Written in a careful yet still childlike hand complete with spelling mistakes and crossed out words (which she'd certainly kill herself for later):
Dear journal,
I saw Armel today and he's so pretty. He got bigger. We went to the park and talked about how he thinks I'm a gypsy queen 'n' that it's better than princesses. I asked him to be my king someday because he's my prince and he said he would be if nobody else was. We tried to do the monkey bars but I couldn't and he had to save me. He even gave me my first kiss on the cheek! Like the movies 'n' everything. He promised he'd always be in my heart, too. He's my best friend.
I think he'll make a good king.
He carried me home, though, 'Cause I was too tired and I fell asleep.
Sorry for the writing. I'm still learning.
Khali

The peaceful chariot of night had come, taking the color of the sun far from the sky and leaving the world cloaked in the serenity of darkness. The celestial gypsy lay in her canopied bed, curled up around her star plushie and sleeping as though there was nothing wrong in the world. Such an innocent child.
Flashes of color began to swirl around in the child's head, her fingers twitching a bit, digging further into the soft silk of the blue plushie in her arms and a whimper passed through her lips. The dream that was forming was anything but scary - but perhaps it was the fact that it was more of a flashback than a dream had something to do with it. Unearthing memories long locked away was never an easy thing.
Swirling skirts, laughing - the night sky. Bright flashes of color as stars appeared where there was none before, and darkness where others were taken away. A magnificent caravan pulled by horses that were more beautiful than anything she'd ever seen came into view. Wings the color of night and day, horns glittering in the starlight. One, obsidian with the night sky encased and the other a startling pearl with a rainbow sheen. Majestic creatures which took the child's breath away, even in her sleep.
She felt as if she knew everything at once, yet nothing at all, and her head swam with the images. Dancing, the tinkling music - words that were foreign to her but felt right at the same time. As if they belonged to her, settling in her heart.
Just as soon as the images appeared, they faded and Khalindra's eyes brimmed with tears in her sleep. The beautiful, safe feeling of home had disappeared along with it.

//Armel & Khali
There were guests to arrive soon, and today the weather wasn't too cold. It was at least mild enough for Armel to sit outside in the front yard on a blanket with his youngest sibling, Kaveri. He was quietly dangling a soft plush in front of her face which caused her to reach for it and softly giggle when he wiggled the fuzzy plush up against her nose causing her to lightly sneeze afterward when he pulled it away.
This was one of the few times Kaveri could 'wiggle' free of the baby blankets and not have to worry about a fainting or squirmish Tyr being near by. Armel had offered to wait for the guests outside with Kaveri so that the babe could taste some freedom and Tyr could find a way to relax for a few. Pales was somewhat reluctant to let the baby out of her sight but she was just as worried about her mate's well being and thus allowed it.
Besides it had been a while since the pair had spent a few moments of peace together.
"When Khalindra and her Da get here they'll be happy to meet ye, I am sure." Armel said to his sibling as he moved the toy toward her face again. Kaveri giggled and cooed softly her tiny hands finally grasping the toy and playfully wrenching it from her older brother's grasp.
"Khali, remember - the box has holes in it for a reason." Aiden reminded his daughter as they made their way down the street and up to the house. Khalindra was bundled in a new snow parka, though she wasn't very happy about it. Her hair was curled and framing her face beneath the furred hood and she looked, in her opinion, like a very pretty eskimo. Emi couldn't look better than her!
"I KNOW daddy," Khalindra said tiredly. The giant red and green box was shaking slightly in her arms and it looked about half her size, too, "MEL!"
The Tale broke out into a giant grin as she ran toward him as fast as her legs and the box in her arms would allow her, leaving her father in the dust.
The boy looked up from his sister as he heard a familiar voice and he, too, grinned openly as he waved to her and began to stand up while scooping up his sister before she gets trampled and forgotten. He surely wouldn't hear the end of it if she would get hurt, "Khali!" He called back to her happily.
The naga-babe looked over her shoulder toward the running form with wide curious eyes her tiny hands reaching up and grasping one of Armel's braids just to hold on to something since she was forced to drop her toy upon being scooped up. Kaveri peered a bit past the running girl with a box toward the man that was still simply walking up and then looked at her brother with a faint expression of confusion.
Armel sensed the gaze and murmured to her, "They are friends; they are coming to visit us today." He doubted his sister understood what he just said but still he used a friendly soothing voice and that seemed to make it okay for her as she broke into a smile of her own mirroring the one big brother wore.
