Twisting as he tried futilely to escape Yazoo yelped as the curtain tightened to a death grip. With all of his air now leaving in a whoosh he coughed and fell to the floor with one arm pinned firmly behind his back.

The worst part of it all had to be that he couldn't even make a smart remark back at the other boy. Pouting unhappily he lay there, still, since the fussing he had done hadn't helped him at all.

Great, now the naked boy was going to help him out of the extra cloth. Could things get more ironic?

Ifrit couldn't hold back the snickers as he watched the boy's struggle. After a few moments, he shook his head and advanced, ready to assist the boy- it was obvious he was incapable of escaping the fearsome curtain.

He helped unwind and pull the cloth off the other boy, looking at him with golden eyes full of amusement. "See? Wearing clothes just causes way too much trouble." he laughed, a grin full of white teeth standing out boldly against his dark fur as he loosened the death-grip the curtain previously had on the boy.

Not able to help himself Yazoo snapped back "Clothes don't tangle you up like curtains. If you'd been wearing some then I wouldn't have needed to pull the curtain down."

It was horribly embarassing that he had gotten caught in his own attempt to cover the other boy up but what made the whole thing worse was that now the naked kid was standing over him and he had a fairly good view of what was under the jewlery and fur.

Turning his head he blushed furiously as he kicked his way out of the last of the cloth. Coming back to his feet he did his very best to seem unimpressed.

He crinkled his nose at the boy's tone, hackles pricking a little bit. He was slowly getting tired of being nagged at. "Oy, if you weren't such a tweak, we wouldn't have this problem." he huffed, coils of steam snaking out of his nose.

He was half-tempted to ignite the other boy's pants for a laugh but ah, Alex would be displeased with that, wouldn't he? Plus, he was trying to make friends and setting fire to someone was apparently not a good friend-making tool.

He looked at the boy, unaware of why he was acting so weird. He was likely like a dog or other mammal in his anatomical structure (and perhaps a tad in behavior as well)- hence why he thought he needed little more than fur when he went out. Everything was mostly covered up, so what was the big deal?

"I should have left you in the curtain..." he muttered. Left him in the curtain and perhaps raided his fridge in the meantime...

Wheither the parts were clearly visible or not made no difference to Yazoo as he could believe what he saw was what he had wanted covered up. Now the whole day was becoming ruined and he couldn't seem to get past the naked state of his smoking friend.

"Fine. It doesn't matter then." he said feeling for the first time today a pout coming on. Why did the boy have to be so beastly towards him? He was just trying to make him polite society ready.

Ifrit sighed and rolled his eyes. Aw, now he was getting huffy and pouty again. He shouldn't have even called attention to the fact he had no clothes on and he wouldn't have if he knew the kid would react like this. he just...he didn't see what was wrong. He wasn't like everyone else, after all and Alex had never said anything about it...

But this kid was kind of weird, he mused as he thought about how girly he'd been acting when they first met.

"Don't be like that. Let's just go to your room and I'll let you dress me up. Just walk ahead of me and don't look behind if you're so bothered." he huffed. He didn't like the notion of being dressed up like some doll or little girl but...he needed friends, right? And Yazoo was nice...ah, the things an Aeon did for friendship!

Drawing his lips into a tight line Yazoo just nodded and began off down the hall ahead of Ifirit. Stuffing his hands into his pockets he pulled out his gloss and smeared some on his quickly chapping lips. Why did he always lick his lips when he was nervous?

It was such a bad habit. He'd have to get rid of it. Didn't want to ruin the kissablity of his pout.

"My room is just around this corner." he said as he turned and pushed on the closest door to them.

What opened up was a room that would make even the king enviable. A four-poster bed with drapery straight out of the 17th century sat in the corner while an ornate desk sat by a seater window which looked out over a large expanse of garden that had winter flowers already in bloom.

Ifrit rolled his eyes and stepped carefully around the tangled mess of curtains, following after the boy, his hands tucked behind his head, bangles jangling as he trotted along. He occupied himself by looking around at the castle walls, taking in all the sights and smells. Such a cool place! It was readily distracting him from being annoyed with the other boy.

