fairies at the healing house fixed her up in no time and gave her a small piece of candy for being so good, which I really wish they hadn't. The child seemed to go into hyper over drive so I took her back to the beach and let her crawl around to her heart's content. When she finally tired herself, we walked back to the patch. It was nice to spend some time alone with the little girl for a change. She's so full of life. Sally was incredibly thankful and looked like she had gotten at least a few hours of good sleep. I was just glad to help and told her if she needed me again to just let me know.

December 25, 2006Today is Christmas -the first for all of us. I felt kinda bad but I had to leave Asrai behind, there was just no place for him to be safe underwater at Sally's, what if he hatched! I brought him back something special though, so he wasn't forgotten.
When I got to Sally's there were a whole bunch of little gift bags outside their front door in the snow. I couldn't help grinning, I guess the legend about Santa was true! And we must have been pretty good too 'cause there were so many of them! I brought the bags inside and told Sally and Sylvestanya all about Christmas and Santa before we opened the bags. Inside there were all different colored plushies. Sally picked out a green one, and I chose a red demon one and purple colored one that felt really special.

We let Sylvestanya have the rest of them, after all she's only a little girl and she doesn't really have any toys of her own. Oh, except a very special one - Santa had even brought little Asrai a plushie that looks almost just like him!! It's blue but it has bubbles instead of stars like Asrai. At first I thought it was kinda silly for Santa to bring him a plushie, cause well, how would he be able to play with it since he has to stay underwater? But once I finally got it away from Sylvestanya and got to hold it, I realized that the material it was made of felt funny, almost rubbery. It was water-proof! That Santa, he thinks of everything!! When I got back to the tree later, I put it in Asrai's puddle for him to keep him company until he hatches. And I tucked my special little purple plushie right next to my bed in a safe spot.
Oh I almost forgot to mention that I had brought a bunch of food over to Sally's that I had scrounged around at HQ's for and we had a nice little feast. It was a good day.

Asrai hatched from his egg today. It was a really good thing I had put it in some water or I don't know if the poor little guy would have made it. I was out doing chores around the tree, when I heard the funniest sounds - bubbling, splashing, gurgling. I raced over and saw a little head peeking out of a cracked over egg shell, bubbles coming up everywhere. At first I was afraid he was drowning but I guess he just had to get used to breathing or something cause the bubbles stopped after a bit.
It took him awhile to get fully out of his egg (his tail got stuck in it, it was so cute) so I didn't get to have a good look at him until later. He's so handsome though, blue with twinkling stars all over, green hair and the most mesmerizing yellow eyes.

January 4, 2007 You remember that plushie I got for Christmas, the special one I named Amethyst? Well, you will never believe what happened to her this morning!! It was early and I was still sleeping. I had fallen asleep the night before snuggling with Amethyst. I know its lame for a teenager to still sleep with a plushie, but I get kinda lonely sometimes. Not like Asrai is much company, since he can't come out of his puddle. Anyways, I was sound asleep snuggling with my plushie when suddenly, it wasn't a plushie anymore!! It had turned into a toddler! A very loud and unhappy toddler at that. Scared me half to death to wake up and find a toddler lying right where Amethyst had been. I scooped the toddler into my arms and started rocking her. I didn't have any idea what had happened but I slowly put it together as I calmed her down. I've seen a lot of crazy magical stuff happen on this island so it only made sense that that's what happened since the toddler in my arms looked almost exactly like my plushie (which was no where to be found). So I guess I have another little one to take care of now. I'll take her over to Sally's later today so she can play with Sylvestanya.

January 4, 2007
I finally decided to go to the Winter Formal. I've been hearing about it for awhile but was reluctant to go. Well Sally made me go really. And she made me take Sylvestanya too. I guess she needs a break occasionally too. I had such a great time though! I met a new friend, Karma. We talked, and danced all night long, and I had the best strawberries ever. She even helped me get Sylvestanya home.
[chainedfaye] "Late again" Alaera mumbled to herself as she walked into the Healing House. The party was already in full swing it seemed as the music poured out of the building. She nodded politely to the fae that greeted her as her eyes started to sweep the room, looking for someone she knew (which of course was highly unlikely since she had hardly met any other Pae on the island yet). 'I don't know why I bothered to come' she thought grumpily, even though she already knew the answer. It was the only way to stop Sally once she had heard about the event - she wouldn't quit going on and on about how the teen needed to get out and make friends. And worse she had added with a conspiratorial wink, boys. Alaera groaned. Not to mention when she had finally convinced Alaera to go, she had refused to go herself. And THEN she had shoved Sylvestanya in her arms and told her to take the toddler too.
She looked down at the squirming kid in her arms, not sure what she should do with her. Sylvestanya had been immediately entranced by the fluttering fae just in front of her (and fortunately for the fae, out of her grasp). But that didn't stop this toddler! She reached and reached, squirming around in Alaera's arms, her chubby little hands grasping the air. She let out a delighted squeal as she thought her finger brushed up against the fae's wings. So close!!! spookyx7 Karma wandered into the party, she had heard talking and music and knew this was where Fate was leading her next. She looked around not knowing anyone, but knew this was a good time to get to meet others. [chainedfaye] Hearing the giggling laughter of other children, Alaera followed the sound to find a daycare. Several children were already there, laughing and playing and Alaera smiled. 'Good she needs to make some friends'
"Alright Syl be a good girl and play nice" She said as she dropped the child off in the daycare. "I'll be back later."
As Alaera made her way back to the main hall, she wasn't paying attention to where she was going...was that a penguin? She'd only seen them in her mother's book before, but she was certain that's what it was...only what was a penguin doing here? She didn't have much time to think about it though, as she belatedly discovered there was a obstacle in her path...a rich chocolate brown fae shaped obstacle. Unable to stop she went crashing into the other Pae.
After she had righted herself again, she blushed and started to apologize profusely "Oh dear, I'm soo sorry, I wasn't paying enough attention, here let me help, so sorry" she rambled on as she tended to do when she got embarrassed.
Sylvestayna let out a cute bubbly laughed and waved awkwardly. "be be 'la!" After the teen finally disappeared she looked around the room and spotting some other kids, and started to clumsily crawl over. She grinned - new victims!! spookyx7 Karma wasn't paying any attention when the other pae crashed into her. Karma fell to the ground and then looked over at the teen girl. "Oh, that's perfectly fine." She sat up and smiled, "That was just Fate leading you to me." [chainedfaye] Alaera bent down and offered the fae her hand. "Well I am sorry. That seems to happen a lot when I'm around. I'm Alaera, by the way." spookyx7 Karma took her hand and used her help to get up. "Oh, it's fine. Fate points us all to places in unusual ways." Karma shook her hand, "My name is Karma. It is wonderful to meet you." [chainedfaye] "It's nice to meet you too" Alaera politely replied. Fate? The girl had mentioned it twice now but she had no idea what it was.