The box was placed on the ground and Khalindra stopped herself from jumping up and hugging him considering he had one of the slobber machines in his arms. "Who's that?" she asked with a tilt of her head.
Her hand lifted and she pointed towards Kaveri. She had to admit, though, that the baby was kind of cute even if it had no legs and was instead looking like a snake. Better question would be what WAS that, but...she figured that would be rude.
Armel approached Khali a bit more and smiled a bit, "Her name is Kaveri, she's m'sister now," he offered to Khalindra by way of introduction, "She's uhh a nag..na...Naga or somethin' of the like I think." He turned his sibling toward his friend and murmured beside her ear as he held her, "Kaveri that is my friend Khalindra, and behind her is her Da, Dr. Perry."
The baby only stared at Khalindra with wide eyes. Her tiny hands reached out to the girl quiet obviously enamored by the small girl's appearance. She was so sparkly and shiny. The baby naga had never seen anything spectacular in her short life! She softly uttered a low "Oooh," sound.
Armel grinned a bit, "I think she likes ye, Khali!" he didn't seem to mind having a younger sibling, but then again he felt partially responsible for the naga for reasons he couldn't quite place. "M'Da is inside an' stuff, and" he glanced toward the package, "what's that?" he held his sibling toward him again leaving the baby to have to peer over her shoulder at Khali.
Khalindra smiled at the little one, "Nice to meet you." She didn't like babies, for the most part, but she seemed enamored by her, with good cause. Apparently, the child had good taste and that would be good enough for her.
Aiden laughed, "Not quite a doctor yet," he answered, "A few more months and I will be...Uh, Armel, where's your dad? I kind of need to talk to him, if it's not a problem to do so." He never let his easy-going expression faulter, though.
Khali looked back at her author and pursed her lips. Something wasn't right, and she knew it, but he wouldn't tell her what was going on. Her attention was drawn away, though, at Armel's question and she beamed.
"Your christmas present!"
Armel grinned a bit at Aiden, "Close, 'nough f'me." He retorted and then seemed to think for a moment, "I think he's inside and uhh," he bit his lip a little glancing to Khali and then up at Aiden again, "He's kind of not himself." The boy cleared his throat, "I guess I should say herself...Not sure what happened but..." There was a shift to the shoulders in form of a shrug. The boy wasn't sure how to explain it. He was used to strange things happening.
Kaveri peered at Aiden quietly and then leaned her head quietly against her brother's shoulder closing her eyes a bit as the tip of her tail twitched back and forth idly. All these people and interactions were making the baby feel quite sleepy. Her eyes closed a bit and she began to doze off while her hand reached up again to grasp one of her brother's braids.
"My christmas present?" he tilted his head and then blushed, "Ye didnae have ta," he murmured modestly, "I didn't even get ye anythin' yet." Armel glanced down at his sibling and then at Khali, "Let's go inside so I can lay Kaveri down for a bit and you can come see my room."
Aiden nodded, "Thank you for the warning." He went inside and looked around quietly, "Pales? Mr. D'Arcy?"
Khali nodded, "I wanted to, though. But let's go inside. It's a bit cold out here...Uh, Lemme pick this thing up again! It's kind of heavy." The young tale struggled to pick the box up, but managed after a moment or two and then beamed once again, "I don't need anything at all, by the way. I'm just glad to have you as a friend!"
Pales peeked around the corner from the living room. She blinked and stepped forward and nodded her head and smiled lightly, "Aiden, glad to see you made it. My mate is currently napping would you like to sit in the kitchen for some coffee or something? It'll be good to talk with you again." Though now feminized Pales was trying to pretend that nothing was wrong at all. After all she was still he...Was she not? "You seem to have something on your mind." She gestured toward the kitchen.
Armel nodded a bit and almost moved to help but found that the baby in his arms made helping not an option for the moment. Instead he watched her carefully before leading her indoors, "This way, then." They moved then through a hallway and toward his bedroom where the door was cracked slightly open. The room was fairly clean, but there were a few books scattered about and a small baby bed near the child-sized bed. He moved to the baby-bed and laid Kaveri in it and then looked back to make sure Khali was managing alright.
