((I was wondering if you mind if amy comes and joins with her leopard? I had a little idea for a plotplot that might be a bit interesting ^_^! Just asking before I tell her to come and posty!))

The big green male smiled ina charming manner and got to his foot paws following her to the zebras remains he too set to work on taking a chunk and chewing it before he replied. "It has been a long time since I have been around somone." He paused a moment eating another bit of the zebra, it was still fairly fresh through cool from the night. The sun would rise high soon and the humidity of the jungle would make the carcass smell terribly, he didn't want to see it go to waste, it would save him another hunting trip after all at least until tomorrow.

"My mother was the last person I spoke to I beleive, though that was some time ago" He smiled weakly, his icey green eyes resting on the meaty carcass. "I'm glad you are here Umeme, I would appreciate it much if you would stay. As swift as that must sound, and perhaps a little presumtuous of me, I don't think I have ever had anyone quite so, pleasing around." He paused and looked embarressed and a little foolish. His wording wasn't very good. "He cleared his throat and looked up sheepishly "I'm afraid I am as eloquaint as a slug" he grinned, showing those sparkling white fangs shocking against the dark green of his fur.

((I don't mind at all. ^^ ))

"Oh, I don't know," Umeme teased lgihtly, wanting to put the green male back at ease. "I've seem some slugs that wre fairly eloquant when they needed to be. And I would be lying if I said that I wasn't terribly flattered that you think so highly of me already."

She applied herself to her meal for a moment longer, than looked up.

"Jani, please don't take this the wrong way. I like it here, I really do and right now, I hope I can stay forever. But it is not going to be easy for either of us. You are used to solitude and you've already adapted the the treetops. I'm pretty much full grown and I don't think I will ever be able to adapt to tree-dancing. Not completely. But I think as long as we both keep our patience and senses of humor intact, it should not all right."

((Okies, lets hope I don't screw this up x3))

Below the cosy scene of the two cheetahs, at the very base of the tree, a young leopard male stared upwards, ears inclined forward, listening intently. His maw was contorted in what looked like a pout.

"Guh...I can't believe I'm here..." he shook his head lightly, and then looked around to make sure no other leopard or large cat had followed him.

Takilifu approached the base of the tree, fluffy tail flicking back and forth as he thought about how to best approach the large vines and branches. Then he just tossed out any clever way of climbing this beast and launched himself up the bark, digging his claws in and hauling himself up. He had to sidle across a few times, and then he resigned himself to branch-hopping for the last part of the way.

As he reached the top, he didn't enter the basin straight away. He perched on his branch at the edge and looked in at the two cheetahs. Two very long limbed and skinny cats that were foreign to Takilifu's eyes. So...this is supposed to be my secret brother... he cocked an eyebrow.

He smirked and then leaped right in and landed on the zebra carcass.

So ensconed was the deep green male in eating that it wasn't until the young leoopard landed upon the zebra that he moved diving in front of Umeme as he did so. Jani wasn't a small male to say the least, his time climbing through the tree top had strengthened his fore front, so although he was still lean and lanky like a normal cheetah his forequarters were heavily built. The dark male flattened his ears tightly against his head and he licked his lips a few times as he growled. Jani, to say the least was shocked by the fact that a leopard had made its way in to his den. Who the hell was this creature? How did he get here?

"Take the kill and get lost" he hissed through clenched teeth still standing in front of Umeme, he would normally have run, escaping through the trees like that which he was named after but he refused to leave the female. He had never faught a leopard before, but this one wasn't exactly fully grown he could hold his own against it, maybe, just let it take the beast and leave, there was no swift way to get the female behind him out of the tree and away so he would have to stall for her to escape.

Standing poised, waiting just in case the large male rattled through a thousand ways to escape, or atleast to get Umeme out to saftey. If she got hurt by this leopard, it was all his fault, he would never forgive himself.

Umeme heard herself snarling at the intruder, felt her lips pulling back to reveal sharp fangs. Carefully, she inched from behind Jani. If it had to come to a fight, better to have a two-pronged attack on this beast. She had a faint flicker of insight. This half grown cat wouldn't be able to defend itself terribly well if they both attack it.

"Jani," she whispered, pitchign her voice so only he would hear. "we might have to killit. What if it tells others about your home?"

Takilifu smirked and seemed completely calm despite Jani's threats and Umeme's ferocious hostility. He sat on the zebra, sniffing at the meat, licking the hide occasionally, and chewed on a rib idly.

"Dawww...now is that any way to treat your little brother?" he said, pouting, his voice dripping with sarcasm."Mother told me exactly how to find you."

The large green male still stood slightly forwards of Umeme, listening to her words though he knew full well she was correct. if he had to he would have to try and kill the young male leopard, he was a threat to their way of life.

His ears twitched as he heard the words of the strangely marked young male though and he raised a brow. "Mother?" He blinked inching forwards his tail twitching. It suddenly dawned on him, one tiny bundle of unseeing fluff, the day he had left as a juvenile to see his own way in the world, he had learned the tricks of the trade from her. He was the best, he had adapted with his weight and agylity the way no leopard could but the female, she had known where he was, he had made sure she knew. "Talikifu" He mumbled, his tail stopping ridgid. Why would she tell him? Brother he may be though not by blood, that didn't mean he wasn't a threat to them, she knew the jungle cats, on the most part, despised the tree jumping cheetah.