"Excuse me," she began "but what exactly is fate??" spookyx7 Karma smiled, "Fate? She's the one who guides us all." It amazed her how many pae didn't know who Fate was. "She leads us to where we belong. Everything that happens is supposed to happen and Fate is why." Karma smiled hoping that made sense to the other girl. [chainedfaye] Alaera thought for a moment before replying. Well that makes sense, I guess. She grinned. "it would certainly explain a lot. Every time I get clumsy, something exciting and new happens." She rubbed the elbow that had bumped into Karma.
"Although I wish she'd pick a less painful method" spookyx7 "That's the fun in how she works." Karma said with a smile. She heard the word wish and then she looked at Alaera's elbow. "Does it feel better now?" Karma didn't know why but she felt like it would. [chainedfaye] Alaera blinked in surprise as her elbow tingled and then felt as good as new. "Actually yeah it does. But how did you know??" She eyed the other girl curiously. spookyx7 Karma shrugged, "I don't know really." She she figured Fate wouldn't let her stay in pain. "Want to get a drink or something?" They were standing in the middle of a hallway. [chainedfaye] "Yeah that sounds good." Her stomach grumbled and Alaera laughed "And maybe some food too!" She start to move over the refreshment table, keeping a careful watch for anymore pae shaped obstacles. spookyx7 Karma followed Alaera over to the refreshment table and took and apple. "This is a pretty nice place. Hula Bob's is pretty nice too." She had been there once before and it was fun too. [chainedfaye] "Hula bob's? Where's that?" Alaera repeated. "I really don't get out that often, mostly just stay in my tree and visit Syl and Sally" she explained. She felt kinda awkward, she wasn't as familiar with the island as she thought. Guess you couldn't learn everything from books. spookyx7 "It's a bar and grill on the beach. Hula Bob is the pae that runs it." Karma said and then took a bite of the apple. "He cooks and there is a dance floor and stuff it's pretty neat." [chainedfaye] "Oh! Well that sounds like fun, maybe I will go someday!" 'Better wait until Syl and Amethyst are older though' she thought. 'As often as I get stuck looking after them, I don't think it would be much fun with two toddlers too.'
Her stomach rumbled again and she started looking over the the food. Not seeing her favorite food, her face fell. "I wish they had some strawberries, those are so yummy." She nodded seriously. spookyx7 Karma smiled, "Yes, you should go. I will go again one day as well." She hadn't been there in a while, but then when Fate wanted her there she would be there.
Karma looked over and then smiled as she found what Alaera was looking for, "These?" She handed a fresh tray of strawberries over to her. They were the brightest, biggest, and juiciest strawberries Karma had ever seen. [chainedfaye] Alaera blinked. That was weird, she could have sworn there wasn't any strawberries here just a moment ago. She shrugged, oh well, and plopped on of the berries in her mouth savoring the taste of the juice. "Mmmm" she sighed.
"These are so much better than the ones I find in the wild. 'Course I've eaten most of those already but next spring Sally is gonna let me have a corner of the garden to grow some strawberries in."
She offered the basket of fruit to her new friend, smiling happily. "So has this fate led you on any interesting adventures?" she asked curiously. spookyx7 Karma smiled and took one of the berries from the basket. She chewed it slowly and then nodded, "Very good." She looked out over the room and saw all the other paes. "Oh, Fate leads me where I need to go to learn and grow. Every adventure, good or bad, is needed." Karma turned back to Alaera with a grin. [chainedfaye] Alaera nodded mindlessly. She had followed Karma's gaze and was looking out at the other Pae. So had never seen so many all at once before.
Her eyes drifted to those on the dance floor. She wasn't exactly sure what they were doing but it certainly looked like fun. She chuckled to herself...some of them looked like they had no idea what they were doing either.
She turned to Karma and grinned "Well, I think Fate is guiding us in the direction of the dance floor. " spookyx7 Karma looked out at the dance floor as well. She hadn't been dancing before. "She is? Well, we better go then." Karma led her out to the floor and then frowned, "What do we do next. I've never been dancing." Karma whispered this information to Alaera. [chainedfaye] "Ah.....well to be honest neither have I" Alaera confessed nervously. "I just thought it looked like fun."
She watched a few of the other Pae and tried to mimic their movements with her body. After a few moments of awkwardness, she gave up trying to copy them and just let her body move on its own accord.
She looked over at Karma and smiled "I dunno if this is how you are supposed to do it, but it's fun. Just let your body wiggle around to the music." spookyx7 Karma watched Alaera move around to the music, "Well, I guess I'll give it a try." Karma swayed and swung her hips. She felt the music in her movements, she wasn't too bad after all. "How do I look?" [chainedfaye] Alaera stopped shimmying around to watch Karma. 'Wow, she thought to herself, she's really good at this.'
"You look great, you're a natural!!" she exclaimed, laughing at her own awkwardness.
Alaera resumed dancing around and a flashback of her mother moving around to some music while doing the dishes entered her mind. She had looked so sensual...Alaera wondered if she could do it as well.
She started to move her hips in a figure eight motion and raised her arms above her hands, she closed her eyes and just let the music have control of her body. spookyx7 Karma smiled, "Thanks." She continued her movements and then watched Alaera's. "Wow, you look great too." She was right, Fate had led them to the dance floor. Karma danced to where she circled Alaera, Karma was having fun. [chainedfaye] Alaera smiled and blushed a bit at the compliment, her skin starting to lighten and glow slightly. She could never control her power through strong emotions, embarrassment being one of them.
The music started to change to a folk-ish tune, she laugh, and linked elbows with Karma and started to skip about in a circle with her friend.
spookyx7 Karma saw the other girl start to glow, "How pretty!" She hadn't seen any pae do that before. Karma felt the girl link arms with hers and followed Alaera's lead with a smile. [chainedfaye] Alaera blushed harder, which only caused her glow to brighten. "Umm, thank you. No ones ever called my power pretty before, usually just gets me into trouble." Her face fell as she thought of the past momentarily before brightening back up. She cocked her head to the side, almost breathless as they were dancing around. "It's called Electroluminescence. Can you imagine learning how to spell that as a kid" she laughed. "What's your power Karma?" spookyx7 Karma held fast to Alaera's arm as the danced in a circle, "Oh, well I think it's really pretty." Karma giggled at Alaera's joke, that would be hard to spell. "My power? I don't think I have one." She knew Fate would give her one, one day, but she didn't think she did yet. [chainedfaye] "Oh? Well that's ok. My aunt Sally, she doesn't have a power either. I'm not sure why I thought we were all born with one but I guess not. I heard though that there's a hut somewhere in the forest where you can make a potion to get a power, maybe you should visit there!!!" She suggested helpfully.
Alaera stopped dancing, out of breath. "I'm kinda tired now, you want to go get some punch?" spookyx7 "Fate will decide when it's time for me to gain my power. That's why I've always believed anyway." Karma nodded, but knew that hut wasn't for her.
"Yeah, me too. Maybe we can get a drink and then sit down?" She saw quite a few tables and was ready for a rest. The dancing was loads of fun. [chainedfaye] Alaera nodded. "Yeah that sounds good. Maybe we could sit with some other Pae." She added as she started to walk over and ladle herself some red looking liquid out of a bowl. She sniffed it before taking a sip and nearly choked.