Aiden smiled at Pales, not seeming to be too phased with the fact that he was now a she. After all, weird things happened in Gaia all the time. How many other places had babies popping out of books and necklaces? It was just the way things were. "Sure, coffee sounds good. Yeah, I have a few things on my mind." More than a few things, honestly. And now that Khalindra wasn't in his line of sight, the tired look was able to show itself on his face. He moved to the kitchen quietly.
Khalindra followed her friend and as soon as they were in the room set the gift down once more, "Weeeeeelll? Open it!" The parka was removed, revealing a red and green outfit that made her look more like a christmas gypsy.
It was made of deep colored cloth, at least. Khali wasn't fond of light colors.
A flicker of concern crossed the young woman's face but she said nothing of it as she moved into the kitchen, "Have a seat and relax, the coffee'll be done in a moment." She announced as Pales went about setting up the machine that made the coffee and getting the cups out along with the sugar and creamers from the cupboard, "Want some cookies or something as well?" It didn't hurt to offer, after all. The coffee was busily brewing away now, filling the room with a nice comforting aroma.
Armel covered Kaveri with some blankets before moving toward his friend and the present she had brought him, "T's not even Christmas yet," he laughed lightly, "but who knows when ye get t'visit me again, right?" he smiled a little as he knelt by the box and began to open the present. Despite his hesitant behavior he was obviously excited to receive a gift from his friend. Armel was going to buy her something as well. It didn't feel right to get something and not give something in return. Besides he hadn't gotten Khali a gift yet.
Aiden sat down quietly and before he knew what he was doing, he was spilling what happened. "Six children, three bedroom apartment, lover who doesn't like children and is a fairly successful doctor," he murmured, "I say we need a bigger house, he basically thinks I'm in it for the money...I..." His head hit the table.
He'd been living in a shack when Alex had found him. He didn't care about the god damn money. "I've got nowhere to go, I refuse to stay there with him after that. I've already started packing, he's not even home. God knows where he is now."
Khalindra grinned as he went towards the present and when he began to open it, a small yip could be heard. A few moments later the box jumped and a small Tyuri jumped from it, looking up at the boy with wide, orange eyes.
"She reminded me of you."
The coffee was soon finished. Pales waited to speak as she poured some coffee into two cups. She brought the cups to the table where Aiden sat setting a cup before the man and then one where she was to sit near by. Before sitting down she went and got the creamer and sugar along with some spoons and went to sit down. She pushed a spoon gently toward Aiden as her lips pursed a bit as she thought about how to respond as the man finished, "That was terrible of him to say," She murmured softly, "I don't blame you for wanting to leave. Goodness knows I would have."
Pales began to put two spoonfuls of creamer into her coffee followed by a couple of spoonfuls of sugar as she continued, "You can stay with us for a bit, I even know where there is some land for sale, maybe you can have a house built?" there was a small pause and then a small chuckle, "I should check with my mate first, but I am sure she will understand when she hears your situation." The young woman finished stirring her drink and then asked, "Forgive my asking, but what species are you? You're human, right? Don't take this as an insult, but maybe Tyr'll be glad to have someone normal around the house."
Armel blinked at the yip and then smiled at the Tyuri that leapt out soon after. He tilt his head at it as he reached out his hand to allow the creature to sniff it, "She is wonderful," he replied obviously delighted with the creature, "Beautiful markings on 'er, too." He looked up at Khalindra and grinned, "Thank ye very much!" the boy truly appreciated his friend's gift. He paused a moment, "Doesn't have a name yet, does she?"
Aiden took his cup and drank it quietly, straight and black. He needed something strong and sweet didn't necessarily work there. "I don't think I'd like to impose with six children," Aiden answered quietly, "I just needed to talk to someone. Maybe I'll try my parents - but they disowned me quite some time ago. Lab accident in med school, I got kicked out. Hell, my kids mean more than my pride."
A long pause as he listened to Pales speak, "Yes, I'm completely human."
"I'm so glad you like her!" Khali exclaimed excitedly, "And no, she doesn't have a name. She's just a sweetheart though!"
Pales nodded a bit running her fingertips over the rim of her coffee cup thoughtfully and then smiled lightly, "Well a place to stay is always open for you. I know you probably wouldn't like staying here for long. It is always so odd around here." She closed her eyes a moment, "I can build houses myself. It is something I learned to do while I was traveling. A man took me under his wing and taught me all he knew. I can offer you my services. I only require that the supplies would be paid for and of course that you have a place I can build. If I need help...Well that's what Armel is for." She grinned lightly. Pales was trying to be humorous.
