I joined because I'm Finnish, but it's also very very very interesting to see what people think about Finland and us Finns^^ And now I can really see how hard Finnish is for people who live in other countries... pirate But I also think Finnish is an incredible language. All it's difficulties make it interesting lol

I am Irish lol but ever since I got into Apocalyptica I have had this fascination with Finland. I noticed that during the Eurovision this year that the clip with the goths was shot at the I want to say Tuska Open Air Metal Festival. I think the language sounds both sexy and harsh in a nice way lol

I saw a video on the tube of Eicca Toppinen from Apocalyptica presenting MTV's headbangers ball in finnish and it just sounded soooo cool. Well its kinda like german in that both languages are at the opposite end of the spectrum than French haha. French is spoken from the tongue and German is from the throat and well Finnish sounds more.... ammm... I dunno lol

I joined up because I am Finnish. Half German, a quarter Swed, and a quarter Finn. I only know one phrase in the language, but I'd love to learn. I want to get closer with my culture and learn more about my family. If I knew about this guild sooner, I would have joined months ago. I searched for this guild when I saw a "Finnish People" thread in the Friends Chat linked to the Chatterbox the other night. I was so blown away seeing everyone talk, er, type in fluent Finnish. Also, the Scandinavian side of my family has an interesting history that I want to learn about; see if it's true. Maybe this place will help.

Hello, is it weird that I join to a Finnish guild just to tal my native, and then I rush here to talk English?
Well, My english isn't perfect, it's my third language. I'm a finn, living in Finland, but I do like speaking english.
I hope that the "guild-thing" won't happen again to me, every time I join one guild, I leave it kinda soon...
Oh well.

Uhhh, your English is bad? I'm a native speaker and if you call that bad then I feel really stupid. Mun suomen kieli on hyvin huono. Puhun Englantia, vähän Suomea ja vähän saska, koska mun poikaystävä asun Saksassa. Sorry for any errors.

I joined because I really like Finland a lot and want to talk to some people that live there and such. I also really like the language, and I wanna learn it. I love history, and I seem to really like the history of the Nordic countries (Finland in particular), and I wanna learn more on the culture. 3nodding And from what I've seen, all the Finns are excellent at English! biggrin

Again, the burden of losing rests upon my shoulders And it's weight seems unbearable. 'Your tomb is where your heart is,' I should have told her But within me hid a secret so terrible. Well a lot of my favorite bands are from Finland and so I thought it was a bit odd that none of them ever actually sing in Finnish. But I've heard them talk in Finnish and it seems like you guys talk really really fast. I just thought it would be a cool language to learn. So since the "Finnish People" thread says you can only talk in Finnish I decided not to post there asking for someone to help me learn how to speak it because I didn't want to get yelled at. So I decided to go to the guilds and type in Finland and your guild popped up. And that is my story. If I should die before I wake Pray no one my soul to take. And if I wake before I die Rescue me with your smile.

It's just so horrible... Gotta try and keep it as low as possible.