"Oh my that's sweet." She somehow managed to cough out. spookyx7 Karma looked around, not know who to sit with. "Sure." She then watched Alaera choke on the drink, "Is it that bad?" Karma didn't mind sweet stuff and took a sip herself. She giggled, "Yeah, it's pretty sweet." [chainedfaye] Alaera cough a few more times. "No, its not bad, just a lot sweeter then mom used to make it. 'Course back then I was a kid and it wasn't a very good idea to give me much sugar. " Alaera laughed at the memory of her mothers face when she had shown up completely covered in mud, with string wrapped around her, barely able to walk.
"Did you have have sugar as a kid?" She asked curiously. It seemed kinda hard to believe that Karma could ever get so hyper. spookyx7 Karma listened to her story, it sounded nice. "Um..I don't really remember. I don't have parents." She was alone as a child on the isle, the only explanation in her mind was Fate and then Fate kind of became her mother. She did live with Joi's parents for a time..but that was long ago, Fate had helped her move on from there. [chainedfaye] "Oh" Alaera replied lamely. She felt kinda bad for bringing it up and wasn't sure what else to say.
Afraid of any awkward silence she suddenly piped up "Hey I should go check on my little sister before we sit down. You wanna come?" spookyx7 "It's not so bad, Fate leads me like no parent could." Karma said hearing the awkwardness in her voice. "Sure, that's sounds fun." Karma hadn't see any young ones since Saffron found a baby. [chainedfaye] Alaera grinned, awkwardness forgotten. She loved showing off Sylvestanya, after all what big sister wouldn't?
"Great!" she exclaimed and started to drag Karma along with her. "The nursery is just over here!" spookyx7 Karma felt herself getting pulled to the nursery and giggled. Alaera seemed really excited to show her, which made Karma excited too. [chainedfaye] Alaera hoped that Sylvestanya was being good as she wove through the multitudes of people on her way to the nursery. The little toddler could sometimes be a handful.
All her worries went out of her head as soon as she entered the nursery though. There Sylvestanya was, curled up in the corner, peacefully sleeping. Although, she wasn't sure how anyone could sleep with this racket. Alaera could have laughed.
Instead she tiptoed over and picked the tired little girl up into her arms and brought her back over to Karma.
She whispered "Karma, this is my little sister Sylvestanya. Sylvestanya, this is my new friend, Karma." spookyx7 Karma followed Alaera though the crowds to the nursery. She smiled at all the other paes and children around. Karma was never around children really, not since she was a child herself.
Karma smiled at the small pae. She was white and bluish, really pretty. "Oh, she's really pretty." Karma smiled, "Nice to meet you." She didn't really want to wake the small child up. [chainedfaye] Alaera smiled at Karma's soft tone. "Don't worry, if she can sleep through this, she can sleep through an earthquake" she laughed softly. Despite what she said, she really didn't want to have a cranky screaming child on her hands - that was Sally's expertise.
Alaera shifted Sylvestanya over to her other hip - the little girl was getting heavier and bigger by the day. She noticed the little girl was drooling on her shoulder and grimaced - she was gonna be sticky there later.
"She must be really tired. I guess it is kinda late. Maybe I should take her home?"
spookyx7 Karma smiled and watched the dutiful sister. "That is really great of you. I've never taken care of any little ones before." She wasn't sure she would, but knew that it was Fate's decision, not hers.
Karma nodded, "Yeah, that is probably best." Karma was a bit sad to have thier evening over, but knew it was for the best. "Maybe we could get together again sometime, if Fate wants it?" [chainedfaye] "Really?" Alaera questioned. "Well I think that you would be great with children. Maybe your fate will bring you someone to look after someday."
Alaera frowned at the thought of leaving though - she didn't really want to leave her new friend yet. Why did Sally have to stick her with the toddler anyway? She was starting to get rather annoyed until she looked down at her little sister's face and her heart softened. Who could be mad at that? She smiled and looked back up at Karma.
"If you ever end up in the Loka Nei forest around the Chai'en River, you should come visit us in my tree sometime. I'm sure the rest of my family would love to meet you." She nodded to emphasize her point, not realizing how incredibly vague her directions were. They made perfect sense to her.
spookyx7 "Yeah, you never know with Fate." The only thing Karma hated about Fate is that Karma gets pushed to meet paes and then never sees them again. Karma knew it was a learning/growing experience, but it often made her sad when she was alone.
"Yeah, if I'm ever that way I'll look for you." Karma said as she knew this was goodbye. "Have a great night, it was wonderful to meet you." [chainedfaye] Alaera turned to go when she had an idea and turned back to the brown fae. "Wait where do you live? Maybe I could visit you sometime too." spookyx7 Karma looked down, "I don't actually live anywhere. I just go where Fate takes me." She hadn't picked a spot to live in. She just figured that Fate would help her find the best place. [chainedfaye] "Oh. Ok. Well, hopefully we will run into each other again some day. " And she did too. She really liked this Karma girl, and something told her that they would meet again someday somehow.
Alaera frowned again. It just didn't seem fair to have to cut her night with her new friend short. She almost growled but Sylvestanya whimpered slightly in her sleep and she sighed in frustration instead.
"Well, I better get home before she wakes up. It is a bit of a long walk I guess." She turned and sadly started walking out, Sylvestanya in her arms. spookyx7 Karma nodded, "I'm sure we will." She waved as the girl started to walk away. She wondered if maybe she could walk with, but then decided not to ask. She didn't know why, but all of a sudden she was shy and didn't know how to ask. [chainedfaye] Alaera had only gotten a few steps outside before Sylvestanya suddenly woke up and started crying. She sighed and walked back into the house of Healing. There was no way she could walk home carrying a heavy screaming and squirming child. She slid down to the floor and started to rock the little girl back and forth, hoping to calm her.
She looked up and saw Karma still there and smiled. "Well, I guess I might be staying a little longer." spookyx7 Karma was sitting down at a table when she saw Alaera come back in. Karma's face brightened up the instant she saw her, "Oh, what happened?" She got up and walked over to Alaera and the child, thinking Fate had brought them back. [chainedfaye] Alaera shook her head and looked down at her little sister's face for a moment as the crying started subsiding as soon as they got back into the building.
She shrugged. "I dunno, she does this all the time. She can be perfectly content one moment, then just starts screaming the next, and then right back to being a giggling lump of drool. Sally and I can't figure it out. I wonder what's wrong now though. "
Alaera grinned, "I'm certainly glad you are still here." spookyx7 Karma nodded and then sat down next to Alaera, "Well, she's settling down now, maybe she likes it here?" Karma shrugged not really knowing what it could be.
"I'm glad you came back." Karma said with a smile, "Although I wish it wasn't because she was sad, maybe it's Fate again?" Karma looked down and the child and patted her head. [chainedfaye] Alaera nodded. "Perhaps. Or maybe it was just too cold out. I wonder if they faeries have a blanket around here that I could borrow. Would you mind holding her while I go ask?" spookyx7 Karma looked up at her, "Umm, sure." She held out her arms to take the child, she hadn't actually held a little one like this before, but didn't tell Alaera. [chainedfaye] Alaera leaned forward and moved Sylvestanya over into Karma's arms. "Here like this" and moved Karma's arm to support her head. "Perfect, you're a natural!" She stood up and said "I think she likes you too" as she started to walk off.