The young woman only nodded as Aiden confirmed that he was indeed human, "That's a plus on your card I guess. My mate is not from Gaia, he is still adjusting."
Armel grinned and nodded a bit, "She is wonderful. I don't like her I love her." He smiled happily as he pet the Tyuri behind the ears gently, "I dunno what t'name her just yet. Mmmm, how 'bout Fyre?" he blushed a bit, "Not the greatest name I guess, but it seems suitable. I'm horrible with names."
Aiden thought quietly, wondering how he'd get the money. It had to be expensive, right? He came to a conclusion, then and there, that he would do the only thing he could think of that didn't involve going to his parents to get the money. He'd leave Med school and get the remainder of his tuition back to be able to pay off the things needed. "Thank you, Pales. I would appreciate it very much. I'm sure I can get the money, and what I can't get well...I'll find some way to get it. Until then, if you wouldn't mind and it wouldn't be a burden, I think it would be a good thing to stay here. I can't stay with him."
After all, being with Aaron did teach him somethings.
Khalindra leaned in and pet the furry creature, "Fyre's a nice name for her," she agreed, "I'm glad you love her. I was trying to find the perfect gift for you and I figured something to love you back would be the perfect choice."
She nodded quietly and then seemed thoughtful as she answered back, "Well, I might be able to get some of the supplies for free or at a discount. I'll have a look around and see, you may of course join me. I don't think they'd take me too seriously in my current state..." Pales smirked a bit and shrugged, "A lot of men in this business are quite sexist and it's hard to explain why I am not as I seem," she chuckled as she finally lifted her cup to take a drink from her coffee, "I suppose I could bully them."
Then again it wasn't in Pales' nature to bully anyone.
He, also, pet the creature lightly scratching below the chin, "I really do love her," he replied and then added, "Yer friendship is the only gift I ever need, Khali, but I am grateful that you got Fyre for me as well. I'll take real good care o' 'er." Armel seemed to be quite humble indeed.
Armel glanced about his room allowing the furry creature to now take a moment to explore her new home, "What ye want t'do? I got some games we can play if'n ye want."
"Or you can ******** with their heads and make them feel bad that a female knows more about construction than they do?" He offered, a gleam in his eyes. Aiden wasn't generally one to do things like that, but hey, he was starting over in a way right? Why not make fun of the situation. After all, it wasn't as though he could afford to be depressed. Khali had been becoming more and more direct and observant. It wouldn't do.
Khalindra flushed with pleasure, "All I need is your friendship, too, Armel. And I know you'll take good care of Fyre." A pause, "What kind of games? Board games?"
Pales giggled lightly and nodded, "I could do that as well. Either way you are welcome to join me. I know most people like to have a hand in what is used to make their home, and that way you can best assess the cost needed to build what best suits your needs." She nodded lightly.
"Do you know where you would like to build or have anything in mind as far as design?" The woman inquired with a small tilt to her head, "I am not too good with actually designing the layout and such of a house. I just follow the plans." Pales chuckled lightly.
Armel nodded a bit, "Aye, board games. We can also read books, or I think I can find some colorin' books. Most games that don't require boards are cards are funner wi' more people." He glanced at the sleeping Kaveri, "An' she ain't old 'nough to play wi' us just yet."
Aiden shook his head, "No, but I'm sure an online search could come up with public plans. I don't need anything fancy, I simply need something that'll hold seven people comfortably." He really didn't plan on getting anymore kids, but then again, he hadn't planned on the six he had either.
"We can play a board game. I love reading, but it seems all I do lately." She smiled at her friend and brushed some of the golden hair from her face, "I met Adonis! I don't know if I told you or not." Khali couldn't quite remember.
She nodded a bit, "Indeed. Comfort is a high priority as well as privacy some day. Considering the little ones grow up and seem to want more and more of it after a while," Pales laughed lightly as she glanced up at the clock and pursed her lips for a moment, "Do you and Khalindra want to join us for dinner this evening? It's getting close for me to start the meal if it is to get done on time."
