At corps we had a girl who played tuba and she was the shortest girl in corps. 5 ft exactly. She was also the section leader. In one part of our show, the tallest tuba and her were side by side and it was so awesome. Even with her Tuba up she fit perfectly under him. lol She could also hold her horn up longer than any of the guys.

I'm the only girl in the trombone section... My friend plays baritone and she's of the female gender, too, but the guys all call me boner chick. It's like, my title. xd

Northe Pretty much all of the brass are guys except for two girls: one in French Horn and the other in Euphonium. Besides those two (and Percussion, which is evenly mixed), all of the girls in the band are either flutes, clarinets, or oboes. There is, however, one guy clarinet. He says he wishes he had chosen trumpet, though. xD Yah it's like that in our band too! All the girls are either in flute or clarinet. My friend and I are the only girls in low brass or anyother section except flute and clarinet. Oh but there is this one guy in clarinet but he likes it! Dosen't wanna change!!! I'm not comfortable around him... *Cough, cough* blaugh

I'm the only girl tuba. I was mainly ignored and such.. But I was always invited out to the 'tuba breakfasts/lunches/dinners' but all I did was sit there and eat. I did get very corrupted, though. *twitch* Guys talk about the worst things when they don't think a girl is listening.
Right now in concert band, I'm 1st chair. The two other guys are just stupid sophomores. They'd rather play a note wrong then ask me what the fingering for it is.
But next marching season, I'll be one of two seniors in the section, so they shall feel my wrath! *insert maniacal laughter here* That is if I don't get picked for drum major. ^^

Yeah! That is how it is at my school too! Why are boys so retarded?! I'm normaly first or second chair. But one guy in our trombone section is really nice but he talks about lots of... stuff... I wish I could turn my ears off but I can't... I have to live through it too! I guess it is the curse of the girls in all boys sections!!! crying stare

If you think some of the things you learn in your section is bad look at the Perverted Directors forum! Some of those stories are just KREEPY!!!! I wouldn't even belive some of them if it had not happened to me! But I have a perverted band director too! GO there and coment! It is pretty bad! But soem are really funny! blaugh

I just realized, now that I'm on tenor for concert band, I'm the only girl in the sax section for wind ensemble, and the only girl in the low wind section (tenor, bari, trombone, tuba) for the entire band, at least for concert. We've got another girl tenor and a girl trombone, but they only play those for jazz band.

Not to brag or anything (I feel bad for saying this because there is one other girl in my section) but I have won the best section person Every year I have been in band!!! I am proud of me!!! blaugh But this year could be the end I have not been working as hard as I normally have! I hope my friend (the other girl in the section) wins!!! You diverve it MANDA!!! Anyway the point I'm making is that none of the boys in the trombone section has ever won the AWARD!!! HA HA HA!!! twisted