Sylvestanya looked up at the new person holding her and gooed happily. spookyx7 Karma looked down at the child and smiled, "Well, hello there. You don't seem so sad now." She wondered why the girl had settled down so much. [chainedfaye] Sylvestanya snuggled in against Karma. She had been so rudely interrupted from her nap, she intended to finish it and Karma was warm and relatively comfy. She yawned contently and closed her eyes.
Alaera didn't have much trouble finding a blanket. The fae here were quite helpful once she told them what it was for. So she thanked them after promising to return it as soon as possible and started back to Karma and Sylvestanya. As she got closer she realized Sylvestanya had fallen asleep in Karma's arms and couldn't help but think 'Awww how cute.'
Crouching down she said to Karma "Well it looks like the two of you bonded while I was gone." spookyx7 Karma looked down as the child got comfy. She placed her hand over her and smiled. "Yes, she calmed right down, I wonder why?" She wasn't sure what had woken here, just the jostling of their journey home? [chainedfaye] Alaera smiled down at them. "Well I got a blanket for her." She went ahead and draped it over the child, tucking it in a bit against Karma's arms. "Hey umm would you mind walking home with us. I'm afraid if we move her she might wake up again. And that way you'd know where we live in case fate even decided you should come visit." spookyx7 Karma smiled, "Sure, you don't think the journey will wake her, do you?" She slowly got up and held the girl tightly, but not too tightly. She didn't want to wake her up. [chainedfaye] No, I think she'll be alright. As long as she's warm. Syl's usually such a heavy sleeper. I can't figure out why she woke up crying earlier. It wasn't her diaper and she had dinner right before we left." Alaera walked beside Karma and held the door open for her. "I really appreciate you helping me." spookyx7 Karma followed Alaera and said "Thanks." When she opened the door. "You're welcome, I like helping and talking with you." She held the child close as they walked, "How far is it to your house?" [chainedfaye] "Well it is a ways" Alaera admitted. She was starting to feel a little guilty about asking her new friend to come with her. "I walk along the northern edge of the Tuatha'Ri Lake, along the Chai'en beach and cross the Chai'en river at a relatively shallow spot. It's not the easiest crossing so if you like we could go the long way. At least its a nice evening for a walk..." she trailed off. spookyx7 Karma listened to the instructions and shook her head, "It doesn't sound so bad, besides I have nothing else to do." The truth was she did whatever Fate led her too, so to here this is what she was meant to do. [chainedfaye] Alaera let out a relieved sigh. "So uh can I ask you something. You said you don't really have a home or family and stuff. So, you just wander around? " Alaera remembered when she just wandered around. It was nice at first but got really lonely after awhile, she was glad she found some family to be with. "Don't you get lonely sometimes?" spookyx7 "Well, I just showed up as a child. So, I just wandered and walked around. Fate leading me all the way." Karma said as she moved the child a little and hoped she didn't wake. "I had a home once, but when Fate showed me a new direction I took it." Karma sighed, "Yeah, I get lonely...but Fate's always there." Wasn't she? Karma shook her head to make that thought leave. [chainedfaye] Alaera noticed her move the girl. "Is she getting too heavy for you. I can hold her for awhile if you want to take a break" she offered, before grimacing. It sounded like she was doing Karma a favor when it really was the other way around.
Alaera nodded while listening to Karma's explanation. It made sense to her at the same time that it didn't make any sense at all, which didn't make any sense to her either. "Well, I'm still not really sure how that all works, but as long as you are happy that's all that matters" she smiled at her friend. "And if you do get lonely please come visit me. Maybe it's fate way of sending you to see me?" she suggested. spookyx7 "No, she's fine. I just needed to move her a bit." Karma said with a laugh. She felt the child's chest move up and down as she slept, she wondered what she was dreaming.
"Oh, I'm sure Fate will lead me to you again. She has once, hasn't she?" She really hoped that was true, she liked Alaera a lot and was going to miss her. [chainedfaye] Alaera nodded in response. They were at the beach now and she stopped to admire the beauty of the moon reflected down on the lake. "It's a such a peaceful and serene night" she said to no one in particular.
spookyx7 Karma stopped next to Alaera, "Yeah, it really is." She looked out over the lake and smiled, "Do you have a favorite place on the isle?" Karma didn't really, but was curious to know if Alaera did. [chainedfaye] Alaera took a moment to think before answering. She loved the forest, that was why she had made it her home. The quiet stillness, the leaves rushing in the wind, the dark solitude. She liked being with friends but there was also something in her that longed for time alone where she could just wander through the trees carefree. But she liked the beach at night times too, the waves crashing into the sand as the moon's reflection shimmered.
"The forest mostly" she finally answered. "But I do like the beach as well. At night though. "She looked over to her friend. "What about you? It sounds like you wander quite a bit you must have seen some amazing places." spookyx7 Karma watched as Alaera thought. She saw her face seem to light up in memories and wondered what she was thinking, "Well, I love it here and well...everywhere. No specific place is my favorite, mostly wherever I'm at in that moment is my favorite place. That sounds weird, I bet." Karma said with a small laugh. She turned her head to look out over the water again. [chainedfaye] Alaera laughed. "No" she admitted "not weird. It was hard for me to decide a favorite place. Everywhere you go has its own attraction, its own beauty if you look hard enough. Even Dragnid Forest." spookyx7 Karma nodded and smiled, it was nice having someone think her quirks weren't weird. "Well, you ready to walk some more?" She liked taking her time, it was nice to see everything on the way. [chainedfaye] Alaera started. She hadn't even realized she had stopped walking. "Yeah sorry about that. You sure you don't want me to hold her for awhile?" spookyx7 Karma shook her head, "Nah, she's fine. Not too heavy or anything." Karma walked beside Alaera, "Do you like having family to take care of?" She hadn't had anyone to take care of before, and wanted to know what it was like. [chainedfaye] Alaera nodded. "Before I had any family on the island, I was just wandering around, kinda lost. I didn't trust, like, or know anyone. It was nice in a way, I didn't have any worries or responsibilities, I could do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. But it got lonely I guess and felt empty. There was no real point to it. But its different now. Not as empty. And warmer. " She wasn't sure how else to explain it, she wasn't good at these kinds of things. spookyx7 Karma listened iner life sounded alot like her own. Wandering aimlessly was something that could cause loneliness, but she always had to remember that she had Fate guiding her, so she wasn't alone. "That sounds nice...wonderful even." She said with a soft smile [chainedfaye] Alaera didn't know quite why, but she had a sudden feeling that the fae needed a hug...and so she reached and gave her a great big bear hug, trying not to squeeze the little girl stuck in the middle too much - she still didn't want to have to deal with a cranky little sister at the moment. spookyx7 Karma's eyes widened with the hug, she had never actually had one before and wasn't sure what to do. She couldn't hug back, since she had the baby in her arms. "Thanks...I think I needed that." [chainedfaye] Alaera felt suddenly embarrassed by what she had done and she started to glow a slightly. Trying to play it off, she let her power flow free saying, "It's a little dark here, I'll light the way." She hesitated for a moment before adding, "I'm glad I could help." spookyx7 "That's a good idea." Karma said and followed Alaera. She had know idea the other girl was embarrassed, she was still feeling dizzy from the hug. "You are a great help." Karma said, Alaera had taught her a lot in one night. [chainedfaye] Alaera nodded. They had passed the beach now and were coming up to the shallow river crossing. She turned to Karma "You better let me hold her now. It can be kinda slippery here if you aren't used to it. I don't want you to fall in, its freezing this time of year, you get sick for sure. " spookyx7 Karma nodded and handed the child over. She instantly felt lighter, but then she liked the heaviness of the child, made her feel useful. "Ok, I follow you over." [chainedfaye] Alaera started to wade in looking for the rock foot stones she had placed some time ago. It was a bit hard in the darkness and she had to really let her power free for it to be bright enough to see well. Once she had found the first one, she called back to Karma. "There are foot stones here for us to walk across on. Be careful though they can get mossy and slippery." She waited until Karma got close before moving to the next stone to make room for her. spookyx7 Karma slowly followed Alaera out onto the stone. She stuck her hands out for balance. The light from Alaera was helpful, "Thanks for the light." She waited to go to the next step with her arms wiggling a bit. [chainedfaye] Alaera hopped quickly from stone to stone, making sure to keep a close eye on her friend. She tried to keep as much light as she could close to Karma, to guide her along, but the effort was quickly exhausting her. Her heart warmed at the thanks she received though, glad that for once her power had been helpful.
