I was born and raised in winnipeg, Mb all of my life and still enjoy it. Every summer I learn new stuff about this fabulous place. I like to go on boats on the Redriver. It is a lot of fun.
Hi lentiss.
We just had a wicked light show the other day. It was none stop lightening. we had one storm around 10:30pm and then another showed up at 1:30am. It was crazy. the sky was lite up like it was the daytime. Next day some streets were flooding and trees where all over the place. I am babbling again so I will stop.

My power cut out randomly and came back on right away about 6 times.Yah I'm not the only person from winnipeg. blaugh I remember that night the water in the street was over 2 feet hight in some places and there was a tonado that landed that night though everyone is denying it. It was the first on in like 90 years.

Auto theft
Criminal offences
and slurppees
Well there goes the tourists. (On that last point I wonder if I can get a goverment grant to research the connections between slurppees and crime?)

Lentiss, there are many connections between slurpees and crime. First of all, slurpees lure the tourist (last I knew), and the crime drives them away. See the connection? If not... I'm just a silly Winnipegger. XD

That thunderstorm last Saturday. I stayed up until two in the morning! I got to see green, yellow, orange, red, blue, dark blue and purple lightning! Wonderful! Ooh! And I also watched a big branch fly into my front yard. Fun. The birch trees in our boulevard survived... yet I thought they would be definite goners since the shorter one has been attacked by woodpeckers again this spring. I saw one pine tree where the first half (where it is all trunk -- no branches) is still standing, while a quarter of it is lying in one position and the top quarter is leaning against the spruce that is twenty feet away. That unlucky pine tree was a lodgepole pine, I believe. Then on the other corner of that street, an unlucky Russian Olive tree was lying on its side, the bottom of the trunk (where they meet the roots) was sticking out, and what was the top of the tree was touching the street about thirty to sixty feet away, making a kind of roadblock on the sidewalk.
Oh yeah... I got to smell something called ozone! That's not good, because when ozone is in the air, it means that lightning is gonna strike in that area, and it did -- on the wires and power box thingies. Also, my sister told me that ozone can be a cause of cancer... O.O
...
Um... I'm thirteen, just so you all know, unless you looked at my signature or my profile. XD I have lived in Manitoba my whole life, and two years of it was spent in Brandon, whereas the rest in Winnipeg.

Alright, I know this post is getting long, but I really think I should write this:
Have any of you been noticing lately that last Saturday, and the Saturday before that, there were severe thunderstorms? Does that make you think there will be a thunderstorm tonight? I think so.