Armel nodded once and headed toward a toy box but suddenly paused at the name of Adonis and glanced over at Khali with a broad grin, "Dun' believe ye told me," he couldn't recall but still it was hard to hide the joy simply the name of his best friend seemed to fill him with he turned to Khalindra again, "He is one o' m'best friends. I'd trust 'im wi' my life." He nodded once, "Me an' 'im are goin' to do somethin' great one day." There was another pause as his grin went into a fond smile as he still looked at Khalindra, "An' I think I could trust ye wi' my life as well. You and Viddy as well, cos' Vidya is m'cousin. Would be silly not t'trust her."
"Sure. I could help you. I'm..fair in the kitchen. I don't burn water like Alex does, at least." He laughed softly, "So generally, it's take out or burnt food at our house. What's for dinner tonight?"
"Yeah, he told me he wanted to do something like that. He was reading about..Na...na....I can't remember his name, but it was big and he was French and tried to take over the world." A firm nod from the Tale as she made her way over to Armel. "I gave him one of my stars and he put it with his around his wrist so he'll always have a part of me! Isn't that cool?" She giggled, "Maybe when you guys take over the world I could be the queen! Or...something. And I trust you with my life, so you can trust me with yours. I won't break it. Honest."
Looking thoughtful for a moment before shrugging, "Guest's choice this evening," Pales offered with a smile, "we aren't too picky about what we eat around here." The woman explained with a nod. "I have gotten better with cooking as I went along. It sort of became important after Armel and Toki came along..."
Armel chuckled and nodded, "Oh yeah? Adonis always knows the most interestin' stuff, really," he responded with a grin returning to his face, "Aye? I got one of his stars, and I have one o' yers. I am thinkin' about makin' them into a shirt pin or somethin'. So I can have ye both with me at all times." It was easy to see that Armel felt that his friends were most important to him, "When we take over th'world we'll see what happens." He laughed and then turned back toward the toy box, "I know ye won't, Khali. I won't break yers either."

Alex had left the door open, he'd been between the front lawn and the kitchen throughout the day, constantly going back and forth with a watering can.
The sun was delightful, and the scent of spring had really set in. The house was airy and blissfully clean. Deciding upon a break, he flicked the kettle on, raising a hand to wipe some sweat off his brow.
Aiden's life had, frankly, turned for the worse. Without medical school, he had no real direction in life and he was living with a friend with five children (Five now, as Emi had been taken away...His own fault, but it stung), and couldn't find a job anywhere.
He, however, was determined to show Alex he could get on just fine without him and had brushed his hair, put on a decent set of clothing, and set off.
"Alex?" Why was the door open? Alex NEVER left the door open. ******** hummed, his hand curving around the kettle as it clicked, indicating boiling temperature. He proceeded to pour, stir, and add milk.
Bringing it up to his lips, he slurped slowly. "Wha?!" Interrupted, the cup shook off his chin and flowed out the mug, flying all over his chest and scolding.
"Ow, ********, ********, ********, ********." He waddled around, patting down his chest area.
Aiden rushed in, armed with a nearby lamp to save the day and blinked when he saw Alex waddling around like a duck patting his chest.
"Alex, did you take too much medication today?"
Unsure whether to laugh or cry, the man rolled himself alongside the kitchen counter. "Ow, it's you." He was glad, having not seen him several months; he felt a great relief of happiness.
"s**t, come and help me will you?" He pulled away at his shirt, and stroked light, careful fingers over the scolded marks. Stinging, he cringed a bit. "This is your fault!!" Alex joked, propping his glasses up.
"Yeah, it's my fault you're a clumsy oaf all right." He grabbed a wash cloth and soaked it with cold water before gently placing it on the man's chest and setting the lamp down on the table.
"Better?" He would have made a really good doctor.
Edging off Aiden's hand from the wash cloth, he applied pressure, the cold water seeping against the burn marks. "Thanks." He muttered, feeling much more comfortable doing it himself; it didn't help his shirt was of though, standing between them. Embarassment persued.
"Yeah, that's great --- Aiden." He was at loss for what else to say. It'd been too long, too distant.
The uncomfortable silence dragged on for some time before Aiden coughed and brought a hand back to rub behind his neck. "So....."
When had things become so uncomfortable?
Alex turned away from him, re-running the tap and soaking up some more cold water. "So... why are you here?" He asked simply, resuming to gently wash away at his scolds.
"Just...wanted to see how you were doing." And show him that he was juuuust fine...Even though he wasn't. Aiden sat down at the table quietly.
...He'd missed him.