spookyx7 Karma continued until she hit a rock funny and down she went. "Oof!" She landed on her rear near the other side so it was very deep. "Well, good thing you have the baby." She would have dropped her for sure. [chainedfaye] Alaera hurriedly rushed over to the other side of the shore, jumping swiftly over the rocks she had gotten to know so well, before gently setting down the still slumbering child. She knew she could be any help to Karma holding Sylvestanya. She raced back and reached her hand out to the fallen fae. spookyx7 Karma took her hand and pulled at it to get up, "I think I'm ok, good thing I was near shore." She laughed and then pulled at Alaera's hand some more. [chainedfaye] Alaera helped pull her up. She had been a bit frightened for her friend, but luckily nothing horrible had happened. She remembered the first time she had fallen into the river. "I'm glad you are ok. It shouldn't be much further now, we are almost to my tree." Keeping hold of Karma's hand to help guide her, she started to cross the rocks again. spookyx7 "Thanks." Karma said only a bit embarrassed. She held Alaera's hand to walk over the rocks and hopefully not slip again. She was already pretty wet. "Already?" [chainedfaye] Alaera nodded. "Yeah, not too far." The normally long walk had seemed to go by relatively quickly. She guess that is what happened when you weren't alone lost in your thoughts. She noticed how wet her friend was and walked over to Sylvestanya and unwrapped the extra blanket around her, and threw it over Karma's shoulders. The forest was much warmer since it was protected from the wind so Sylvestanya would be fine but if Karma didn't get dry, she would most certainly get sick. She bent down and picked the child back up. Thankfully, she only stirred slightly. spookyx7 "Thanks!" Karma said as she she took the blanket and warped it tightly around her shoulders. She hadn't realized how cold she had become. "Looks like she can sleep through anything." Karma said with a small giggle. [chainedfaye] Alaera looked down at the small drooling child in her arms and laughed as well. "Yeah I guess she can. 'Course we did play quite a bit today and it's waaay past her bedtime. She looks like such a little angel right now. Be thankful you didn't meet her when she was more awake" Alaera grinned. spookyx7 Karma laughed, "Oh she can't be that bad. Nothing that sweet could ever be anything but." Karma looked down at the child and couldn't help but smile. Karma didn't know a nicer site. [chainedfaye] Alaera smiled back at Karma. "Well, when you have your own kids, try giving them something sweet and see how much of a handful you have then." She laughed too. "Though, Sally and I do kinda spoil her I suppose." Alaera held back a tree branch blocking the path and waited for Karma to pass. spookyx7 "Ok." She giggled, but didn't really know if kids would be in her future. Fate would have to make the decision on that one. Karma quickly walked through the path, "Are we there?" [chainedfaye] Alaera shifted Sylvestanya in her arms and looked around before answering. Sometimes in the dark, things looked all the same, even when you were as familiar with the area as she was.
Looking over at Karma she nodded. "Yeah almost. Just a few more trees. Would you like to stay the night? I mean its not much and yeah some people don't like to sleep in a tree, but I've made some improvements...." spookyx7 Karma looked around and then shook her head, she didn't want to take up all Alaera's hospitality. "No, that's ok. I can find somewhere to bed down. You don't have to worry about me."
She took the blanket off her shoulders and handed it to the other girl. "Thanks for the great night. It was wonderful meeting you. Maybe Fate with have us cross paths again one time." With that Karma started to walk away. [chainedfaye] Alaera took back the blanket, a sad look on her face. "Yeah it was great! And I'm sure we will run into each other again! Take care" she said as she waved goodbye to Karma. She watched until she walked out of sight, before turning to look down at the child in her arms. "If Fate won't bring us back together, then I most certainly will." I really do hope I run into Karma again. She was such a sweet girl and I have a funny feeling that she doesn't always realize where Fate is trying to lead her.

I grew into an adult today. It was really strange. Was fiddling around the tree while Amethyst took a nap and started to feel all tingly. It was a little bit scary at first, I didn't know what was going on. Then suddenly Whoosh! I must have gotten a lot taller cause I hit my head on a tree limb and almost fell out of the tree. It's not the first time I've done that though so I managed to get my balance back pretty quickly. I looked myself over, amazing at how I looked. My legs were so long, I couldn't believe it. And that's when I noticed my tail. I almost cried. All the color was gone out of it! I couldn't believe my eyes. I must have looked the fool trying to turn around and grab so I could get a better look. It was white! I didn't know what to do, so I grabbed Amethyst (who was not happy to be woken up from her nap) and high-tailed it over to Sally's. I thought she might know something.
Sally thinks maybe its a side effect of the growing and said to just give it time and it will come back naturally. I'm not sure though, what if it doesn't. It just seems so plain now. She was more interested in if I had met any boys yet. Jeez, what is with all this boy stuff. I don't get it, why would you want to be with a boy anyway?
I guess becoming an adult changes everything.

I went over to visit Sally and Sylvestanya today. Sylvestanya had grown again while I was away, she's a child now. I was rather excited, and spent the rest of the afternoon teaching her how to read and write. She's rather smart and picked things up fairly quickly. Once I told her she could go get her very own power now she got really excited and started demanding that we go that very minute. She kept asking me what it was like but I told her I didn't know, my power was given to me automatically when I turned into a child. Things are different now though. Sally asked me to take her since I knew my way around the island better, but I think she needs to get out some. She just stays in that garden all the time, almost like she's afraid to leave it. And she should get her own power as long as she is there.

