Yeah, it's pretty cool. I'll take this class and DL a dictionary, and maybe use it in a Gaian language thread.

So sensei, how would one say Furi Kuri then? Fure Kure? Furi Kuri should be internationally similar due to it being just so darn awesome.

Furi kuri would be spelt, Furi Kuri. Remember, the vowels (a, e, i, o, u) are just about the same as they are in Japanese. It wouldn't be Fure since 'e' would be the same as in the word 'fed' or 'bet'. You want the sound 'i' as in 'machine'

of course, when the anime came out in Gaia, it was called Egenda Anime va Tingar kome utav en Jonges Huved - the strange anime where things come out of a boy's head. Yeah....sales weren't good.

Hej, ne problem, min Frend. Just be sure to read the thread from the beginning to get caught up. Our third class will begin soon. Also, be sure to finish the assignment from last session - give us your name in Gaian using the sentence and your last name is your father's (or mother's) name plus -son (if you're a boy) or -doxter (if you're a girl).

So far everyone has been doing pretty well, although there is still some confusion about what letters Gaian doesn't have (no Cs for example).

There are few things, Hr. Failson, that are boring in Gaian. Your name looks good, except there is no CH in Gaian. That deep HHHH sound you write as CH in German would be written with an X, Aleexander, perhaps? If your father's name is Phil, then your last name could also be Filson.

Coincidently, one of my favorite Japanese animes has a main character named Azuma Kazuma. Any relation?

So it would be more like Kazuma Aleexander Failson? Failson is really his last name, not changed so I add annother son? Failsonson? xd

For some reason I thought we were writing it pheneticaly. xd

Haha, no I think it will be OK if you just leave it as Failson. Perhaps your father's father name was Fail. biggrin

We're using the Gaian alphabet. It's more phonetic than English, to be sure. Gaian follows a rule most languages don't: One sound, one letter - with the small exceptions of NG and EE.

Jes, du spreke Gaian vara guda, Hr. Lit. Remember that it is pronounced as Nam, not name.

In Gaian, the word for 'one' in this situation would be Dor (the non-gender specific pronoun). Lit Dor would sound very strong in Gaian.

You might also consider, as your official Gaian name Obastu which means 'most supreme'. The official Gaian dictionary uses this word for 'elite' as well.

In class, we'll all be calling you probably by your last name (father's name + -son).

You'll notice I address men as Her (Hr. - sounds like the English word 'hair'), which means 'lord, mister'. So for example, Maeth would be Hr. Majkelson (also my Gaian last name). Women are addressed as Fru (Fr.) or Frulin (Fln.), if they're unmarried, which means 'lady' or 'miss'.