"Oh, I'm sorry I haven't kept in contact... I just thought, that things were better for you without me." Alex grinned somewhat, striding onto the chair beside Aiden. Grabbing his shirt on the way, he tossed in on again, almost as though he was 'hiding away' from Aiden, or scared to offend. Or maybe it was just uncomfortable.
"It's really... really... great to see you again."
Aiden shrugged, "Things have been just fine on this end. Looking for a job and trying to get a permit for the house to be built. If I get a job I may be able to get back into med school and if I do THAT.." He'd only had a few months left.
He decided not to mention Emi was gone.
"Are you still sure about that house?" He wondered, circling his finger around on the table. "I got my job back..." Alex seemed a little hopeless, things - seemed - hopeless. It'd been almost a year since they'd split. Yet the bitterness still seemed apparent.
"You know I don't like it like this." He whinged, folding his arms loosly.
Aiden sighed, "Yeah. I still have six kids, this place isn't big enough, and I'm not taking your money..." He frowned. That comment still stung, even though Alex had apologized. Aiden was prideful and, well, his pride had been hurt. It didn't help that he'd had to give his daughter up due to being unable to take care of her properly and the twin Aduthule were getting on his nerves with their constant bickering and - heaven forbid he try and get a moments rest before Uriah came in yammering about how Cael knocked over his ink -again- and put handprints on Khali's room which immediately brought in the star gypsy to complain.
And then Aiden was the bad guy for making them all work together to clean up the mess.
"Please." Alex looked at him, a little more seriously. "I say things, when I lose my temper; and what I said, couldn't be further from the truth. You area charitable, kind, loving and handsome young man.." He paused, albeit sadly. "And I love you so much, and I miss you."
Fumbling around with his hands, he tittered to himself; "I even miss some of the kids."
"Emi's gone," Aiden said softly. He couldn't respond to Alex's words of love, not right now. Not when he felt like he didn't deserve it.
"What happened?" Alex soothed, in a lower tone. He felt regret, regret for not knowing, and regret for not knowing her - or even trying to.
Was he really that selfish a b*****d?
"I couldn't make her appointments with D-corp and I could tell that that was going to hurt her in the long run because of what she was...and she wasn't getting the interaction with the other children like her...So I had to give her up." Aiden sounded so incredibly torn up about it. Emi was his little girl - almost moreso than Khali was. Khali had recently started to pull away from him and Emi...Emi always stuck close.
"I'm... so sorry Aiden..." His eyes wandered, and another uncomfortable atmosphere began to set in. "I'm sorry I never tried either."
He shrugged gently, "It wasn't right for me to spring them on you. They were sprung on me but...we're different in that respect. I love all of them."
"It wasn't right for me not to accept them into my home, or to show them any love or adoration. Or agree to that DAMN extention." Alex was cross with himself. He bit his lip down to try and calm a little. "I.. uh.."
He sighed and looked up at Alex, "We just handle things differently, Alex. You don't take change well."
"Change..." Alex sighed, and slid a little closer into Aiden. "How about we make a change... now?" He pressed his face in a little, floating slowly toward the blonde's face.
"I don't know, Alex," Aiden whispered. Gods he'd missed him so much but could he really deal with the children? With being a dad? He had to think of his kids first...
"What's stopping us Aiden?" He asked, directly in front of him now; faces almost touching. "I can...try...to..." He breathed lightly against him.
"You can't try," Aiden said softly, "You have to if you want us to work."
"I.. I'm willing to give it all I've got. You know it's hard for me. Why aren't my efforts good enough?" Alex rolled a hand forward a little, motioning towards Aiden's face. Reclusive Dreams (10:33:51 AM): "I know it is, but..." How could he explain that the kids were his world now? "And they are...*I* understand but the kids...Well, Khali might..." He hadn't even met Cael and Uriah.
"But, what do you want me to do? I want us to all be happy, and I... want to be able to love you ... & the kids properly again." Sighing again, Alex faced away a little.
Aiden looked at him quietly for a few moments before leaning in and kissing him softly. It was...different. It had been way too long since he'd kissed anyone...but it felt nice to do so again. Somewhere, in the back of his mind, he wondered if the sex maniac he was currently kissing had kissed anyone else...
Alex was surprised, but in a much more pleasant way. It'd seemed like ages since any of intimate meaning had gone on between them. And even though the soft kiss was short and sweet, it still meant a lot to him. That perhaps, Aiden still loved him deep down.
