Rage breathed calmly for the most part, her tiny frame rising and falling with each deep breath. Though not conscious to the real world she could sense safety and feel the wind blow gently. Eyes closed and content for the moment she was deep into a dreamful slumber, she could rest here, and those images of pain would not return so it seemed.
Open green fields and the bright blue sky overhead filled with clouds that appeared poofy like a white wolfs fur. Dream of the old...the lost. But it still lingered in her mind holding some fond memories, though usuall overpowered by the painful ones.
The lake, crystal clear and filled with fish to the brim, making it easy for younger pups to learn to fend for a snack when there parents were not around to provide for them. Though Rage never got the chance to try.
The mountains that borded and hid the valley were tall, stoney yet held a few patches of green shrubery on some ledges. The lush forests of pine and maple with stream carving between them into the earth. The 'runes' of the cliffs, holding shining colored pieces of stone that all envied but never removed, holding the colors of the sky and the birds.
The stories and fables, told to the young while the parents hunted in the thickets for deer and the elusive rabbit, that never seemed to be an easy catch, they were rarely seen as it was. The night howls to praise the moon above...all drummed through Rage's mind as she fidgeted a bit while she slept, in the process snuggling up to Amelie more.
The wolves, all of the browns and grays of the treebarks and stones, some mixed of both, some as pure white as the clouded winter sky. Her family, brother and sister...Nix...all pouring through her mind, letting her rest at ease. The nights the fireflies danced in the darkness and light of the moon, how Rage would chase after them, and peer up into the night sky at the stars.
All these things flourished in her mind as she slept, but then things took a slight turn, with thoughts of the guardians, Cronos, and the tale of the betrayer, banished from the valley only weeks before Rage's generation was born. Tales of Arguin, the darkened half of him, those touched by darkness, strength and fear.
Cronos' glare that others picked up and used against Rage's amber puppy eyes, curious of the world but cut off from curiousity due to "the best intentions" for the pack. To keep her under watch, under control, they feared something, yet she never understood what and why she was treated that way, treated like dirt.
At these thoughts Rage's ears flicked to the side, her tail wrapped around her body she made a slight whimper in her sleep as they began to fade away. Her dream vision faded, she slept now in the darkness of the shadows of her mind. Curling up next to Amelie she sighed, slightly content once more as she rested.