As the boy announced his room was nearby, Ifrit looked up and nodded (even if the boy couldn't see his gesture of confirmation). He sped up a little bit, turning into the door the boy had pushed in on. The quicker he could get in and get the dressing thing over with, the quicker the growing awkwardness could be dissolved.

"Whooooa..." he uttered, looking around with wide, golden eyes.

The room was pretty fancy stuff! Sure, the decor looked a little funny but the bed looked comfy and the view from the window was pretty neat (though Ifrit wasn't sure flowers would be too interesting to look at for too long). Still, the space and overall impact was pretty awe-inspiring. Maybe not cool, per se, but neat none the less. He waddled around the room, forgetting about the main goal of getting him clothed, more intrigued with examining everything...

Stepping to the side he let Ifirit in the room ahead of him. He really didn't understand why the other boy found his home so intriguing. It was just a house.

"I want Daddy to let me redecorate my room but he insists that I just got some new stuff for it and don't need to change it again so soon. I just think my vanity is too small. I mean it barely holds all my stuff." Yazoo said with a gesture at a large mirrored table that was covered with bottles of sweet smelling lotions and bitter perfumes.

Ifrit had climbed up on the bed and was bouncing around before flopping down to his back. Oh, this was a comfy bed! Much better for jumping than his hammock-bed back to Alex's (though he rather liked his hammock bed. Even if it was poor for jumping on).

He swung his legs around so they were dangling off the bed and looked at the vanity, arching an eyebrow. Was he serious? That was something a girl had! He wondered if this boy realized he was a boy at times...

"Uh yeah..." he said, agreeing with the boy...though he wasn't sure what he was agreeing on. He didn't know how big vanities were supposed to be, really.

All he knew was everything in that area of the room smelled funny. Not bad-funny, just...strong. Like flowers and powder and stuff.

"One time, I wanted Alex to get me a new ball, but he said no coz he said I was just gonna melt it like my last one. I can't help it if I like things that melt! It just looks cool to see it burst into flames and turn into a goopy puddle! Though...you can't kick stuff once it's a puddle..." he said, going off on a bit of a tangent.

Yazoo just stared at Ifirit his small mouth forming a little "o". So he was a pyromaniac then. That could explain why he was always so aggressive.

"But if you melt everything or set it on fire how will you ever have anything nice?" he asked sincerely not understanding the draw of fire.

Ifrit kicked his legs, letting them swing forwards and backwards, bumping against the edge of the bed. As the other boy spoke of how pointless melting things could be, Ifirt smirked at the boy's naivety. Or what he thought was naivety.

"Oh Yazoo...you just don't get the beauty of fire. It's totally worth it. Nothing's nicer to have than a nice toasty fire..." he smiled contentedly. He did like having stuff, though. "'sides, I don't melt EVERYTHING...just the stuff that either melts really nice or burns pretty."

Still not quite getting it Yazoo came over and sat down on the bed beside Ifirit before saying "But what if something you really love burns pretty?"

It was a horrifying thought but a curious one for the young boy as well. Burning stuff was beautiful huh, he'd never thought of it that way before.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 03, 2008 6:19 pm

Ifrit stopped kicking his legs as the other boy came over and sat next to him. What if something he loved burned pretty? Like Alex or Jukal? Like his cape back home? That would kind of suck- it's why he was always careful around those things. Sometimes...it was better to not know if something you really liked burned pretty.

"Well..." he said, looking as though as he was thinking for a bit. "I suppose I'd suck it up and throw some water on it. But if nothing can be done, ya may as well sit down and enjoy the fire. But...it's like Alex says- some things are fer burnin', and some things aren't fer burnin', no matter how cool they might look. Things you love, no matter how pretty they could burn, shouldn't be set on fire." he said.

It was hard for the boy to explain, but there was a distinction between things you should burn, things that looked cool when they burned, and things that were not to be burned. Sometime it was hard to tell what belonged in which category, though.

"Though...I know enough not to burn living things." he nodded to himself, proud of his knowing this.

Nodding Yazoo patted Ifirit's hand and smiled at him. "That's a good way to look at it. I'll have to try burning something to see what you mean totally." he said as he jumped down off the bed.

"Time for your bath." he announced as he walked through a door that sat off to the left.