"I love you." He smiled warmly, deciding against kissing back, albeit temptation. Alex wasn't too keen on doing anything offensive and ruining everything.
"If this is going to work, there will be rules." Aiden said softly as he pulled away, "And boundries."
Alex had expected that, and accepted it gladly. "Go for it." He slid back a little.
"Keep your cursing to a minimum around the children," Aiden said, "If you want to argue with me, we do it in the bedroom with the door closed - not in front of the kids. You need to tone down your sex drive. Family dinners. A bigger house - preferrably the one I'm trying to get built as it has enough room and it's at cost and..." This was a big one, "You sponser me for my last three months of medical school and let me pay you back out of my salary once I graduate and get a job."
The first few were accepted happily, a slight nod at each rule. However, came the more risque measure. "I don't know how much money I have, but I'll check, and I'd happily sponser you. I'm just so proud you've decided to stick at it." A reaction that 10months previously might of been a lot, lot different.
Aiden leaned in and nuzzled at his neck gently, "It's okay if you can't. I just can't be a deadweight and I swear if I have to work at a fast food restaurant I will cry...And there's only a few months left which isn't a WHOLE lot but that money I used to get the house..." He'd quite literally hit rock bottom after they split.
"It's alright, I want what's best for you... I want what's best for our family." He smoothed his hand around Aiden's neck, before leaning in under, and proposing another kiss.
Aiden kissed him readily and hugged him tight. Things were going to be okay...He knew it. Or, rather, he had to think that way or he'd go nuts. Alex definitely had changed.
Alex kissed back gladly, pulling him in close with his big bold hands. "I'm so excited." The brunette mentioned, slowly edging for a more passionate and firey french kiss.
Aiden laughed softly and returned the kiss. It felt good to be in Alex's arms yet again and he just couldn't help it.
"So, you love me then?" He asked cheekily, rolling a hand up the man's shirt; around the area where he himself had been burnt.
"I never stopped."
Alex chuckled, butterflies gobbling up the insides of his stomach. "I don't want to take this any further, if you don't want to. I understand we've only just started again... But it has been a long time..." It was true he was still as lusty about sex as ever, but the sheer fact that he'd asked for Aiden's consent was a miracle.
It was a miracle, but Aiden wasn't quite ready to jump into that yet, "It'll come in time," Aiden answered, "For now...I don't think it's the best idea. Khali's watching Cy and Sel and the other twins are likely ruining Pales' furniture." He half smiled.
Alex grinned back coyly. "I'll look forward to that then Aiden." With a final kiss, he decided that it was maybe time for them to get on. "I'll call you, every day... Every hour... anytime... just pop around. I've driven myself to loneliness." He laughed.
"Let's not take it to every hour quite yet," Aiden teased, "But I'd like you to meet Cael and Uriah soon. They're a handful, though." He shuddered. Cael'd likely try and turn Alex's couches into ribbons with his tail (Or accidently poke something with his bladed wings) and Uriah...Well, Alex may actually like Uriah.
"Yeah, I'd like that." Alex replied, grinning madly. "I'd really like that." The youth stood up, and watched the door sway in on its self. "Oops, I've left this open for long enough."
"Good. Remember you said that when they're cutting up your couch and Uriah is writing sonnets on the walls." He blew him a kiss and went to the door, "I'll call you, Alex."
He smiled and then walked out - ready to go home and let Khali stop watching the babies. He really needed to stop doing that considering Khali was so young...But hey, it wasn't as if there was NO adult supervision. Pales was there.
Alex laughed, a little more uneasily. The next few weeks were going to be testing. "Bye Aiden."
~~~
"Khali?" Aiden entered her room quietly looking much happier than he had in a long while. The small girl looked up at her father from her perch on Armel's bed and smiled.
"Yeah, daddy?"
He sat down and pulled his daughter into his lap, "Alex and I are trying to work things out, all right? So things will change a little."
She brightened, "Are we going home?" She liked living here with Armel but sometimes she missed her own room. A lot. The gypsy child was starting to get excited when Aiden shook his head.
"No, little star, not yet." Aiden still wasn't exactly sure how things were going to work but it was a start in the right direction - and after the house was built it'd be a lot better.
"Oh. Well, all right. But things are better now, right?" She tilted her head and Aiden laughed.
"Much better, Khali. Much better."