Asrai came walking home today. That's right, walking. From what I can understand he ate some piece of fruit that made him grow and evidently when Naiads grow into a child they get this special necklace that allows them to walk above water with legs. He's really quite big now, I will have to spend some time making the puddle a bit bigger for him as well, or else he will never come home anymore. Not that I really mind that he spends so much time away, he needs to be with others of his own kind, but I kinda miss him around here sometimes.

March 17, 2007 St. Patrick's Day
I've been finding all sorts of strange looking gold coins everywhere these past few days: And then today as I found yet another one, a small little man came scurrying yelling at me, claiming I had stolen his gold. I had no idea what he was talking about and had to repeatedly tell him that I had been finding them all over the island and perhaps he should check his pockets for holes. After much convincing he finally did and much to his surprise found a rather large hole that all his gold had been leaking out of. He was really apologetic and offered to trade me some magical plushies for the coins I had found. I highly doubted that they were magical, but the golden coins where of no use to me anyway so I happily traded him. They really are rather cute looking:
Amethyst doesn't have any plushies and Sally has just the one so I think I will give them to them.

Ame came home today after being gone for a few days. I should have been worried that she was gone, I know, but I wasn't. She wanders off all the time, and nothing bad has ever happened to her before. Besides, I thin that even as a toddler, she's about to take good care of herself. She's a pretty tough little girl. Speaking of which, when she came home she was a child now. I can't believe how fast everyone keeps growing, and quite honestly I'm not really looking after them as well as I could be. Both Ame and Asrai are constantly going off on their own way. I guess I'm just starting to feel a little useless. I don't know what to do with myself anymore.

March 30, 2007Asrai must have drunk his power potion because he got a note today from the Guardians announcing it. I feel kinda bad that I was able to take him, I've never actually been to the potion master's hut. Mine just always worked for me from the moment I was born. Anyway its kinda a neat sounding power, Runegate. Means he can teleport using runes. He has to learn the runes though. I don't have anything else to do so I think I'll run over to the library to start looking up runes and help him with his studying of them when he gets back from where ever he is. I wonder what it feels like to teleport anyway?

immortalmina In front of the gates to the new city is, if someone knew him, Eclipse. Changes had come over him. His tattoos were gone, he had an evil smile and the staff that was normally tied around his arm was missing. The personality has changed as well. The normally soft spoken, shy and nervous fae was now loud, active and happy. He put up his hand and something happened. The moon somewhere was being eclipsed. It wouldn’t be as noticeable as the sun unless it were night, which it isn't. The darkness of Eclipse's uncontrollable power swirled around him. It was a disadvantage if someone were looking for him, however once in the darkness he would have the upper hand. Apocalypse couldn't hear Eclipse's mate. Let me go. Eclipse said inside Apocalypse's head. "Oh, please my friend. I finally get free and you want out? I don't think it will be that easy." He wondered where he should go? He wanted to play some tricks or something. Being free was was too great. "Let's see where to go. The beach, HQ or Houses of Healing. Hummm... all are nice and full of Pae and little tiny fairies." Apocalypse chuckled as he began to walk. He made his way over the bridge that was over the Kippu River and was heading towards the Houses of Healing. Not them! "Hush, boy!"Apocalpyse neared the Houses of Healing. "Here fairy fairy fairy!" He called in a low dark tone. He hoped to pull a few of their wings off like a bug. That would be fun. You can't. Please stop. Eclipse cried in his mind. To shut him up Apocalypse stopped the eclipse on the moon and started one on the sun. "This will get them to notice."[chainedfaye] Alaera scurried along past Chai'en beach, on her way to the Faerie healing house, muttering to herself. She couldn't believe she hadn't thought of it before! Of course the faeries there would be able to tell her what was wrong with her tail and hopefully maybe even fix it. She just hoped that it wasn't anything serious. So lost in her thoughts, the young woman didn't even notice that she had accidentally breezed right by her destination. And she might not have noticed had it not been for the huge wall of black she suddenly ran into (it was rather difficult to watch where you were going when you were looking back at your tail). Startled, she stepped back, and finally looked at what she had run into - a male black fae. She had a knack for meeting new people this way.
"Oh, hello there!" She cheerfully greeted him. immortalmina Apocalypse looked to see a demon girl. He saw her before she saw him. This make him smile a devilish grin. No, I don't even know her. Eclipse called in his mind. "Would it be better if you did?" This made Apocalypse laugh more. " Well, hello there. What evil delight would you like?" He asked her with his evil red eyes. It was as dark as pitch. Just the way he liked it. [chainedfaye] "Evil delight??" Alaera repeated blankly before a shudder went through her body. Shortly after setting her eyes on this new pae, he disappeared into the darkness. And now to hear a creepy and evil sounding voice float through the air...well it was unnerving to say the least. Goosebumps ran up and down her arms. Something seemed wrong about this guy. She called on her power to let her glow up some to take a better look at him. immortalmina Apocalypse watched her. "Only Eclipse's son's light works in my darkness." He didn't say his son, as Apollo's wasn't Apocalpyse's son. "What is your name girl? I'd love to make you scream!" he laughed louder as he moved away and back to her. Let her be![chainedfaye] Alaera's dismay grew when the light from her power was sucked away. What the?? That had never happened before! She poured more of her energy into it hoping that it would somehow overcome whatever was draining her light...and her strength. She angrily put her hands on her hips and looked about wildly trying to figure out exactly where he was. "I am not a girl! And if I ever find you, you're the one that's gonna be screaming buster!" But her threat sounded hollow even to herself. She already felt weak and she hadn't even been using her power that long. Alaera finally stopped feeding her energy into it. "How...how are you doing that?" she asked tentatively. immortalmina Apocalypse smiled as he liked that. Oh yes, very much. "Make me scream? Ah, but you don't know I may like it." He chuckled again it sounded cold and almost frozen. He could tell she was spending alot of energy on her power. He shook his head as that wasn't smart. "How? Well, that is a question for the ages." Even he didn't know it worked or how to control it. Apollo stood at the edge of the darkness. He could hear the voice. It shot through him and stopped him dead. Still his light could be seen as it wasn't sucked away."Oh, the son is here!" NO!sailornorthstar Stitch who had been in the house of healing to get one of his ears bandaged up walked out side and to his surprise saw the darkness. "Daddy," he said running over to were the darkness was darkest. "Dad are you here?" Stitch asked his wings were now open. He blinked his black eyes as he saw Alaera "You ok?" immortalmina Apocalypse saw the other "son" or so called by Eclipse and Coronus. "Dad? I am not him and even he isn't!" That meant to hurt even if it wasn't true. I am too!Apocalypse moved closed to the demon female and tried to scratch her shoulder. "Ooh, nice.""Stitch! Get out he isn't Dad right now!" Apollo called as he heard his brother's voice.[chainedfaye] Alaera was sure her mouth dropped open. He might like it? What kind of pae was this guy? She had never met anyone like him. She had no idea what to responded but thankfully his attention was diverted as a new pae entered the area. His light somehow wasn't absorbed though and Alaera was relieved to be able to see again.