"What are you doing here little brother?" Jani tried to surpress a smile, despite his worry it was good to see family even though the young male would never have seen him. He flattened his ears against his head watching the leopard gnaw at the hard caught meal. He wanted to ask why their mother would inform him of his where abouts, she never told anyone, she knew well how to keep a secret.

Umeme reared back in shock, looking from Jani to the leopard and back again.

"Little brother? Mother? Jani, what is he talking about?"

This was too much strangeness to start a day off with.

After gnawing at the meaty rib for a few moments longer, almost missing Jani's words amidst the lip smacking and bone-crunching, Takilifu rolled from the zebra carcass and onto his back. He wiggled there, like a snake, and then looked at the two cheetahs, almost looking cute. Almost.

"This isn't a bad place you know...I could get used to it," he mused out loud.

If Jani was hated amongst the jungle leopards, Takilifu wasn't much better off himself. He was tolerated by his kind, but not always welcomed because of his pranks. But Jani needn't know that. At least not now.

Takilifu suddenly rolled over and onto his belly.

"I am here because I have no one left," he said, his cheeky demeanour ebbing slightly. "Mother is gone. She passed in the night."

He fixed his gaze on the green cheetah, expression serious this time. Takilifu was hurting, but he didn't know how to show it properly. It was always hidden beneath bravado and mischieviousness.

Invincable. The green male had always thought that of his mother figure. She was strong and of a nature that just couldn't be quelled by rumors. Yet here was this youngster informing him of her passing. "How can that be?" He whispered as if asking the question would some how break the world as he kne wit in two.

The leopardess that had adopted him had been tough on him, she had made sure he could survive, made sure that when he was in the trees that he could live and escape and survive as well as if not betetr than any of the jungle cats. Yet, yet she had always seemed to be alive, he had never imagined that she would pass away, thats he would go from the mortal rhealm in to the world of fantasy. Yet here was this cub informing him other wise. The large males ears flattened against his head and ice green eyes looked to the ground. "How can that be?" He mumbled once again his eyes looking to the little leopard before him.

Standing tall he walked up in that strange dancing motion that time in the tree tops had left him with, "Did she have a message for me?" he asked, he feared the answer, did he want a message? perhaps the message had simply to be informed of ehr death. He frowned. He would miss her, his heart ached with a dull thudding in his deep chest, she taught him to survive, she let him live and tough as she was, she always had a kind word for him when he needed it. She was gone and dissbeleif was setting in. She was supposed to live forever, that was what he had expected.

Umeme backed away and moved tot he furthest edge of the den. She still didn't quite understand what was going on, but she could practically feel the pain radiating from the two males. This was private pain and it did not need her hovering nearby and gawping.

Settling her bruised frame comfortably, the lithe reddish-brown cheetah laid down and watched the sceneunfold with wide golden eyes.

The sandy-brown leopard looked away from his cheetah-brother for a few moments, seemingly trying to recall his mother's dying moments. In fact, Takilifu was trying to 'get into character' so as to make his next statement most convincing.

"No. She only had the life left in her to tell me where you lived and to go find you," he said, slowly and morosely.

This was a blatant lie. The little leopard had found it pretty hard to swallow that his mother, a highly respected leopard in the forest, had raised a cheetah and loved it just as she loved him. Maybe in time, Takilifu would reveal the truth to Jani.

Here and now though, he shuffled his paws, trying to stop his mind from wandering.

Jani surpressed a scowl and a frown, instead he looked stoic about the whole thing trying to hold back the anger and the sadness that welled in his chest from being told his mother, his mother had no final word for him.

"Thankyou for the information" he looked down his short muzzle atthe leopard. His heart was yelling for him to bite the little blaggard and force him to speak, to tell him his mother had a last, kind word for him, a word of love, of anything. No, she had only sent her other son to tell him of her death.

His heart yearned for that whisper of love. Glancing behind himself he smiled weakly to Umeme, he wanted to be alone with her now, he needed the comfort of his own kind. Turning a stern look upon the younger leopard he snorted and gave a grunt of dissaproval along with a low growl "eat your fill and get out. Don't dare tell anyone of this place you got it?" He was feeling bitter, why tell this cub to simply come and find him? Why hadn't she left him a message. He ached for his mothers words.

Umeme sat watching the young leopard. For some reason she couldn't identify, she didn't trust him. She couldn't imagine any mother not having a kind word for their children when they died. Then again, she thought somewhat bitterly to herself, I can't even remember who my mother is.

Sensing Jani's hurt made her want to bite the leopard and slash him with her claws. Without conscious thought, a low, threatening growl escaped her throat as she continued to stare unblinkingly at the intruder.

Takilifu looked seriously offended by Jani's words and Umeme's actions, although this could have been another great piece of acting. He pouted.

"Hey, I'm your little brother, as you gonna let her growl at me like that?" he complained, springing to his feet in a mini-tantrum.

But the somewhat stern looks on both their faces told Takilifu that maybe he should actually disappear for a few moments, at least until his unusual sense of humour and 'baby-brotherness' would be more welcomed. He sniffed at the zebra carcass, almost tempted to take the whole thing with him. A zebra skeleton was something fun to play with. But in the end, Takilifu simply tore off a hind leg and dragged it to the edge of the hollow. He let it fall to the ground with a heavy thud and then he padded down after it.