She turned hearing a voice and discovered a rather strange looking teen nearby. She took a step closer to him. "I'm fine, but I don't think this is a safe place for you to be right now...maybe you should run home." immortalmina Apocalypse had missed. He moved away into the darkness again. Apollo was making this less fun. "Yes, take your brother away!" He hissed. He wanted to hurt someone and the "girl" was the most fun. Though, he would love to hurt the kids of Eclipse just the light was in his way. No stay, Apollo your light bothers him.sailornorthstar Stitch looked at his brother and then crouched down on all fours. "I am not a kid I am an alien." He laughed then started to sniff the ground around him before looking up at Apocalypse. "You smell like daddy meaning you must be him" he started to speak in Alien as he went thought some calculations in his mind. [chainedfaye] Alaera blinked and straightened up, before looking back and forth between the teen next to her and the light male. Dad? Her gaze drifted back to the dark one. He didn't really seem to have the father vibe. She scratched her head. And how could someone not be Dad right now? She called out hesitantly..."Umm I don't mean to intrude but is there something wrong with him?" immortalmina Apollo stood next to Stitch and the female. "My father has a evil person inside of him. Without his staff and tattoos he is free." Apollo whispered to demon.Apocalypse chuckled. " Who says I'm the evil inside Eclipse? What if he is the good inside of me?" He knew what he was and it made more sense. I mean he didn't need a staff and tattoos. He was the real one. Apocalypse made the eclipse stop for now. His attention was elsewhere. Maybe later. [chainedfaye] Alaera nodded in understanding...she thought something was wrong with him. But what he said made some sense too. This was confusing...and complicated. She wasn't sure she should get involved, but then it was a little late for that. She didn't know who to believe, but the yellow guy made a better argument. She sighed and thought to herself 'curse my curiosity.'
Alaera whispered back to him "Shouldn't you go get his staff and give it back to him then?" immortalmina Apollo looked to her and shook his head. "I wanted to check on him first. Dayht is looking. I guess I should help her. You want to come?" He meant that for both the demon and Stitch. He wasn't really sure leaving was a good idea. Without his light they'd be in darkness again. He glowed softly. "I can make you an orb if I leave."Apocalypse just watched them. "Ahh, but if you all leave who will I play with? The fairies? Their wings do look ripable." He chuckled as he walked in the darkness. He was waiting for the light to leave. [chainedfaye] Alaera was about to agree to leave and help look for it when she heard the dark pae's comment. Oh no the poor faeries! She couldn't just leave and let him do that to them. She shook her head resolutely.
"No, I think someone should stay and keep an eye on him. Who knows what he would do otherwise. Besides, he was still your father when he lost the staff so wouldn't you be able to find it easier? I mean you would know where he would visit around the island better than I would" She blushed slightly, a faint glow coloring her skin, as she mumbled in embarrassment "and I'm kinda clumsy." She could just image finding the staff and then end up tripping and breaking it in half. sailornorthstar "Me watch daddy, he can not hide from me I know his smell" he said with a smile pointing at his blue nose. "And I can hear him with my ears." Stitch did not seem scared about the entire situation. He was just happy his father was not in the water.
immortalmina "Are you both sure? Okay." Apollo made two round orbs. He held them out. One for Stitch and one for the demon girl. "I'll be back soon." Apollo frowned as he looked toward his father. After a moment he ran off to find Dayht taking his glowing light with him. However the orbs light stayed.Apocalypse waiting until the light was gone. Sure the orbs were there, but they weren't much light. "Ah, that is much better. Silly boy." He wondered if they would find the staff? Should he try and stop them? "They can find it doesn't mean I'll take it. Now what shall we play?" Eclipse was becoming weaker and weaker now not able to say much. [chainedfaye] Alaera took the orb and watched as he ran off. She had regained some of her energy back while they were talking but she still felt a bit drained and rather relieved that she wasn't back in the dark. She'd never really gotten used to it, always having her own light source within her.
She put her hand on her hip again and shot him the look. "You'll take the staff when they bring it back whether you like it or not, Mister!" she chastised him boldly, after all it always seemed to work with Sylvestanya. But she hadn't thought that he would have to be forced to hold the staff again, but of course that would make sense, why would he want it back after all. They would just have to trick him into it.
"You want to play huh? Alright let's play 'I spy'" He would have to come closer to the light orbs if he wanted to see anything in this pitch black darkness. immortalmina Apocalypse looked at the girl for a moment. "What kind of game is that? If you lose do I get to ripe off your wings?" He then looked around. How would she see in his darkness? He was the one with night vision...or at least vision in his darkness. "Nah, I think let's play find me. That will be fun... Just try and touch me and I'll try to touch you." He chuckled and walked slowly to the left behind her. sailornorthstar Stitch looked at his father. He took the glowing ball in to his hand he had seen one like this before on his dads staff. "Lets play a game of you stay here and you do not leave." Stitch smiled. Teigra Something was not right on Telrunya.
Even before the eclipse began, the feral demon Pae could sense something amiss on the wind. Snarling, Kane continued bounding swiftly through the forest, towards the growing source of darkness. Even after the darkness began to recede, he only increased his speed. Something wasn't right; his instincts were practically screaming at him. Even without his enhanced abilities, it was obvious that something serious was happening on the isle.
Nearly flying over the ground now on all-fours, the feral feline Pae neared what looked like...a swirling...darkness? It was darkness personified, whatever it was and even Kane was at a loss as to how to describe it. Of course, he wasn't here to describe it. Growling softly, he began circling the darkness, staking out the area and trying to understand the situation before leaping in unprepared. Sniffing the air, he detected at least two...no, three other Pae'il. immortalmina Apocalypse saw another Pae leap into his darkness. Well, well he was attracting attention. More then Eclipse ever did. This made him chuckle slightly as he waiting for the demon girl's response. "Ah, I'll stay here." He agreed to Stitch. That was fine he had found playmates anyway. [chainedfaye] Alaera shivered yet again at the tone underlying his words and unconsciously folded her wings together protectively behind her. "No you can't rip my wings off!" she exclaimed in a high pitched squeak. She rather liked her wings right where they were.
So he wasn't gonna fall for her trick game huh? She had to admit she liked the teen's idea better and was relieved to hear he agreed to it...but why would he do such a thing? Alaera didn't trust him one bit...he was up to something. His laughter floated to her from a different spot than before and she whirled around, stepping away from the pae by her side, to where she thought it was coming from. The idea of having no clue where he was hiding in his darkness frightened and she certainly didn't want him to have easy access to her wings. In the process though, she suddenly tripped over something unseen on the ground and fell down, dropping the ball of light she was holding. She watched in despair as it rolled away from her leaving her in the darkness. Alaera cursed under her breath "damn my clumsiness." immortalmina Apocalypse was watching both for a mistake like this one. He made sure not to laugh or make any noise as he closed in behind the female demon. He moved out his arms and tried to grab her mouth to keep her quiet with one and the other around her waist. "Ssshhh..." He whispered in her ear with a devilish smile. Teigra Kane didn't need his instincts to tell him that this strange Pae was potentially more dangerous than anything he'd run across thus far in Dragnid Forest. It was annoying how he kept disappearing into the shadows just to reappear somewhere else, but he wasn't actually teleporting, it seemed. Just blending in. Fortunately, Kane didn't depend on his eyes like many Pae'il.
Snarling, he crouched on all-fours and bared his sharp, lengthened canines. "I could be mistaken," he growled, voice harsh from misuse, "But I'm pretty sure this young lady doesn't want to 'play' with you." Bounding forward, he snatched up the rolling light orb with one hand and tossed it towards an odd-looking blue male Pae nearby with a swift sure movement, still heading towards the other pair. Tensing his muscles, he flared his wings as he leapt, sailing through the air towards the dark male with claws extended. [chainedfaye] Alaera stiffened as she felt an arm wrap around her waist and pull her towards him and another come around her neck to cover her mouth with his hands. The whisper in her ear sent tremors of fear down her body and her breath caught in her throat. Her first instinct was to bit his hand but that would only piss him and make him even more dangerous. "No, evil and dangerous was bad enough, not a good idea throw in pissed off" she mentally cautioned herself. She was sure her body radiated her fear but was determined not to show it to him, and so she stood as still as earthly possible, hoping that someone would miraculously return with that staff in the next few moments.
Instead, she heard a new, raspy voice break through darkness. A male by the sounds of it...and it sounded like he intended on coming to her rescue. 'Oh dear guardians please don't let him do anything stupid!' Alaera silently prayed. She didn't know if her conscious could handle the guilt of someone else's injury. immortalmina Apocalypse heard the other voice as well and saw the other pae hit the orb away. That was helpful. "I don't know..." Apocalypse said as he licked her cheek. " She's standing here in my arms not yours." He then tried to drag her away. This new guy could ruin his fun. Teigra Kane missed the other male, landing on all-fours and skidding to a stop, spinning to keep his senses trained on his opponent. Perhaps leaping for the pair hadn't been the best idea, what with the other male holding the young female like that...but what did Kane care? 'S not like he knew her or cared or anything.
Growling, he circled the pair warily. "I didn't say I wanted her, smartass. I just don't think I like your attitude. Or anything about you for that matter. How about you let the little girl go. I'm sure we could have a lot more fun. How about it? Wanna' 'play' with me?" Kane smirked, continuing to taunt the dark Pae and flashing his fangs. It hadn't escaped his notice that this particular Pae'il was one of those...things as well. Stupid Fae things. Though, in this case, that just made the promise of a fight all the sweeter. [chainedfaye] Alaera's instinct to get away from him rose as she was licked on the cheek. Eww...Disgusting. He was really starting to creep her out. She started to struggle against his hold, fighting to get away from him.
And then she heard the other's words. Little girl? She stopped moving and bristled with indignation as her anger rose. That was enough! She opened her mouth underneath his hand, searched out the closest finger and bit down as hard as she could while stomping on his foot with her heel.
"I am not a little girl damnit!" immortalmina Apocalpyse let her go as she bit and stomped. He went back into his darkness. He might have been a little hurt but he wouldn't show it. He just shook his head. He liked the girl, yes he still thought girl, more then the cocky demon. "You don't look like fun. So, ta." With that he began to move away from the Houses of Healing and head for the Aura Nin mountains. Teigra Kane stiffled the urge to smirk as he shot the girl a glance. She had spunk, he'd give her that. And a mouth on her, it seemed. That earned her a few points at least. The feral Pae had more important things to deal with right now though...
"I'm not done with you yet, pretty boy," he snarled, flaring his wings with a leathery flutter and bounding after the Fae. "Whiny little pansy...gonna' talk all tough and run when a real challenge arises? Maybe I'm no fun," Kane chuckled darkly. It was a harsh and menacing sound, accompanied by a dangerous glint in his eyes. "But I'm sure I could have some fun with you..." [chainedfaye] Relief flooded Alaera as she felt herself being released. She'd never felt so dirty before in her life. After her initial anger of being treated like a little girl had faded, she was filled with dread.
Oh no! He couldn't leave, they were supposed to be keeping an eye on him! What had she done! She swirled back around and reached her arms out, blindly searching for him. "No no no, you can't leave" she shouted into the darkness. "Please stop him and bring him back" she cried out in desperation to the unseen pae with the raspy voice. Teigra Was he...?
He was!
The damned Fae was actually ignoring him! "GET YOUR PANSY a** BACK HERE, YOU COWARD!" The order practically roared from Kane's throat as he closed in on the dark male. Wings flared from instincts born from hunting and intimidating other predators in Dragnid, he bounded forward with supernatural speed. A feral snarl on his lips, he leapt into the air with claws outstretched, aiming for the Fae's back.
Take your prey down quickly and efficiently. Less struggle, less hassle. Immediate results. immortalmina Apocalypse looked back at the demon. "Ooohh you know I like it dirty." He chuckled. Then the guy leap at him. Kane was able to catch a bit of Apocalypse's back but didn't knock him over. He felt his back and looked to the blood. "Ooh and rough." With that he chuckled more and went into his darkness. Teigra He'd...missed.
He'd actually missed!
This never happened before! Kane was in such shock, that he'd actually let the pest get away from him. Shaking off his surprise, he remained on all-fours for a moment. He had no idea what'd happened to the female from earlier, but he didn't particularly care. She was no threat to him and his fury was concentrated on one particularly annoying Fae at the moment. Now, where had that male gone?
Crouching low, Kane sniffed the ground, searching for the male's irritating scent. He'd track that pest to the ends of Telrunya if he had to. And this time, he wouldn't miss.
There it was! That scent! He paused, sniffing the bit of blood on his claws, then the ground again. Yes, same scent. The hunt was on once more. Following the fading trail, Kane stalked off in the direction of the HQ, though he'd never been there himself. I think I must have just stood there in shock for awhile because I suddenly noticed that I was alone. "Screw this" I remember saying out loud and turning around and heading home. The was whole thing was insane and I didn't want anymore to do with it. It had been an interesting enough afternoon already.

April 24, 2007
I have been feeling so strange lately. Emotions that I don't understand and have never felt before are building up inside me. I've been spending most of my days alone lately it seems. Asrai no longer wants to study his runes, not that I'm ever sure he did in the first place and spends most of his time trying to sneak away or practicing his teleporting. Ame disappears constantly, to where I don't know. Sylve has taken to wandering the forest at night and sleeping during the day for the most part. And Sally is content in her garden. There seems to be no need for me, some caretaker that I turned out to be. I feel alone but am happy to be alone, it appears. And so I too have taken to wandering around the island, hiding from other the pae around.
I am not quite sure what started this change in me but I think it has something to do with that male fae I met the other day. His aura seemed so dark, darker than anything I have ever known. I can't seem to get out of my head the helplessness I felt at his touch, the way my knees trembled in fear. It was all rather exciting, though I am glad it is over. And the indignation and rage I felt seemed to break open the dam of emotions that I am now experiencing. It's all so very confusing. I need time, time to think.
